Hey, great video. I do want to say the official recommendation for applying a tourniquet is 3-5 inches above the wound. The old recommendation was high and tight. As I say that if you can assess the wound, go with 3-5 if you can't high and tight will be fine.

Think you have that backwards, it used to be 3-5 inches about the would but high and tight is the newer standard. It’s easier to pinch the blood flow at the junction that it is in the middle of the limb

1:48 - 2:05, you mentioned cutting the swat t. Please don't take this as a troll, but a critique to the information. Modifications to tourniquets will compromise the effectiveness of the tq. The length and width of the tq is necessary to apply pressure over surface area. An exaggerated comparison would be trying to occlude an artery with a shoe string. No matter how tight you get it you won't occlude an artery. Surface area of the TQ is just as important as the pressure applied to secure it. Here is a likely consideration, what happens if both patients who recieved two equal cuts of the same tq die because of a failed modification of the same tq?
