    Hi Amanda. I'm really glad I found this tutorial. I've been trying to find a pattern I wanted to make a blanket out of. I have stitched up your blanket in a smaller size. I can't wait to get the yarn and make it into a bigger blanket. Blanket is for my grandson. I think he'll love it. I know I like how easy it is anyway. I only have one thing I would like to say it's not really that bad but I could not hear you very well so I had to turn my volume all the way up and when an add came on it was so loud. Anyway thank you Amanda see you later

      Hi Jodi! Some of my older videos are a bit harder to hear as I was using different software. I have another version of this stitch worked into a blanket. Hopefully it’s a little easier for you. And hope your grandson enjoys his new blanket 😊 ruclips.net/video/b81vJ3QKcQs/видео.html

    I'm wanting to make a blanket for my 16 year old rescue cat Cookie. She destroyed one I made in double crochet row repeats as her claws kept getting stuck in the stitches. This one looks dense and might be better. I do trim the ends off her claws which helps her and she's happier. As I am lol 😂. I also love the Suzette stitch. Made a scarf 🧣 in this stitch. Thank you, I'll try this one and if she's not happy with it, I can give it to a friend for her new cat.

      I would say either this stitch or the Sedge Stitch (I have a tutorial on my channel for this stitch as well) would be great, dense stitches for your adorable rescue Cookie. I'm sure she would love something soft to cuddle up in. Thanks for rescuing an animal in need :)

    Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to try it out. The only thing missing is how you finished the blanket. Meaning, is there another stitch that you have to do to tie it off? Can a border be put on it? Or will it make the blanket look bad with a border? I do apologize, I'm just asking questions.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад

      For this video, this is simply a tutorial on how to make the blanket stitch. However, if you wanted to make a blanket with this stitch, to end the blanket, you will simply work your last stitch and then make a slip stitch. Yes, you can add a border to this blanket. If you check out my video Aqua Breeze Baby Blanket video, I show you how to make a ribbed border. This blanket uses the same blanket stitch shown in this video.

    I would like to try this pattern and I am new to crocheting. I have taught myself by watching videos. So far I have only made baby blankets and I would like to try this pattern for a regular sized afghan with Caron cake bulky yarn. Can you guide me in how many single chains I should start with for the width of a regular size afghan? I know you said multiple of 3. Also, how many Caron Cakes should I order? I would hate to start my afghan and not have enough yarn to finish. Thanks for your help!

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  5 лет назад +1

      Dee Boyd hello! I would say try a chain of 264 for a twin size bed blanket. As far as how many cakes, I used 2.5 cakes of the Caron big cake yarn for my baby blanket. I’m not sure how many of the bulky weight cakes you should get, but my guess would be maybe 6-8? You would need at least 3-4 to complete my baby blanket example in this video. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the pattern and please let me know what you think about the border.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  4 года назад +2

      It would depend on how big you want your blanket and your gauge. Say you want to have a throw blanket, you would need about 176 whereas a queen size bed would be about 270. You could always chain a multiple of 3 until you get your desired width as well :)

    This is a great EASY pattern. I completed a baby blanket, but didn't do my last row (yet) because it looks "scalloped" vs. the starting row, which is straight. I wanted to check if there was a way as to not have the subtle bumps. None of the directions say how to remedy this. I don't wish to put a border on, so I'd just like both the top and bottom to be straight across in appearance. It's a lovely pattern, but with this small bumpy edge, it appears more feminine, if that makes sense. I know I've made the pattern correctly, but no instructions say how to remedy this minor issue.
    Also, is there a way to crochet this on the bias, like a C2C blanket in this stitch? I prefer this stitch, plus there are no large holes between stitches. Maybe it's just not possible, but it would be interesting if it could be done.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  4 года назад +1

      Thank you! I'm glad you love this stitch as much as I do. I understand what you mean about the subtle bumps at the top. Maybe you could work two rows of single crochet stitches to see if that would help even things out? I haven't really tried it myself as I've always worked a border.
      As far as making this using a C2C method, I'm sure it could be done, but I haven't seen it myself. I've only seen a granny C2C stitch and a moss C2C stitch done in this way. I agree, it would be interesting if it could be made this way!

      @NK-4628 4 года назад

      @@AmandaCrochets thank you for replying. I never thought of just SC across the top... I'm glad I didn't finish off the blankets yet because I'll have to try that. I was thinking something with a SC and/or a slip stitch, but wasn't sure. It's not too bad with a feminine blanket, but if I was going to make one for (my teenage son for instance), I wouldn't necessarily want a scalloped appearance to end it with.
