Huntsville Alabama, 1969. I was was stationed at Redstone Arsenal. Fresh out of boot camp and the S.F Bay Area. The Bayou Country album came out and one of us bought the 8-track. One of my buddies just bought a new ‘69 Pontiac Firebird and we loaded that 8-track into his Craig tape deck, cranked the volume up to broil, windows down we cruised up and down The Parkway, then the main drag in Huntsville, blasting CCR until our ears were ringing. Yeah, I know, pretty stupid. But we were young and that music wasn’t like anything else at that time. One of my fond memories of my youth.
First time I met John was in the early 1960,s he along with Brother Tom had a Band called THE GOLLIWOGS,He told me the incredible sound came from singing without p A Systems and Amps. All these 50 plus years later J.C.Fogerty remains INCREDIBLE!!!
John and ccr rocks. I really found ccr&john when I was 16(My father and uncle discovered ccr as early as the 70s😀so I already kind of knew who john was.) now I am 29 and I still listen fogerty's music almost every day🙂
JOHN FOGERTY WAS CCR WITHOUT HIM THERE WAS NO CCR I WILL SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT PLAY BLUE BOY PLAY THANKS MR FOGERTY FOR THE MEMORIES I LIVED IN THE 70TS!!
Just like John Fogertys songs are; This is another ass kicker. I admire his love for New Orleans even though I don't live there. You can hear a touch of the Bayou when you listen to most of his music. Go Johnny Go!!
Great song, he played this and a bunch of "old greats" at Gröna Lund in Stockholm this past weekend. Despite having minor soundmixing problems (ex: had to stop the intro to The night time is the right time and tell the sound guy to adjust the levels) the gig was AWESOME! A true legend who still delivers on stage, thank you Mr F for being such a source of musical inspiration!!
Going to be there, as well. Wanted to see him a couple of years ago here, but fell off the roof and broke both of my legs, so had to pass it up. But, boy, am I ever looking forward to Monday night! I really like this ytne. it' too bad he doesn't do it on tour.
kick ass tune. DROOLING over that gold top. Theres some backstage footage of this gig floating around on YT, hes got a bunch of Marshall heads stacked up somewhere on the side of the stage. Gibson soapbars pushing an overdriven marshall = tone HEAVEN for days
I can't figure out where the G# at 2:37 came from. It's definitely from a guitar, but Fogerty's is the only one, and neither of his hands moved when the note sounded. Does that mean the whole song was mimed? Surely not...
I would just like to thank John for this the song is one of the last songs that made my mother get up and shake her butt. it was the last time I danced with my mother.
What a legend this guy truly is. No one sounds like Fogerty
Nobody can deliver this kind of catching music like John Fogerty - CCR is still alive👍
This track will never get old . Turn it up and sing along 🥰
John Fogerty my favorite of all time!!!!!

Just like John Fogertys songs are; This is another ass kicker. I admire his love for New Orleans even though I don't live there. You can hear a touch of the Bayou when you listen to most of his music. Go Johnny Go!!
