Fast food isn't meant to be a career choice. It's a starter job for kids. It teaches them to show up to work on time, work hard, get along with co-workers and how to deal with customers with a smile on your face, even when you don't feel like it. However, the best lesson is, one can be stuck in low paying jobs like this if one makes bad choices in life and dosen't plan for the future by going to a trade school or university.
Fire Power I work at CFA, I’m a homeowner, and make more than many of my friends who have gotten degrees. It’s the job you choose, and your willingness to climb the ladder and work hard. Student loans aren’t always the solution. Though, your comment would be true for many fast food establishments, but the opportunity for growth and income at CFA is much more than what you’d probably expect.
@@samson12319 samson....I stand corrected. Yes, if one intends to climb the corporate ladder of a fast-food and work their way up into management and in some cases ownership of a franchise, that is seriously admirable. Very hard work, no doubt. But, for the most part, yes, it is usually a temporary job that one learns their basic job values at. There is nothing wrong with that, we all need to learn somewhere. My issue isn't with the people, like you, who have goals and work on improving skills to move up, but with those in fast food that stay stagnant, don't won't to learn how to grow within a company but feel entitled to $27 per hour working the register. People need to learn to move up or move on, but it isn't up to a company to pay them a high wage because they show up. CFA does seem like a fine company. Good luck with your career!
Fire Power Absolutely agree. That’s why you see places like McDonald’s replacing cashiers with kiosks. If you want the money, and aren’t worth it you’ll be out the door! I hate entitlement, hard work defines everything.

LOL! I can 100% tell you - while they do try to keep the kitchen clean and clutter free... it doesn't look like this. This must have been filmed before 9am on any given day because once 9am hits and those breakfast orders start rolling in, that biscuit table does not look that pristine and the rest of the kitchen doesn't either. They are quite good at keeping things in a general area but (lids, containers, etc.) but it never looks like this except in the mornings before 9am and maybe the last two hours on a weekday night. They really should have shown rush hour during lunch or supper. LOL! THAT would have given you a better idea... That being said - it's a pretty impressive operation and to see how it all works together is almost mind blowing. You also can't even begin to know how hard those people in the kitchen work each shift. There is A LOT going on and A LOT to keep up with. No one is "just" taking care of the mac and cheese, or fries, or hash browns, etc. Case in point, the person handling Mac & Cheese, also handles grilled chicken options, salads, cookies, brownies, soup, and they are not only responsible for dipping all of that but they are also responsible for making sure soup is put in the "cooker" and transferred when needed to the hot holding station, they're also responsible for making sure there's enough M&C not only in the warmer (they go through a pan almost every 5-10 minutes during rush hours, sometimes less than that...), they are also responsible for making sure mac & cheese is in the oven and will be ready on time... (time management). And that's just one "station". The sandwich stations are even busier and much crazier than that and there is a lot of strategy and critical thinking that goes into it. It's not just make one order at a time. (Keep in mind, some locations have three drive through LANES (not merger like McD's, BK, and most other fast food) so the people running those stations are making multiple orders at a time for three lanes of drive thru on top of what is often a full dining room as well.) And yet, the amount of completely made fresh - made and baked on site is unreal. Literally, the entire menu is made fresh on site with a few exceptions, depending on location (cookies and brownies). All produce is washed and prepped fresh each day on site... The operation and logistics of this company and how they create such a quality product with epic service to boot is impressive. You would do yourself well to see one in full mode during rush hour for lunch or supper - that's where you really get the full picture of it all. Phenomenal operation.
I currently work at a Chick-fil-A and it’s awful. Managers are terrible power hungry people and pay is terrible for what you have to endure on a regular basis
Pay is pretty much dependent on each operator. Some take good care of their team members. Others are pretty cheap and would rather have a high turnover than spare a few dollars.
CFAis our favorite stop for a quick and great meal. Can honestly say we have NEVER had a bad meal or service. The atmosphere is so pleasant and cheerful, and clean. This is how others should do business.
This video actually taught me how to do fries 😂like two days after I saw it, they asked me to help BOH (back of house), who directed me to the fries. They didn’t have to teach me how to do it thanks to this video, hahahahaha! Thanks! 😂
I showed up at Chick-fil-A to buy some lunch yet no one waited on me. Drive through was empty. Doors were locked? I'm like WTH? I thought to myself #RUDE . What a great way to spend my Sunday. I was told after i got home they are closed sundays...duh to me. I went back the next day. Nice staff fast and reasonable prices. The nuggets are great imo. They didnt make it off the lot. Time to buy more.
I work in the kitchen at Chick-fil-A and dang they got a humongous kitchen in this video! Ours is tiny! And, yes, I go through probably 25 pairs of gloves in a five hour shift. Anytime you handle one food you gotta switch gloves before you handle a different kind, and then anytime you touch anything that could be dirty, like the ladder to get down more containers or your drink cup or whatever you gotta wash your hands then put on new gloves. And let me tell you those gloves are powdery as all get out, my clothes, my hat, my face, it all look like I was tossing pizzas all day. And the guy who breads the chicken at my location sells marijuana. And I work with a lady named Juana. What a place to work at.
Clipp eD Yeah, I’m at the bottom of the ladder right now, and that pays $10/hr. I think a manager position (of which we have a butt-ton) get paid like $12 or $14/hr I think?
Aberknackle at the chick fil a I used to work at front of house earned $12 and back of house earned $13. I think you got a pay bump every time you went up. I was just team member, then trainer, then supervisor. I also think you got paid more every 6 months I could be wrong though

You had it easy !! I show up at 4am min-fri to put away the mclane order and order everything for the facility so I’m also doing inventory. Biscuits and working primary and secondary is a walk in the park. Breading and running fryers I can do in my sleep. I’m also in charger of all the facilities equipment and maintenance. I’d say the hardest part of being any type of manager at CFA is keeping a solid team together and having zero call outs.
I just started working here and I’m currently at the one of the busiest ones in the states. They are rushing training since they need a lot of new people for a new one opening up nearby. It’s actually torture, and I’m extremely stressed out about everything. I have been told I’m learning everything backwards. I don’t know how to run the cash register and I don’t know about drinks very well yet either. I’ve just pretty much been panicking about it over the last few days. I wish the training wasn’t rushed, and I wish it wasn’t so busy. You can’t ever catch a break.

Did you know you can ask for your fries to be WELL DONE?!?!? There's even a button for it on their screen! I can't believe it took me years to discover this. I've always lamented that the fries were just not done enough, IMO. Even those thick, mealy ends no one likes come out beautifully! It's a whole new world. Also, you're welcome! :D
It depends on the area. Some require gloves some don’t. I worked at Whataburger and gloves weren’t required. Gloves aren’t even more sanitary than hands and only morons complain when they don’t wear gloves. Ever tried to wrap those burgers with gloves on? It’s pretty damn annoying.
Gloves are not required unless you have a open cut. That's why it's very important to wash your hands for 20 seconds with warm/hot water between every task or when handling cash. But personally I think everyone should wear gloves.

Now I know why my sister is always so tired when she comes home from working at chick fil a
Nah she gets banged on the job
This June will be a year that I have worked for Chick Fil A and I don’t regret it. I absolutely love working for this company
Chick-Fil-a was one of the best jobs I had, after retiring. Great people, great environment and the food. Sundays off are sweet also
I currently work at a Chick-fil-A and it’s awful. Managers are terrible power hungry people and pay is terrible for what you have to endure on a regular basis
yep same here
For me it’s some of the leaders but management is fine lol
Pay is pretty much dependent on each operator. Some take good care of their team members. Others are pretty cheap and would rather have a high turnover than spare a few dollars.
Trifflin u crazy pay is good I’m making 14 over in Beaumont and mangers are cool we have a group chat with our owner in it
Trifflin same here leaders are awful and if they got something against you they’ll find any way to write you up
CFAis our favorite stop for a quick and great meal.
Duh , you couldnt read the sign closed.
Being the guy who breads all the chicken products was extremely stressful during lunch time, especially on Saturdays.
this chat thread is so wholesome with all the chik employees in here
Love this! I used to work at Chick-Fil-A for four years in Atlanta. But my role wasn’t in the kitchen, so this was pretty cool to see! ✌🏻
Aberknackle how much was the pay?
Anthony T. I make $10/hour as a team member.
Aberknackle like just a team member, not area or shift leader?!
You can't help but smile when you prepare the Lord's Chicken.

My first job when I was a teen, worked there for almost 6 years, met all my gf's and my future ex-wife at my store. :) Love, love, love the CFA biscuit with cheese!
“They cannot have holes” *laughs in works at chick fil a where more than half of the pickles sent out have a hole in them*

This is so helpful for when I get a job at Chick-fil-A so it doesn't seem awkward 😭😭
the location i worked at the employees was very lazy, bad attitudes, and just mean for no reason the store manger is very disrespectful me and him had a couple of words he tried to call me a lier and i just went off.
I remember eating CFA for the first time and OH MY GOD THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! Lol and the waffle fries are life 😍😍😍😍
Chick fil a is the greatest fast food chain in the world and I truly appreciate how inclusive they are

I visited New York during Christmas 2018 from Tennessee. We have TONS of Chick Fil A’s down here, but the ones in NYC were the absolute BEST!
The biscuits are BOMB and the chicken minis
I just started working here and I’m currently at the one of the busiest ones in the states. They are rushing training since they need a lot of new people for a new one opening up nearby. It’s actually torture, and I’m extremely stressed out about everything. I have been told I’m learning everything backwards. I don’t know how to run the cash register and I don’t know about drinks very well yet either. I’ve just pretty much been panicking about it over the last few days. I wish the training wasn’t rushed, and I wish it wasn’t so busy. You can’t ever catch a break.
Do they not give you access to pathway? Also, good luck

Whataburger don’t even wear gloves smh
They're suppose to, next time you see that just report it to corporate
Anyone handling food should wear gloves. That's against code.
Doesn’t matter if the food taste good and you don’t die
Gloves are not required unless you have a open cut. That's why it's very important to wash your hands for 20 seconds with warm/hot water between every task or when handling cash. But personally I think everyone should wear gloves.
I love Chick-Fil-A, while I was doing my masters at OSU, I worked for it for about 6 months. I love the chicken sandwich, chicken strips and fries. I miss them a lot.
love how the guy is like "now you gotta wash your hands" "Now you gotta change your gloves" Makes me feel like Chick Fil A is super clean
As someone who worked at chick-fil-a, it really is like that. We changed our gloves constantly and were very sanitary
Fast food is fast food no matter what you do or how you do it. However, I must say their employees are special. They definitely do have more pride then other fast food employees in the industry
