One of the best videos I stumbled on. Me being an advanced certified and EANx always wondered why people making vlogs of Andamans/Maldives just do DSDs and leave. Wish there were detailed diving vlogs & underwater photography in India. Hope this video serves as an inspiration to everyone and change the one track mindedness of people. Awesome job Richa Malik. Happy & safe diving!!

That was a nice interview at a very different level. But what intrigues me is how Richa's current company working on a plastic free environment, connects with her scuba experience. Still, kudos to her grit and determination.

U need 2 b of good health. The job is quite demanding physically. Equipment is quite heavy, swimming against the current (drift dive - maldivian style) can be very challenging. It's wonderful to make a couple of dozens dives on vacation. Sure u can sustain 2-3 dives a day for months? Guys often say that they feel like teabags. Real fun is to dive where you don't live: Egypt, Maldives, Carribean etc, etc. BUT! It means u r alone. That lifestyle is not for family people. As a divemaster - instructor u get about 2k usd/month at best and u have to move to other locations quite often.
As for "careers" in scuba diving. 1st step - divemaster. Guides divers on dive sites. 2 dives a day, helps at a dive center. 2nd step - instructor. Entitled to teach recreational divers different qualifications (most income comes from this activity), guides dive sites. Dive center supervisor is an administrative position. They do dive but not much at all.
It's ok when u r young and do it for several years. After that it's time to move on...

You are better doing a commercial or navy diving course than PADI after open water certifications.
PADI is just for tourist divers. Navy and commercial are paid properly and work as a team. Even doing mine clearance or saturation diving. Or even TV work diving not just scuba but also surface demand supply diving brass helmets if you like.

    • @itzmehashir
      @itzmehashir 2 года назад

could you please elaborate... where I can do this commercial diving course? how much would the price?
does it have to be the expensive one?
is it mandate to do the open water course before that

      In the uk.
They are not cheap there are some who do different things. It may be an idea to join royal navy . If you have the aotitude theyll train you as a ships or clearance diver.
If you want just commercial diver there are severl diciplines. Foet william in scotland there are two or three organisations who do this there are 3 levls 1 2 and 3.
Also there are units in plymouth, southampton doing simular one is andark.
The other dive uk if still operational.
You dont need to be a diver to start, but it is helpful if you do. If you did bsac sport diver certification or padi open water or simular to start with may be helpful to you.
You will need a certified diving medical from merchant navy aproved doctor to start with. I think its called eng 1.
I f you contact maritime and coastguard agency, spring place southampton. They may be able to tell you what you need to do and where to do this. As its changed a bit since my time.
      Hope it helps

    • @itzmehashir

Yup but I'm from India.so i can't join the Navy and all in UK right.coastguard also I guess

      @@itzmehashir
Okay, i am sure there is something in india that is simular to what we have.
Maybe best to start with padi or something see if you like it before joining the indian navy.
I think you need to do some research locally to you.
A lot of diving these day is by rov, robotic opertational vehicles and if you want to do sat saturation diving that from diving bells its like living in a submarine under pressure for months at a time.
You could try tv diving making wild life programes and diving.
      Hope it helps

hello, i have major question which disturbs the mind of most youngsters. if one have done a 3year bachler degree in india, how can we study masters in canada as canadian universities need 4year bachler or total 16year education to qualify for MS.
SO IF ONE LIKE ME WHO HAVE 3YEARS INDIAN BACHLER DEGREE, CANNOT STUDY MASTERS IN CANADA?
WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY(ANYONE CAN ANSWER THATS URGENT).
    THANKS.

Hi Aman, thanks for your question. We have addressed this concern in a few of our earlier videos. Most colleges require 16 years of education, which means a 3 year bachelors and a completed masters. Doing one year of a masters program would usually not qualify. However, there are some colleges that accept the 15 years as well
