I hate when people say she got into Harvard because she is black. She actually worked for it. If the admissions people didn't believe she belonged there she wouldn't be there. When they see a black students application I doubt they immediately accept you.
layla lol nobody said that but it is kinda true I mean that is the whole point of affirmative action: to lower the standards for minorities to get into more prestigious colleges. It doesn’t mean that those minorities in prestigious schools didn’t deserve it. However it’s natural for people to question the true qualification somebody has given the things we know about affirmative action.
Hi I'm 13 years old in the 8th grade and I have dreamed of going to Harvard since I was about 6 years old. You're videos are so inspiring to watch because as an African American female it is encouraging to know that it is possible to get into an Ivy league university and accomplish you dreams. I love math and as I freshman I will be taking pre-calculus. I am apart of two outreach programs in my community and have never gotten lower than a B+ in more than 2 classes on my report card. Do you think that based on my accelerated math track I would have a strong chance of getting into Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, or Yale? Btw I you are really funny and really entertaining to watch keep doing you :)
+Taylor Stephens Hi! I'm not as qualified as her but I think I can help! You definitely have a great chance just remember that academic isn't the only thing colleges look for. Just balance yourself with something different like track or lacrosse and be a part of organizations at school. You're doing great! :))))
Hey Ahsahnte! It's wonderful to hear advice from an accomplished paragon as yourself. I'm 14 and an aspiring future Harvard (or any Ivy League/top-ranked) student, and hope to get there one day! Well wishes. :=)
This is the first video I have ever seen from your channel, and I am absolutely ecstatic that I stumbled along! Your vocabulary is astounding and you are hilarious!
Thanks so much for this! I've subscribed! I'm a rising senior and I'm taking higher level world history IB next year so your IB video was also very helpful! Hope to see Part 2 soon! Thanks :)
Hey its awesome to find a vlogger that goes to Harvard! I myself am an IB senior applying for Harvard this year, my teacher went there awhile back and he says I have what it takes (just gotta work on my tests scores). So thanks for this video and have a great day! :D
Awesome video. Its nice to see someone who has worked hard to acheive their goals. It has been a dream of mine to go to harvard and schools liken to harvard but, i have finally come to terms with the fact that harvard is adream no longer worth persuing. My GPA is WAY too low for Harvards standards, and my courseload is laughable compared to others. I think im finally ok with it though, especially after having a mental breakdown this summer. Once again great video.
When I see this video I feel more inspiration to do my dreams come true , I really want to get in to harvard I'm peruvian and I'm one of the first places I want to study law or something like that , I'm on 10° grade, middle school, well i hope you read this message and maybe my inglish its no soo good but I really want some help about it .Thank you so much , bless you.
OMG you read my mesage I´m so exited , Uhmmm I dont want to be annoying , but... I was thinking if you can talk with me about some advices for get in to harvard , but if you can´t dont worry I love you hahahah :3333
At the end you make me laugh so much🤣🤣🤣🤣. And thanks for the tips, right now I'm trying to get into Harvard and hopefully I can achieve my dreams, so thanks🤗
Thank you so much for this video! I am currently a 7th grader. My dream has always been to go to Harvard. I would like to be a physician when I grow up. Do you know if Harvard would be the best school for me? Or are they other Ivy League schools with a better medical school?
Glad you liked it! Harvard has a good medical school, but since it's a graduate program it doesn't matter whether you go to Harvard for undergrad or not. You have plenty of time, and there are several great colleges, so I would take time looking around and see which is best for you. Visiting the colleges can also help you decide which one feels best for you :)

Thank you so much. I am almost 13 and I have my eyes and heart set on Harvard. I take honors classes and have been studying for the SAT/ACT tests. (P.S. I also do GS an LOVE it). Can you please make a video on the admission process? Thx btw love the video
Same!! I'm 13/in 7th grade, and i've already taken all the advanced classes I can get at my middle school. I'm also already studying for the SATs. Good luck❤❤!!!
hahaha you really like me, you're so funny and so on. Thank you for sharing this advices. I am looking forward to attending into Harvard University, but first I need to do two things which are work to pay my tuition and also prepare to be accepted :D
at least be fluent in English to start. for the rest. loads of activities. good grades. and sports. I know we don't have math teams here in Europe. but you can take classes. far above average. and join clubs and courses. outside of school. I mentioned fluent English since a french man that speaks good English is rare.

Yes I keep trying to tell people that, it doesn't mean that it just means that you studied one subject and got a good grade on it. Smart means you can get through any circumstance and be quick witted enough to know what to do
Well, you were extremely light on specifics. For example, what Class Rank is required? What SAT scores are required? How good of an artist do you need to be? How is the quality of your art communicated to the Admissions Committee?
Im interested in getting into an IVY league school or at least a very good college. Im a freshman now, and i am not taking any AP classes. The two that were offered i did not get into. does this mean that even if i get into every other AP class in high school that IVY league colleges won't even glance at me because i didn't take these two AP classes freshman year? i am in all honors.
+AhsantetheArtist I'm only in middle school, but I have BIG aspirations to get into Harvard. But I've been put down by a couple of people telling me: "You won't get into Harvard, you won't get into Harvard." And TBH, this has kind of hurt me a little, what do you recommend me to do?
What are some things you can do in 7th and 8th grade? I know that some of these things you can do in middle school, bit middle schools dont have many activities or clubs (at least mine doesnt) and you cant create any
+peppergardenpals olive Just take the highest classes you can. Most middle schools offer high school classes. When I was in 7th I did Algebra 1 Honers and in 8th I did Bio Honers, Geometry Honers, and Global Perspective. Also try to maintain 3.8+ GPA throughout! If you're taking a high school class(es) try to maintain a 4.5+ wighted GPA. For now that will be great. High school is where you really need to worry about your grades. Most middle school also have NJHS or JHS (which you can continue in high school) that offers a lot of volunteer work opportunities and such. In Middle school you should definitely focus on your grades and stress level and start prepping for high school. It's so great you're already thinking about college and with such high aspirations. Best of luck! :)))
Now, I'm not going to try and come across as assblasted, but hahahaha. I'm sorry, but I'm going to go out on a limb and point out that supporting yourself and attempting to follow your passions is near impossible in this economy. Good to see the privileged kids giving advice!
If you want to take college advice from someone who has never had the privilege of going to college then go right ahead. Of course being able to be a full time student is a privilege, and I'm grateful for it. It's hard to be a full time student if you need to also have a full time job, and I'm not saying that everyone can afford it or the resulting debt. Most people that are in or applying to a 4yr college full time are not trying to fully support themselves yet, and therefore have at least a little free time to do something they enjoy.
And this is a video about college; I'm not saying your passion has to be your main job. You can usually find time to do something you love, just like ppl find time to watch TV and RUclips.
Hi, I know this is a really late comment but um I go to a homeschooling centre so the chances me getting involved in extra curricular activities (being president of clubs etc) is very minimal, literally 0. I'm 15 this year and I do want to get into harvard (clichè I know) but does doing charity work only helps?
+Rukan Parves Actually 12th is the least important because the colleges won't see your 12th grade final grades since you apply in 12th grade, so 9th, 10th and 11th are really important.
Omg hi iu you are such a great inspiration for me:)) just a quick question exactly how MUCH should I stand out of my high school peers like clubs, teams, etc. ty
Hi Jamie, that's great to hear! Well, it's kind of hard to quantify how much you can stand out from your peers, especially since you could stand out in a variety of different ways. You could stand out by holding a leadership position; you could stand out by being a consistent participant who is very active and committed; you could be doing a large variety or quantity of activities, or you could be exploring something unique that no one else is doing (or starting your own group). It really depends on your style and what you like to do. Also, I find it helps to not think about comparing yourself to others and just do the best that you can do according to your abilities. No one has the exact same set of interests, talents, resources, and background as you do, so the more you can play to those strengths the better.
omg omg i really thought no one would reply to this :DDD thankk you so much for the advice! i have another question, my family is not the wealthiest people and it would be nearly impossible to pay the full tution to an ivy league. do you have any thoughts on how i could save up money for such an expensive school besides the financial aid support?
Well what's great is that Harvard and some other schools offer financial aid to support the full extend of your financial need, so you shouldn't have to worry about saving up too much. It's always good to apply for merit based scholarships, and you can search for those online.
thanks alot :D your comments honestly helped me with alot of my confusions of the college process regarding harvard :)) and yeah im prob gonna have to work hard for those scholarships
***** My mom got her masters degree at Harvard. 4.0GPA undergrad and she she ranked number 4th in her whole class. She was apart of clubs and other thing. My grandfather went to Yale. I'm stupid but my grandfather said its all about selling yourself to them. My mom was a perfectionist of course that lead to her drinking and dying at a young age. But she was a great mom but she always stressed to to my best. But the scary thing is she really meant it. Its not even about the grades its about the relentless drive to prove to yourself that you can do it. Community service is also can help along with joining the military or peace core that can help pay for school plus it looks good on any resume along with job application. Remember you want to standout academically as well as in the community as well as in work. I got a letter of recommendation from my CEO which can do wonders. As my mom said anybody can do it but how bad to you want it and what are you willing to sacrifice in order to get in. Its scary how smart she was and how intense she was. She was laid back with me not like tiger mom but she believed in doing your best which means if you have regrets that you could have worked harder and smarter then you didnt work hard and smart enough. Her personality is alot like Michael Jordan. Weak people relax I like stress I thrive on it and take control of it, I like owning the situation. Any more advice feel free to inbox me. I would say best of luck but as my mom said is luck is for people who are unprepared. Your prepared you own this take control of your destiny or it will take control of you. Everything you do must be centered towards this goal. If your dating a guy and he says you study to much then dump him. Your priorities comes first and if you have to be selfish and egocentric about it then so be it. This is your future and nobody has more control of your future then you. So I wish you best of preparation and shoot me a message on anything else.
I am a 7Th grader and have always dreamed of going to Harvard . I currently have a 3.9 average , plus I am currently involved in science and skiing. I also study my butt off and intend to join AP astronomy and chemistry , what is your view point on the chance I could get in to Harvard or MIT
How do you prepare for SAT? I am in 8th sooo I wanna start preparing from now. Also how was your daily study routine? Like how much time you spend on each subject and how you practiced etc. I am sorry I am just curious I want to get into ivy and I am aiming for architecture. Also I am in the chess team and athletics team, does that boost up my chance?
superlolzee Chess and athletics sound great! I can't say I had that strict of a prep routine, I worked my way through some pretty standard prep books and practice tests. One great book to look at is Up Your Score.
if you're not athletic AT ALL and don't join any sports but have outstanding hours of community service and a lot of clubs and good grades + AP classes, do you think you will have a chance of getting into Harvard?
+Dani ivy leagues do NOT want well rounded students, they want students that have a big spike in something theyre passionate in... if what you want to do in life pertains to any of those clubs, find internships or advance on opportunities surrounding that
That's not necessarily true, it's possible to be well rounded and be passionate in one subject. For instance, I am passionate about science, space, and astrophysics. However, I played soccer or the Olympic development program, played travel soccer, and high school soccer. I am also a member of the crew team. I have over 200 hours of community my freshman year, and have a 3.9 GPA taking the hardest possible courses at a private school in Washington DC. It is important that you aren't one sided. However, you should show you are passionate and stick with it. Just cross country, it's generally a no cut sport and doesn't require past experience. It's also quite easy to get on the varsity team. Best of luck!
youve just repeated what i said, "well rounded but passionate in one subject" Is having a big spike in something youre passionate about but with so many areas to develop having to be athletic is small to the myriad of possibilites
I did have an interview, it wasn't scary though. It was in the coffee shop of a bookstore, she asked me about myself, my hobbies, what I was interested in at Harvard. And I also asked her about her research and her connection to the university. Not bad at all!
Hi, I'm currently in 10th grade and I wanna get into harvard but my grades weren't too good in ninth grade. But if i start getting good grades from this year, can i still get in? please answer. Your videos are amazing, btw.
As long as you stick with your passions and ensure that your grades improve from now on, then you may have a chance. And it never hurts to apply anyway! Good Luck! :D
hate to side with the first guy, but if youre not killing it right off the bat, its gonna be an uphill battle for harvard. with that being said, you should definitely apply if you feel harvard would be a good fit
Do you think that B's in my AP classes will reduce my chances of getting into Harvard? Would you recommend taking regular classes and getting an A or taking APs and getting a B?
Hi Ashante, I love your video. I am currently at community college, will I need to retake SAT, ACT if I want a good chance of acceptance into Ivy League Schools?
+Kayla Carlyle Hello, your SAT scores are valid for five years. Generally speaking, Ivy Leagues will ask for your ACT/SAT scores as apart of your transfer application, so if you are not confident about your scores you can retake them. As a community college student who plans on transferring to an Ivy League as well, I personally think it is a good idea to retake them because you may score even higher. You can always choose your best scores to submit. -Chanell E.
A 4.0 is great! I'm not sure what you mean by averages, my school had GPA as well. You would send the college your official transcript, which I presume would have the final grades from your classes, GPA, and weighted GPA if that is applicable
Hey there, people. Im Caroline, and like most of people here I'll love to get into harvard and I've dedicated most of my teenage to that purpose. I'll love to make a KIK GROUP for people like me (Harvard aspirants) to discuss ideas. If you're interest, please don't hesitate and let me know. Thanks!
Hello I'm a junior and I had somewhat good grades and bad in both freshman and sophomore year and I'm trying my hardest to get them up so I can go for good universities like Harvard is it too late?
+Noemi Luna Hi there, it just depends on whether you can get your GPA up to the average, along with the SATs, check out my "Harvard SAT Scores" video for more info :)
how much does it cost for MBA in Harvard business school .tuition fee is it alot or acceptable...thnks for the video u r among the lucky ones and its my dream to b in harvard business school
+AhsantetheArtist thanks for the response ....i want to ask to one more question....what u did as extra curricular activities ,, apart from ur academic gpa, so it will help me.to think about something effective and Is 3.7gpa out of 4.0 is good enough ..as B.Sc in accounting to apply in hbs....thanks a lot again keep up yhe good work...peace
+Nia Violin You're definitely on the right track. Mine is 3.9 currently (Im a senior) You're doing great. BTW if you're wondering my weighted GPA is 4.9 so yes you're doing amazing! Try to aim higher even though you're at a perfect place cause maybe you'll be at an even more perfect place! :)))
I hate when people say she got into Harvard because she is black. She actually worked for it. If the admissions people didn't believe she belonged there she wouldn't be there. When they see a black students application I doubt they immediately accept you.

Average Joe, so what would you say to the Asian student with 1500 SAT’s, and Class Rank of 1, that got rejected?
It is a minor factor not gonna lie

Wow, nice tips! I really to get into Hrvard.
You can join college confidential. They have a homeschooling forum that helps with stuff like that.
Thanks 👍
Do you need a summer school to get in.I mean what if I do good extracurriculars, will they both weigh the same in my application?.
yayy I liked it..and I learned too..thank you
Hooray! You're welcome!
I know this quite irrelevant, but does anybody have any tips on how I could make it to the NBA from England (U.K.)?
all these videos are also apllicable if we are planing to go into havard law school ?Reply soon
Please tell me if your grades count in middle school and if you did well when you were in 7th and 8th grade!!?? Thanks so much!
makeuplover Hey! Yes, I did well in throughout middle school, but no those grades don't count. It's only your official high school transcript.
+AhsantetheArtist What about 9th and 10th grade?
+Danni Love it will be counted, but 11 and 12 are the most important, but I'm not sure
+Dani 9th & 10th count!
+Rukan Parves Actually 12th is the least important because the colleges won't see your 12th grade final grades since you apply in 12th grade, so 9th, 10th and 11th are really important.
How many AP classes did you take in high school? I have the GPA and test scores, but idk if 6 APs is enough to get in...
What was your sat score
Is it super important to do clubs freshman year. I wasn't in any school clubs or sports freshman year but I did competitive dance.
I can't seem to find the part 2
Iman A I don't think she has uploaded it yet. Maybe I'm wrong, though.
You're headed in the right direction for sure! Keep up the good work and you have a chance!
How are you doing now
How do you prepare for SAT? I am in 8th sooo I wanna start preparing from now.
Also how was your daily study routine? Like how much time you spend on each subject and how you practiced etc. I am sorry I am just curious I want to get into ivy and I am aiming for architecture. Also I am in the chess team and athletics team, does that boost up my chance?
superlolzee Chess and athletics sound great! I can't say I had that strict of a prep routine, I worked my way through some pretty standard prep books and practice tests. One great book to look at is Up Your Score.
if you're not athletic AT ALL and don't join any sports but have outstanding hours of community service and a lot of clubs and good grades + AP classes, do you think you will have a chance of getting into Harvard?
no, you must be well rounded
True. However, playing a sport often has a positive effect on grades and is a great stress receiver.
Im in forth grade I want to be an engineering and build car that was very useful so thank you
Also, did you have to have an interview, and if so was it scary, and what kind of questions were asked?
I did have an interview, it wasn't scary though. It was in the coffee shop of a bookstore, she asked me about myself, my hobbies, what I was interested in at Harvard. And I also asked her about her research and her connection to the university. Not bad at all!
AhsantetheArtist Ok thank you so much
AhsantetheArtist Wow, how nerve-wracking!
Do u think I should be worrying at age 12
My high school has like 30 AP courses to choose from but still feel like I'm missing out because there is no IB classes at my school
Hi, I'm currently in 10th grade and I wanna get into harvard but my grades weren't too good in ninth grade. But if i start getting good grades from this year, can i still get in? please answer. Your videos are amazing, btw.
no
Naturally, yes. They love academic growth. GOOD LUCK! You can do it!
There's a lot of amazing schools out there, Harvard isn't the only one 😊
Thanks for this video :) !! U r AWESOME!! Please upload part 2 soon.... ^_^
Thanks for watching! I have a few vlogs to do, but I'm working on part 2 and should have it up this month.
Which subject are you majoring in at Harvard ?
Do you think that B's in my AP classes will reduce my chances of getting into Harvard? Would you recommend taking regular classes and getting an A or taking APs and getting a B?
Definitely go for the AP classes! Better to see rigorous courses
Hi just asking because I couldn't find it anywhere does harvard have aerodynamics? Or aerospace? I plan to become a pilot
Not that I know of. Harvard makes it a point to be a liberal arts, non-technical, non-vocational school, so it wouldn't necessarily teach you a trade.
Hey I have a question , did you have perfect scores throughout your high school? Like all the way from grade 10/11? Or simply in grade 12?
Well, I would recommend trying to get good grades throughout HS, as you have a deadline to apply before senior year.
Is Harvard hard? Bc I keep hearing both ways
Hi Ashante, I love your video. I am currently at community college, will I need to retake SAT, ACT if I want a good chance of acceptance into Ivy League Schools?
Thanks Kayla! Hmm, I'm not sure, you should probably look up how long the scores last. Also I know the SAT is changing, so yeah I'd look it up
+Kayla Carlyle Hello, your SAT scores are valid for five years. -Chanell E.
Thank you Chanell Eskridge
Or does anybody have any tips on how I could possibly get into an American Sports University from England, (U.K.)?
Try practicing a lot and aim for a scholarship... hope this helps!!!
+Kitty meow Do they hand out scholarships in Uni though?
do you need to get all A first semester of highschool in freshmen year or can you improve
Hopefully you have mostly all As if you're trying for Harvard, otherwise there are several other great colleges!
What was you weighted gpa/class rank/act/ sat scores????
i have like a unweighted 4.0 gpa out of 4.0 is this good????
ALso do colleges see your averages?? My school just has gpa..
A 4.0 is great! I'm not sure what you mean by averages, my school had GPA as well. You would send the college your official transcript, which I presume would have the final grades from your classes, GPA, and weighted GPA if that is applicable
I have Ap classes but still having English support class does this sound ok in college application please replay 😧😧😧😧
How many ap classes do I have to take?
+Daniel Ryu No set number, but as many as you can manage would be ideal.
hey can you go to harvard from any city in WORLD?
+Nina Simic Yes!

AhsantetheArtist thank you :)
Do languages count as an extra curricular?
james harrison I would count languages as a skill rather than an extra curricular. Extra curriculars are more like activities.
after watching that subscribe part I felt like u too like south park.
how much does it cost for MBA in Harvard business school .tuition fee is it alot or acceptable...thnks for the video u r among the lucky ones and its my dream to b in harvard business school
thaqib alghazali Thanks! I'd check online for that kind of info, it'll most likely be updated by Harvard.
