    If you know Ric Flair's feelings about hardcore wrestling, then you know what I know. He meant every word he said to Mick Foley.

    Ric Flair had some of the best promos of his entire career in TNA. It’s rarely discussed and it should be.

    • @doublez_

      Jay lethal came out saying Flair wouldn’t allow anyone to write his promos and it shows.. even more impressive considering how caged his promos at wwe were. You right

      Michael Cookston oh yes they did have real heat because Ric Flair called foley just a glorified stuntman not a wrestler and basically talked down to Foley

    • @slimmcdoobie6932
      @slimmcdoobie6932 6 лет назад +3

      The time for this heat was during the time both were in WWE. It was a fateful plane ride during that time that actually made them bond. This was pure passion for the business.

    Ric Flair blaming Mick Foley for starting hardcore wrestling, he obviously never seen some of the bloodbaths of Japanese wrestling that occurred before Mick Foley's career even started. Plus wasn't it Ric Flair who was known as the dirtiest player in Wrestling for like decades? He did many things in his career that hardly constitute as wrestling. And the reason people aren't buying Mick Foley's books is because the majority of wrestling fans already own them.

    From the 1980s to 1999 Foley was a good worker. There were no "stunts" in countless house shows and Raws and Smackdowns and Foley held his own in all sorts of storylines with all kinds of wrestlers, even being able to change personas.
    As far as the "stunts" go, those were saved mainly for Pay Per View or important matches. Every wrestler tries to steal the show on the big cards. Foley was just more creative and branded himself as "hardcore" so we remember his bumps more, meanwhile all kinds of wrestlers have been doing so-called stunts on pay per views for years.
    Flair claims that all the wrestlers suffered trying to reach the bar that Foley set, but that's total bullshit. Most of the other wrestlers stayed true to their gimmicks and Foley had little effect on how Jericho, Angle, Cena and the next batch of stars went about their business. Name me one successful hardcore wrestler that "followed in Foley's footsteps"....? There's your answer. As far as Flair goes, he should look in the mirror. What really hurt wrestlers wasn't what Foley did, but the culture that guys like Flair helped to perpetuate.... drinking, partying, popping pills. How many wrestlers died through drugs and alcohol? Too many to count. How many died from getting thrown off a cage to copy Foley? Zero.

    Flair is also being a hypocrite here. Many wrestlers today were wrestling fans, and a number of them wanted to be like Flair. Have they been hurt by imitating him? Yes. Has Foley advised people not to do his stunts at home or in the ring? Yes. Has Flair? No. I'm writing this because this segment is obviously not all kayfabe - there is real anger here, especially on Flair's side.

    Yes I have to agree with the most of it. Before my first match the night before making sure I had everthing down right I did one elbow off the top rope too many. I broke my wrist. It's very easy having to move that fast in a 20 x 20 erea to get hurt. I watched as a partner did a back flip to the outside and land on the back of his head. The more these kids think it's fake they think they can do all this and not get hurt the more they will. They need to learn you can get killed in that ring
