Hello, quick note about this video.
    1. It was made in good fun and if you think this is what anger looks like you have never seen a real angry person.
    2. I also support socialism so you might as well hate on me for that.
    3. For those who watched the first 3min and already got angry you are better off just walking away it just gets more triggering
    4. I don’t hate you for disagreeing with me. I only dislike you if you hate on my for having an opinion other than yours.
    5. I am not reading any comments anymore on this video. They have gotten so bad and so sexist that for my own mental health I am sticking to avoiding it but feel free to fight amongst each other or you know just validate your own hate.
And for those who can agree to disagree you are the real MVPs and act like normal humans.
More hot takes in your near future XOXO

When you were criticising him about a bad analogy, you made a bad one yourself. Why are you comparing Destiny 2 a co-op, open world looter shooter to a hero shooter?
OW1 got away with a paid start because it was basically the first of it's kind. After other competitors start to move in, they had to innovate and make it accessible to be competitive. So they went f2p. They shouldn't ask for a price when the genre whas shifted. If they released when the hero shooter was new, they could have. But the hero shooter environment has shifted now. And they failed to see that.

I think you missed what he said. He said that with new IPs, a studio should start with a smaller team so that the vision of the new IP wouldn't keep expanding and be feature crept. Having a smaller team means lesser resources, which means devs have to resort to their creativity to sell the game.
Undertale was a small game with a small budget. But the small team and budget forced them to be creative to sell the game. It was one of the biggest games ever. Even the devs aren't even that savvy in coding. The game's code is written in a very bloated way.

I can firmly say you are in minority here when in comes to the character design. When this game first released in the Playstation Showcase, the immediate reaction by viewers was very negative or dismissive. When I first saw it, I thought it was going to be a discount Guardians of the Galaxy with a Borderlands style gameplay. Then I heard 5v5 class shooter and lost interest.
On RUclips, there are multiple design artists who have hour-long videos going over each and every character on why they don't work or don't appeal to general audiences. Some of whom are fellow Vtubers. Citing Art Color Theory and how shapes can be used to communicate specific roles in a team roster. I recommend checking them out, because unlike the ActMan, they do creative design for a living and can give more concrete explanations beyond just "it's cringe."
Admittedly, the Trash Can robot is the one that is getting the least amount of criticism. Personally, I think he looks funny, like a rice cooker mixed with Jake the Dog from Adventure Time.

@@camellia_vt I don't disagree with that sentiment. But my comment was to point out that even BEFORE people found out the game was a 5v5 Overwatch clone, people were turned off by the game based on appearances alone. The news that it was a 5v5 hero shooter was basically one wet blanket over the mud pile that was the announcement. While Act Man's takes were over-the-top, it does match the general mood the gaming community had. I haven't even seen the game developers try to defend their own designs.
Like you, I don't like hero shooters, but it is still a very popular genre of games. However, in a time when Overwatch 2 (the reigning king of Hero Shooters) is declining, with millions of players still logging in to Valorant and Apex Legends every week, with hype surrounding Marvel Rivals, and the success of DeadLock (a game that is still in Alpha and doesn't even have a teaser yet); Concord, a game that's been developed with the full support of Sony for 6-8 years flopped and died. Not at launch, but at ANNOUNCEMENT. You can't just sweep that under the rug just by saying the problem was that the game is a 5v5.
I'm not saying the game being a generic 5v5 wasn't an issue, it definitely was; but there were a host of other issues and circumstances that contributed to the failure. Appearances, first impressions, being one of them.

Correction 400 million dollars and that is before the studio was purchased (100-150 was the estimate when he made the video). The reason this game failure matters is simple. They refused to listen to the actual customer base instead decided to slander them. This is a big flare to the gaming industry and media organizations. Stop making products for dumb people on twitter start marking games for your customer base. Camellia mentions that this game paid peoples wages. Well the studio will most likely be shut down for this and when they go for a new job it will be awkward to explain the 8 year gap that it took to develop this. @@camellia_vt It's a sensitive subject for many people due to the controversy in the US around DEI, and this game failing supports their narrative that DEI is always bad. That's the main reason why it "matters" to people and is causing such a stir.

Look. No offense, but Three things(Three VERY long things)
    A. “$400 Million Dollars(that apparently Excludes the cost of recruiting the team as an aside)? That just means that the ones making this game got a living wage working on it” That point just seems Irrelevant to me. Because even if the ones making the product are treated amazingly(which I do support to clarify. We don’t need any more EA, Konami, Blizzard, or Ubisoft. Joshscorcher’s fails list could prove for good reaction content to help explain why), all that revenue is gonna sink and sink if the product they’re making doesn’t turn a profit. To use Food Preparation as an example analogy. You could treat the cooks Amazingly, but no one’s gonna want to Eat the food if it winds up tasting horribly. Which means that all that time, effort, and money used to prepare it? You can’t get that back, meaning the cooks’ pay won’t last long
    B. I find it kinda contradictory to blame Act Man for making a big stink about a subjective being negative, when a good chunk of your video is making a big stink about a subjective being Positive. For example, the Trash Can robot. You’re allowed to like it, no one is stopping you. But with the way you shout your points, it sounds like he’s personally attacking the waste bin bot. It’s part of the reason Other comments got the impression that you were rude in this video. And while not intentional, you do clarify that your take shouldn’t be taken as gospel. But that only happens in One small section near the Very end of the video. Combining that with assumptions like “He would be all over these characters if they were hot”, it accidentally gives viewers the impression that you’re belittling his takes rather than trying to have a debate around them. I personally would frame these kinds of opinions like such, “I’m gonna have to disagree with you on the take of making the characters more conventionally attractive being an easy way to make the audiences love them. The shades of green on Emari’s armor have all kinds of saturation issues, mixing dull, Puke green with random splotches of vibrant pink and red. The aforementioned Trash bot is just an under designed yellow dome with arms, legs, and a visor. And Roka is the worst of both. Color palette issues And a lack of detail. With all due respect, these are the reasons I can’t agree with you”. Granted you don’t have to word it Exactly like that, but calmly explain why you like or dislike something, and cut back on assumptions and wording like “What?! You mean this ISN’T for Cis White Men”, and inadvertently fanning the flames of stuff like those stupid “Woke vs Anti Woke” arguments going around online at the mere Mention of the letters “DEI”
    C. “Who are you to stop them from making a bad game” …Okay, nothing against you, and I’m sure you thought it was a benign and innocent take to make, but that is one of the Worst takes I’ve ever heard in relation to good or bad media. Even if you’re not entitled to tell Sony what to make and what Not to make, it’s at least fair to expect and hope for a level of quality, and at least a Serviceable product. To use a different kind of game as our last example metaphor, it’s like walking up to someone voicing complaints about something like Sonic 06, and telling that someone “Who are you to say that the game was a failure”, when that game is Infamous for being a buggy mess with one of the most convoluted plots in the history of gaming. And this is before taking into account that Concord is a full priced game…WITH all the predatory Free to Play schemes like Microtransactions. I’m sure you had only the best intentions saying that, and I do not want to imply that I’m bashing your takes or you as a person. But the wording for that could’ve been a Lot different, sounding like “Why are you acting entitled enough to Criticize this game, and call it a failure” when in Most books, it counts as a failure, being the most generic shooter game ever, with most of the character designs being “Green guy” or “Purple Guy”, and the trappings of what’s wrong with games like Star Wars Battlefront 2
In summary- Good intentions, but wonky delivery and wonkier wording damage your points more than support them

Because if it isn't then I would have just wasted my time in buying and playing, when there are free-to-play games that are better than Condord in it's own field and have proven their worth and value overtime even if slightly faded now. Now Let's look at it from a broader perspective, the game itself had costed hundreds of millions of dollars, if they do not at least break even then it IS a waste of time. A waste of time, money, and effort for the players, developers, directors, and investors, along with the company. Because here's the thing, for gaming companies like this, sure it's nice to have that minority who enjoy it. But that's not what they're looking for with that 400 million dollar budget. The people who made and played the game have better things to do with their money, you can't pay off bills with goodwill and compliments. What made games like overwatch who first had a paying price before going f2p good, was not because of the price, it was because it was a good game that hit all the right marks. Look at HoloCure, it's completely free but still excellent. Sure, the transition from Overwatch 1 to 2 is bad, but what else do you expect with such a transition? That was done just so they had an excuse for more microtransactions. It seems that Once Human is another good free game if the reviews are anything to go by. So long as they aren't all pay to win or anything else just as bad, things are fine. 10 minutes into your video and I was fed up with listening to you because you weren't even listening to the points actually being made, you just heard part of what he said and cut him off to dismiss his points before he even clarified what they were. Even if you don't agree with the point being made, you should still actually listen to it, because it may have information or insight you didn't have. And if they are wrong you now have at least listened in good faith and can reasonably dispute their Actual points.
Instead, by constantly interrupting the video, taking all points in bad faith, and repeating some that behavior in the comments, you have been very disrespectful to your viewers, and that's why I said you were disappointing.

You are probably the first person I have seen being optimistic about Concord, and while it is not wrong to do so, it felt forced if not fanatical.
At first, I thought it was just sarcasm, that you were just joking. But as the video went on, your behavior started becoming aggressive to the point that you were almost, if not actually yelling. It is as if Act Man personally attacked you, which I am sure that you know he did not. Now, if your excuse for this behavior is to defend your point, I understand that, and it is okay to stand for your opinion. However, the way you tried defending your point is concerning.
This behavior that you displayed in this video is what is causing comments to point out what you have missed because you might have talked over Act Man or you paused the video, with him stuck at mid-sentence, before he even finished his sentence to get his point across. This is then followed up by you hammering your point to your audience in a loud fashion. This results in both the deafening of the viewers and you to what Act Man is saying and we learned little to nothing of what he truly meant to say. Some of the comments I have seen have also pointed that issue out. It is also important to note that you often change the topic of discussion and turn it into a blame game of races and sexes, delivered in such an aggressive manner, later in the video, which was not talked about whatsoever. He did not even bring up the characters pronouns. So, why argue about something that was not even being talked about in the first place? This leaves a mark on you that may result in newcomers avoiding you because of such behavior.
Now, I hope that this violent reaction of yours is unintentional, and that is fine by me, we all make mistakes. However, as a reaction channel, this leaves a bitter impression on people, making them believe that you do not have any clue on the topic at hand or that you are never interested in it to begin with yet you throw in your opinions that does not even relate to the subject matter. And since this is your latest video as of now, with you reacting to the Act Man, who is a very famous RUclipsr, people will flock to this video, especially the newcomers, and when they see this reaction of yours, that bitter impression will hit home to most viewers and leave your channel alone.
I do not want this for you at all. I have seen some of your videos, with the SCP reactions being my most watched ones, and I do find you enjoyable to watch. But this can not happen again. So I would like to share with you some tips that may help you become a better reactor. I am not a RUclipsr or a reactor at all but I have seen other reactors do these things and it made them more interesting to watch and it leaves the audience hooked into them. Here are the tips: 1.) Let the person in the video you are watching finish their sentence or finish their topic. That way, you have a full grasp on what the topic is. 2.) If you need to pause the video, make sure that you jump back five or ten seconds before you play the video. It may annoy some viewers but this is a surefire way to catch what you may have missed while you were leaving. 3.) Never talk while the video is playing. Your voice and the video will mash together, causing a confusing pile of noise and a chance that you may miss important details. 4.) If you are going to voice out your thoughts, think, double think, triple, think, and quadruple think on if your opinion is related to the discussion and how are you going to respectfully address your opinion. This will make you not look like an ignorant fool who speaks rudely in a savage manner, but as a respectful, honorable and intelligent person who voices things out in a proper, calm, and orderly decorum.
Now, I am not saying that these tips are the "Be-all and end-all" rules for a reactor. I am only sharing what I observed to work on other reactors in keeping the viewers hook to their channels. You do not have to follow all these tips I just shared. You may even forget all these things out of spite. I do not control you or your channel.
If you are offended by what I typed or think that I am overanalyzing this whole situation, I am only doing this because I am concerned for you. Maybe I am being too over my head and that I have no right to do any of this. But I want you to succeed. That's all I ever wanted.

Also you're being super dismissive and frankly kind of bigoted here, about halfway in you clearly decide to start judging his opinions on his race and gender as a reason he has them rather than him making a critical analysis of why the general populace didn't pick up the game. You can compare new to old by the circumstances of their eras and expectation. For example, ET sold a number impressive on the surface, but 3.5 million of 4 million copies were sent back, either as unsold inventory or customer returns. You also had the licensing fee that had to be paid to even be able to make the game. So yeah, most of those 2.6 million sold were returned and most that were sold were bought by grandmothers. Concord meanwhile doesn't stand out and is one that missed it's chance. If it came out at around the time of Overwatch 1, it might have stood a chance. Still, I wouldn't play it regardless, such games don't interest me at all. I do like watching people go on subjective rants about such games though.

Camellia, okay I normally generally agree with you on things, but it seems like you went into this reaction intending to go on the defensive before considering Act Man's opinions.
It's not "objectively ugly", but if the VAST majority of the possible audience DISLIKES the style of the game in terms of art direction and color choice; then the game will not sell well. We are talking about a commercial failure, not a subjective creativity failure. If you spend $400 million and 8 years of development on ONE game with at the best estimates being 25k sales, and then REFUND ALL PURCHASES, you have lost 400 million dollars. I see no other way to frame a $400 million loss than a commercial failure.
Going even further through the reaction, you end up throwing a lot of "he's being subjective" while making your own subjective opinions, you try to pick at every word in between 10 seconds and invalidate his own points by framing his words as some sort of self-contained three word segment, and deliberately attack him with an overly patronizing tone in each response.
Camellia, you obviously ignored the joke in "I don't think breasts could have saved this game", it really seems like this reaction is a hit piece rather than a genuine critique. You go bringing in the attitude of "Screw off, cis white male" and wield it as some sort of weapon to invalidate any criticism he provided.
Also note that cis white males happen to be a large portion of game consumers. We started and ended Act Man's video with criticism of the financial loss of the game.
He's not "hard-done" by this, if anything, you seem "hard-done" by his opinions and regarding them as him stating objective fact rather than treating them as him presenting an opinion. "We're just having a discussion", no you are not. You're engaging in bad faith with intent on not considering any of his words as meaningful criticism, and treated this entire reaction like a character assassination. There's no way that you haven't realized that he uses hyperbole and jokes in his content, and to try to say that he is "telling on himself" is disingenuous at best.
Before you even consider calling me part of the problem and a "cis white loser", know that I am of the first generation of my family to be born in the US, my parents having immigrated from South America to try to get into American universities in order to provide for the rest of their families back in Argentina. I am not the "typical" consumer of games, I am neurodivergent, definitely not heterosexual, and a Latino son born to an immigrant family.
Please, please make some sort of community statement to address this. I feel as if you went in here with nothing but hate and vitriol, but the entire point of our movements and policies are to bring tolerance and protection to all. Equity is the most important term in my university's motto, and it's for a damn good reason. "Intolerant of intolerance" is an incredibly shortsighted and combative message, and this kind of rhetoric is often pointed to by opposing politicians as reasons to fear us. They see us speak of them with fury and disgust, and see only hatred in our messaging - and this causes them to perceive us as hypocritical and not holding true to our own belief of Equity. Equity is by nature not about tearing others down, but uplifting them to level the playing field. Attacking a broad demographic of people for an immutable characteristic is what got the world into a dark time of hate for those that looked, talked and acted different. An eye for an eye doesn't make the world blind, but it does leave everyone in it worse off.

      Hi Leo,
First off I had never heard of Concord before this video so I have no opinions of it before seeing this. While at the start I respected his opinion on the over saturation on 5v5 shooters and the overall uninteresting appeal of the game.
As I progress in the video I noticed that he was only talking about its looks, while then game might not look good to him he acted like its was the majority or that his opinions are facts.
I was just stating that I indeed found aspects of this game pretty. At the end of it I still respect that he is allowed to have his own opinion so am I and everyone here.
And claiming that majority of gamers are male is just plain wrong.
If you found my tone wrong or off putting, that is you projecting. I was having a discussion. There were a few people in my chat at the time that disagreed with me and I told them that is valid. I've been nothing but validating.
Don't assume things about me. I never attacked anyone I always make people feel validated and respected. If this changes your opinion of me. That's just the way.
Please be more understanding of Humans.

I see a lot of folks hating on ya and I gotta say I disagree with ya too but not to that degree.
I'll mostly be rambling about aesthetics because that's where my knowledge of that game's features started and ended.
Sungrand Studios did a video on why the design is bad and he does a pretty good job on how the designs don't work. He goes into tonal distribution, a blur test (where if a character isn't interesting to look at blurred then it doesn't work), and how a character's outfit and design tells you a bit about that character. (For example, based on your model's design you're something of a granola girl, incredibly optimistic, and a bit blithe)
As for my own thoughts on the character design and shape, my opinion is kinda similar for the mangaka for FMA: "Make men manly and women vavoom." Especially the player characters. We've all spent way too much time in character creators when they show up, and while it's fun to make fugly characters it's rare to actually play a game with them to the end. If you can't make a player character look badass make them look sexy. And a lot of the female designs just don't hit, it's not just body it's also the face, same for the male characters (when they don't look like they got ripped from somewhere else and made less cool).
And frankly I think the looks alone were enough for most. If you wake up and find two cars waiting for you and a wizard who tells you that you can have either car for free but he doesn't tell you anything about their performance, which are you going to choose? The one that looks like something you could race in, or something that would make a Pinto look like a Mustang?
Tldr, disagree with ya, don't like how the game looks, you're still a cute ball of fun and chaos

    2. They layed off hundreds of employees from other studios while funding this game which doesn't look good
    3. playstation was hyping it up so much in there state of play and in there online post so it flopped harder
    4. Most people didn't like paying $40 for a game which most people didn't like the look of graphically or gameplay wise
5.when there are other free options which though not perfect are free and in case of marvel have beloved characters and concord didn't have that to lift them
I hope that helps you understand everyone else's views, it is trashed more cause the devs through punches at innocent people other wise I feel they could have found there niche

Since it wasn't mentioned in the video, I'll just make a brief mention of it here. Concord actually cost at least 400 mil to make, not 100. In addition to that, Sony also had to buy the rights to the game, for an unknown sum. Yet the game only generated roughly one million through sales (and this is before whatever platforms they used took their share). When it comes to video games, yes. With an economic loss:profit ratio of 400:1, this is objectively and without a doubt one of, if not the single, biggest financial flop in gaming history. You said the money Sony paid the developers was well spent because it went to the salaries of the developers for the time they spent working on the game. Let's bring that into reality. Let's say you hire a construction company to build you a house. You pay them a mil to build the house and when you eventually get the notification that it's completed, you go there and find out they built you a dog house made from cardboard boxes and used trashcans. I obviously don't know you, but I'm pretty confident you wouldn't say that money was well-spend because the construction workers had salaries while they worked on your house.

    • @camellia_vt
      @camellia_vt  Месяц назад

not the same if you asked them to build the dog house in the first place. Sony wanted this game and thats why they paid for it. Please go get angry at Sony.

I would disagree quite a few people where put off by the art style but shear hate boner you developed in a short time says a lot I am sorry to say but next to nobody any race religion sexuality bothered with this game it's the same mentality as current Hollywood when they blame white men on a show failing and it's like nobody else did I agree with you on the free to play model I have always hated it but the problem for concord was it was an up front cost and then had micro transactions albeit only skins but from what I recall it was used in alt forms for mutiplayer as it was designed to stop you playing a set character for too many matches in a row if I had any criticism of actmans vid it would be he didn't include a lot of the macanics witch also put people off

Though you have some takes that i disagree with i do apricate the neutral look on this game.
400 millions dollars invested into this game. Yes 400 million going to pay the economy for the employees equipment, food, housing, basic needs. But Sony wants 400 million back and when it turns put it will cost more to keep the game up.
40 bucks for a game? Well we have Overwatch for free. I dont like competive games but they have to convince me to pay 40 bucks. Helldivers 2 cost 40 bucks and i still have fun playing it. Concord? I could just play other games thats cost 40 bucks.
Free to play dose not mean good quality. Nither dose paying 40 bucks means a good game.
The charaters are to just bland........they are no outright bad nor horiendous. They are just simple and too safe for charater steroypes. I like the trash man. He to me is the most appealing one to me. Look up Nurgal and see how horrenous and uyle they are and yet people still find them appealing. Yes i am like Act Man. i like boobs and ass but there are more than one ways to make a charater more appealing than....activating monkey nerons. Someones a charater's beauty is the whole point of a charater. If a charater want to be beautiful they want to be beatiful. If they dont want to....then they dont want to.
The game look great in graphics. But the main problem for me was the direction the game was heading. New ip games had to make themselves stand out but Concord try to make themselves a Overwatch copy.
I dont like Concord. It never appealed to me because it follows a gameing trend that is dominated by better competator. Art sytle that is simple and safe but nothing to stand out. A online game that reqires my own time to play. I dont like seeing games failing but if a game delveoper comes out and spit and insults my face then demands me to play thier game......of course i be mad and petty. If they want to spend 400 million dollars for a game to appeal their own taste....fine. Don't expect me to pay 40 bucks to save you from making a 400 million lost. You spend 400 mil and get less in return.

There are plenty of reasons why this game failed, yes the market is saturated with live service nonsense. I’m not a fan of live service, but it appeals to many others. Character designs look generic, nothing screams cool, unique, and worth knowing their characters. Plus, DEI in games are toxic to many gamers who feel it’s gonna suck, and having characters with DEI heavily influence in their designs, and in the character profile selection, makes them go away and giving it a chance, if there was any to saw or heard about it.
This is a major problem, because with Concord’s failure, gamers fear for Sony’s other live service projects that are just gonna fail easily because Sony is doubling down on it, wasting yet again more money that should’ve been better spent somewhere else. And when reports say the game developers have toxic positivity culture, that’ll spread to other gaming developers, and as other gaming devs company are deciding to distance themselves from former DEI members who ever work with them are gonna be out of a job just by association. This is a big deal, for better or worse, the landscape in gaming is changing and these publishers are doubling down on their ideas that are outdated and harmful to the creative process.
