Another fun thing about Argonians is how despite having a beastly appearance and kinda awkward customs, they still have way better social skills than all the elf/mer races. Like, while the majority of elves is either douches or creeps, the majority of Argonians is just so damn nice.

To be honest, the Argonians got enslaved... Twice... After their predecessors, the Dunmer enslaved them a second time. The only reason they get out of trouble seems to be their magic tree sap.

That would be so awesome! Black Marsh is one of the most wild & primitive places in Tamriel, with a lot of it untouched by Imperial Culture. It would be interesting to explore it & discover more about the Hist, the Argonian tribes & the politics among them. There's so much interesting stuff to cover. I'm such a nerd. Maybe we could even get to visit the Hist's Daedric plane? Wouldn't be too far-fetched IMO, considering you get to visit Sovngarde in Skyrim.
Smike Sounds awesome)) Tbh, im not a big fan of tes, just because Skyrim and Oblivion didn't catch me (medieval and viking theme felt too generic to me). But i've seen Morrovind (and really want to play it when i get the chance) - it looked really bizzare, unique and interesting. I really hope that the next game would be set in some of those unusual Tamriel places.
I hope so, too. Bethesda is very good at creating mysterious, alien worlds. Morrowind is a great example, as is The Shivering Isles DLC (one of the best DLCs ever in my opinion). I hope they get back to doing stuff like that. If not in the main games, then I hope at least in the DLCs.

It's obviously inspired in the runes from Nordic culture, yet they refuse to put two plus two together and go "Hey, we should PROBABLY learn more magic so the elves will stop buttfucking us. I feel like humans should be the only ones, able to transform into wolfs with only exception being the Nords, who should be the only ones able to transform into wearbears and werewolves. Idk but nords being able, to do both just fits them. And for redguards a wear jackal, would fit as a variation of werewolves whereas, bretons can only be wear wolves. Meanwhile imperials can turn into minotaurs and Werwolves. And all Elven races can transform into, whatever animal is usually associated with elves idk.
The way they fought against the dark elves was incredible too. Karma got the dunmer once morrowind was turned into a wasteland. Another reason why they are the most badass race.

I have only just come across this video. I am playing an Argonian who was shipwrecked north of Dawnstar. His objective is to get back to Black Marsh but to get there he has to come to terms with how he can best make his way back. He is doing that by taking on trials that gives him the edge of building up his skills and getting to know the citizens of Skyrim.
I remember playing Skyrim and getting Derkethus as a follower~ Skyrim, being my first game, i had no clue what the mara amulet did. When i wore it and Derkethus had this new option i was like "ooo" so i clicked it and he was all like, "meet me at this temple". I was still very confused so i went there at the time. The priest was there and i was just clicking the yes icon as i didnt really know what was happening XD i cant believe i didnt catch on, even though the text said wedding multiple times~ i didnt realize i married an argonian until i got the achievement~ but hey, at least have an invincible lizard husband (also my adopted kids reappeared at the wedding after going missing for a majority of my playthrough so thats a plusXD )
We wasn't afraid of Oblivion being overrun, Oblivion is an entire dimension and he only closed them to allow more power for manifesting himself in Cyrodill
The only reason I picked the Argonians was because you could be come a werewolf and a vampire later on in the game and I thought Lizard Werewolf Vampire! How awesome I picked Argonians, but than I learned that you can only become one or the other which is kind of lame, but hey Lizard Werewolf ain't half bad.
I love how in Morrowind they had those big velociraptor feet they looked so deadly and wild just walking around, didn't even matter that I couldn't wear shoes or certain headgear.

The Redguards escaped a sinking continent, settled the Alikir desert, destroyed the orcs in a war, and fought the Aldmeri Dominion to a standstill. And all without magic tree sap.
+Cheeco Bean the Redguards had unofficial Imperial help against the (already weakened) Dominion, though... and the Dominion is most likely far weaker than they wanna seem. The Redguards possibly also sank their own continent with the pankratosword (nuclear sword strike), though.
sorry but the orc part is not entirely true. the orcs wanted to set up a new city-state of Orsinium in Highrock and neither the Redguards or the Bretons wanted that so they both worked together to try to take them down and even then they still held out for 30 god damn years.
It's the only race in the game I play as. Underwater breathing and sneak plus resistance to poison. They make great stealth assassin's. Great to use for the dark brotherhood. I love this race and they make good mages.

Believe me, dear friend, they are capable of much without the Hist. And this modified juice is so, a safety net. Moreover, even without a Hist, some Argonians are able to see into the future. Yes, even if the Argonians had not known that the Daedra were coming, they would still have driven them back into Oblivion.
I'm reminded of a quote from the great Jim Lampley talking about a fighter who appeared to be facing insurmountable odds "an act of Herculean courage!" That was the Argonian spirit during a crisis.
What makes this even better is that after the Argonians beat the Deadra they were like screw it let's invade morrowind too. So they actually invaded morrowind after the oblivion Crisis. The reason for the invasion of morrowind was because of how the dark elves enslaved the Beast races.
Skyrim was the first Elder Scrolls game I played. I chose an Argonian because I thought he looked cool. When I saw he had a tail that didn't fit very well with most armor, I got mad but I learned to see how cool Argonians actually are.

Same here :) When I play the game I make choices based on gameplay, not lore/appearance. But even so, they have some pretty useful race stats. Waterbreathing & Resist Disease? Sign me up fam!
In skyrim, I think khajiit are the most useful. Early game your claws are actually better than most 1-handed weapons (and in brawls those claws are very useful), and the night vision is pretty useful in dark cave where you can't see more than 5 feet in front of you.

You're right, good point. I think I read somewhere that the further away the Argonians get from the Hist, the less the Hist can influence them. Also, I don't know what the Hist's intentions/motivations are, but so far they don't seem hell bent on world domination (though it still remains to be seen). They seem more motivated in protecting themselves and surviving. I don't think they have the desire and/or capacity to invade other provinces (at least not yet), which is why the Argonians haven't conquered Tamriel so far. That's my theory on it, anyway.

Orcs get beaten by magic actually, Argonians don't because they have a higher level of Alteration and Restoration which means they can resist to magic and melee.
It may not be that the Hist can see into the future, but that they have simply seen it before. I seem to recall that they are one of the few beings who can survive from one time cycle to the next.

The only reason I picked the Argonians was because you could be come a werewolf and a vampire later on in the game and I thought Lizard Werewolf Vampire! How awesome I picked Argonians, but than I learned that you can only become one or the other which is kind of lame, but hey Lizard Werewolf ain't half bad.
I love how in Morrowind they had those big velociraptor feet they looked so deadly and wild just walking around, didn't even matter that I couldn't wear shoes or certain headgear.

Morrowind, Jet Set Radio Future, Soul Calibur 2, Fable, and both Star Wars Battlefronts were like all my family played for years... The nords came from a frozen wasteland to skyrim and completely destroyed the native elf populations.
The Redguards escaped a sinking continent, settled the Alikir desert, destroyed the orcs in a war, and fought the Aldmeri Dominion to a standstill. And all without magic tree sap.
+Cheeco Bean the Redguards had unofficial Imperial help against the (already weakened) Dominion, though... and the Dominion is most likely far weaker than they wanna seem.
The Redguards possibly also sank their own continent with the pankratosword (nuclear sword strike), though.
Interesting to see if the dwemer would've repelled them if they didnt vanish
sorry but the orc part is not entirely true. the orcs wanted to set up a new city-state of Orsinium in Highrock and neither the Redguards or the Bretons wanted that so they both worked together to try to take them down and even then they still held out for 30 god damn years.
I wanna see a fight between Redguards and Argonians.Or what if they just started getting horny and made a hybrid masterrace?

It's the only race in the game I play as. Underwater breathing and sneak plus resistance to poison. They make great stealth assassin's. Great to use for the dark brotherhood. I love this race and they make good mages.

Believe me, dear friend, they are capable of much without the Hist. And this modified juice is so, a safety net. Moreover, even without a Hist, some Argonians are able to see into the future. Yes, even if the Argonians had not known that the Daedra were coming, they would still have driven them back into Oblivion.

What makes this even better is that after the Argonians beat the Deadra they were like screw it let's invade morrowind too.
So they actually invaded morrowind after the oblivion Crisis.
The reason for the invasion of morrowind was because of how the dark elves enslaved the Beast races.

Skyrim was the first Elder Scrolls game I played. I chose an Argonian because I thought he looked cool. When I saw he had a tail that didn't fit very well with most armor, I got mad but I learned to see how cool Argonians actually are.

Same here :) When I play the game I make choices based on gameplay, not lore/appearance. But even so, they have some pretty useful race stats. Waterbreathing & Resist Disease? Sign me up fam!
In skyrim, I think khajiit are the most useful. Early game your claws are actually better than most 1-handed weapons (and in brawls those claws are very useful), and the night vision is pretty useful in dark cave where you can't see more than 5 feet in front of you.

You're right, good point. I think I read somewhere that the further away the Argonians get from the Hist, the less the Hist can influence them. Also, I don't know what the Hist's intentions/motivations are, but so far they don't seem hell bent on world domination (though it still remains to be seen). They seem more motivated in protecting themselves and surviving. I don't think they have the desire and/or capacity to invade other provinces (at least not yet), which is why the Argonians haven't conquered Tamriel so far. That's my theory on it, anyway.

Orcs get beaten by magic actually, Argonians don't because they have a higher level of Alteration and Restoration which means they can resist to magic and melee.

It may not be that the Hist can see into the future, but that they have simply seen it before. I seem to recall that they are one of the few beings who can survive from one time cycle to the next.
