I‘m just wondering why you are using a pull chain light socket then controlling the light with a wall switch. Seems like redundancy.
I have a question, I have only 3 wires in that same set up. The light is already in place and 2 switches as well. I installed switch/outlet just like that and the outlet does not work, would that indicate that the feed wire in and feed out are needing swapped?
I have an outlet, no light connected, just an outlet. I want to install a combo, and wire it so the switch controls the power to the outlet. The switch turns the outlet on and off. If I plug a light in the outlet, the switch right above the plug will turn the light on and off.
Hot coming from a light to a switch only. How and can I add a plug receptacle beside, lol cut wall for double gang box, plus old house the white wire was hot black was common
@ Starving Electrician I already have a switch plug combo in my kitchen it's not by a sink an it's an old house it burned out so all I have to do is wire it back the same way correct and make sure hot is on right and neutral on left correct? Also I should tedt and see which sound is the loudest to determine hot remember I have those old wires
@Starving Electrician I'm lost why did you tie up the white wires and black wires and green wires together like how many wires are there totally 8n old houses you'll see three wires in there I had an issue installing mines because the white I supposed to be neutral but it went to the gold screw and the little wire went to the silver one the black went to the black screw help me understand that concept
I have trouble holding 3 or 4 wires together, to get the pliers on them.
Make sure you strip about an inch of wire, maybe more with 12 gauge. Line up all the stripped ends at the end of the insulation. You can use a layer or 2 of electrical tape to hold them together. Wrap the tape around the insulation, about a half inch from the stripped ends, this will help in holding the wires together. With 3 wires wrap them in a triangular pattern, with 4, a square pattern. Use linesman's pliers (Klein's), they will give you a better grip because of the width and heft. After the wires are twisted you can leave the tape alone or remove it.

@@fredericl6190 I think the use same as here i.e. Wagos. I do not know if they are illegal but nobody uses them. Wagos are much faster.

Yeah like in the front of your video you have a brick wall installing a circuit box there for your socket, I want to put drywall in front of my brick wall my home is made out of cinder block and I'm going to need an extension and more wire to pull it out show me a video about that how you can improve it thank you
