Wow... What a great tune.. The sad thing is everyone in every nation can relate to it.... that can't be right! Hope you play this at The Albert Hall john? Stay free & Rock on man...
John fogerty I love to here housing and play that guitar, your performance is great, you are great sweetheart. I love the song ,you sing broken down cowboy.most of us who understands the meaning of the song, have been there, its a true words song,I hope someday, I get to see you perform and of course hear your beautiful music,John I think you are awesome. Im your fan always. my name:is priscilla Rowden.!!God bless you sweetheart always. Amen. !!!!!
John is still great I saw him twice at the Filmore East and at Madison Square Garden CCR was great this was back around 1969 I thought the drummer was going to break those skins he was drumming so hard on Born on the Bayou Concerts were great when you're a teenager John still has it he's changed but as good as ever
Fogerty s voice is great and gotten better over time. Nobody sings his songs better than he does. Anyone who says different has their head up their ass.
i love the song and have always loved John Fogerty. The political metaphor is good and easy to see but couldn't be more wrong. We need the whole POSSE! Stand firm, stand united and stand justified in our cause to restore this great Republic to its proper place as one sovereign nation under one sovereign God and Father of all!
Looking out across this town Kinda makes me wonder how All the things that made us great Got left so far behind This used to be a peaceful place Decent folks, hard working ways Now they hide behind locked doors Afraid to speak their mind I think we need a gunslinger Somebody tough to tame this town I think we need a gunslinger There'll be justice all around Someone let the fences go While that bunch moved in, you know Shooting up the streets Shoutin' everybody down The dogs all running loose Wreck the paper Closed the school Tired ol' judge got roughed up too No one left to make a stand They whisper, "what's the use" I think we need a gunslinger Somebody tough to tame this town I think we need a gunslinger There'll be justice all around I think we need a gunslinger Somebody tough to tame this town Think we need a gunslinger There'll be justice all around I think we need a gunslinger Somebody tough to tame this town I think we need a gunslinger There'll be justice all around
John Fogerty in his Prime CCR era voice was untouchable. One of the best vocalist to ever live. With such a unique growl and tremendous power in his voice. (Which he developed trying to sing over the instruments in the early days as they had no PA system) Somewhere along the line from either excessive strain / the long lay off from when the band split he lost the growl. But in my opinion he's still fantastic, vocally and of course probably the most underrated/ under-appreciated guitarist out there. I've taken a real liking to the older softer voice of Johns as well. Either way the man still has it! Just went to one of his concerts and there was no intermissions at all. Straight through for a good 2-3 hours. Impressive really. Truly a perfectionist, a music legend, rock n' roll icon and still full of energy.
Leonard Collins Music, such as food and furniture, is a matter of personal taste (I dislike pizza with salami and I like very much pizza with zucchini or arugula): 1) he did not wrote the best songs I know (Candle in the Wind, Bridge Over Troubled Water, A Whiter Shade of Pale, Homburg, The Long and Winding Road, Imagine, Let it Be, Lady Jane, and a few others), but I like very much John as he is the musician that has written the greatest number of very nice songs, his covers of other songs are allways the best arrangement of them and the covers of his songs are allways worse than his arrangement; 2) I do not like his voice. Paul Mc Cartney has a better voice, Elton John much better, Jovanotti (now) wonderful (hear "A te"), not to speak of Elvis Presley. My wife is more severe: she dislikes it and says that John seems an angry cat, especially in his Prime CCR era. Also me I do not like some excess of that era. For example atrocoius (for me) is his performance of Long As I can See the Light; 3) instead I like very much how he plays guitar. My favourite guitarist is Hank B. Marvin, but also John has a great tastefullness in playing guitar. At the opposite side I hated Jimi Hendrix and I find featureless Eric Clapton.
Thanks for you're opinion and reply. Yeah I get that for sure. A matter of personal taste definitely. I liked is voice and power and growl back then as much as I like the softness to it today. It was perfect for his style. The bluesy type rock n'rock and made him unique. I don't know any songs that he's put out that I could say that i didn't like. I think he put out the most consecutive great hits. and in that short amount of time is impressive. People went to war listening to those tunes. So badass. His songs never fail to get people moving. Especially after a few cold ones. Wish we had more of these all time greats today. Music today for the most part is garbage. I am on 24, but i really wish I could go back to that era. Everyone back then had their own unique sound and personality and today its all electronic and for the most part often sounds the same. Especially New country lol. Rather listen to the country classics any day.
Leonard Collins Not so for me: I really disliked some CCR songs. To compare two political songs, Fortunate Son sounds for my ears disgusting, while Deja Vue sounds very very very fine. Allways for my tastes, in effect Fogerty sang a masterpiece, the arrangement of Wrote a Song for Everyone he played at Bonnaroo: a very ritmic song but which sounds sad. Instead the CCR arrangement was mediocre. But sometimes the CCR arrangement was better than the actual: Lodi and Proud Mary sounded sweetly and I like them very much.
Wow, great song John!! One of the best ever..
A terrific song from a superb album!
He's got an anti-Bush song on the album, and a song like this at the same time.
Shows what an individual he is.
Super Song and Super Artist !!!! Fogerty forever
Greetings from holland
one of my favorites!!-thanks again.I love ''Revival''
Wow... What a great tune.. The sad thing is everyone in every nation can relate to it.... that can't be right!

Gubben är KUNG!
Looking out across this town
Kinda makes me wonder how
All the things that made us great
Got left so far behind
This used to be a peaceful place
Decent folks, hard working ways
Now they hide behind locked doors
Afraid to speak their mind
I think we need a gunslinger
Somebody tough to tame this town
I think we need a gunslinger
There'll be justice all around
Someone let the fences go
While that bunch moved in, you know
Shooting up the streets
Shoutin' everybody down
The dogs all running loose
Wreck the paper
Closed the school
Tired ol' judge got roughed up too
No one left to make a stand
They whisper, "what's the use"
I think we need a gunslinger
Somebody tough to tame this town
I think we need a gunslinger
There'll be justice all around
I think we need a gunslinger
Somebody tough to tame this town
Think we need a gunslinger
There'll be justice all around
I think we need a gunslinger
Somebody tough to tame this town
I think we need a gunslinger
There'll be justice all around
To TimJ from 7 years ago, the glossy look is still there. Maybe the corner is coming where the turn isfor the kids start to like "MUSIC" again.
He must be from southern Oakland.
Someone who carries a gun like a sherrif, but I think he's just saying people aren't brave enough these days.
lol
He's a vocal stylist. Like Willie Nelson or Jimi Hendrix. lol
very nice.
This should be played at President Trump's Rally's!!
What about Bob Dylan?
Did they see President Trump coming? MAGA!
Hmmm.... Stephen King, the "Dark Towers"? Haha
Trump MAGA
black ladu
Very nice song, but in part it reminds me Who'll Stop the Rain and as allways his music is better than his voice. Delightful the guitars.

His voice is exactly how it should be! Fantastic.
John fogerty is only good
I think we need a CCR
I agree on that, his singing is terrible and has become even worse with time. That's why they say everyone else does better versions of his own songs.
shut up
AWESOME!!!
