I stuck with Britons vs Chinese for 3 days, although I can get ahead on economy, I still don't know how to win when fighting against their archers and knights combo, the strategy of rushing archers and fighting under castle works flawlessly. Thank you.
Brits are probably the best nation in AOEII, their elite archers (that from castle) are so OP with their range. If you develop them as soon as possible, enemy can't even go close to you. I had always some hidden knights behind archers for blitzkrieg to catapults and this strategy worked well.
Nice first strategy video. I think the best way you can improve this is working on your idiomatic English. As an example, there is your use of the formation "despite of", which occurs at least four times in this video. Now, the way you used it is fine, except for the fact that the formation does not exist in English. The formation you are looking for is "except for". Your non-standard word order is distracting. For example, "This makes it possible to go earlier on wood", which sounds a bit like Yoda-speak. Try: "This makes it possible to go on wood earlier". Also, "they run out of a bit faster wood" should be "they run out of wood a bit faster" - otherwise it almost sounds like they are only going to have slow wood left after the "a bit faster" wood runs out. In these constructions, remember to group "verb + direct object" then put the modifier (e.g. earlier/a bit faster) at the end. Word order is as important in English as word form/ending is in German. Incidentally, sheep is one of those rare words in English that are the same in singular and plural - there are no "sheeps". There are a lot of typical German-speaker phoneme substitutions in your spoken English but these will be fine if you can iron out the grammatical issues. These comments are intended to be constructive. Your English is much, much better than my German, but I am not running a media channel in German so my mistakes have few consequences. You are providing quality AoE content and I think if you work on these idiomatic/grammatical issues it will improve your product.
An Onager has a range of 8 (with Siege Engineer +1). Your Arbalesters fully upgraded have a range of 11. Your Elite Longbows have a maximum range of 12 even. That makes a difference of 2-3 range for fully upgraded units. So you should snipe the enemy onagers/siege onagers from a distance simply via hit and run with the archers. Once you dealt with the onagers you can simply patrol in your archers. If you want, you can think about flanking your archer numbers with a solid round of british champions. They are fully upgraded and still of high value though no special bonus is applied to them. But they deal fast with onagers and very well with pikes. Enemy infantry will be handled by your archers then.
@@baradin_aoe9991 so tell me this, if onagers are easily stormed by champs and melee cav, outranged by arbalist, what are they even good against in terms of military units or are they mainly just used for that high variance lucky element of surprise play?
@@chrisnewtownnsw you have a chance of big badaboom and turn the tide on the opponent. Only Briton UU and Archers , other civ archers would get flattered
If i go 22 pop feudal, with 2 ranges , how much villager should tc produce in feudal age ( assuming no damage received and nothing except archer production). Also, my plan with briton is always to go 22 pop and with good archer no. To force some skirms and than defend feudal age to go castle age faster.
My answer for that is basically that you shouuld constantly produce villagers and put them on food and build farms until you reach like 16 on farms then you go wheelbarrow and then you should be close to be able to click up. should be roundabout 40 vills, maybe a bit below. But it always depends of course always on the games and how they are going as you said yourself. Sometimes it can be for example a good idea to halt archer production and send some gold villagers to wood or food to get up earlier.
came for the education, stayed for the soothing voice. nicely done
Wololo!
Nice video with lots of insights! I just started to play britons a couple of days ago, jumped from 1109 to 1203 doing archer push in feudal
Thank you and good luck then furthermore. Just don't surpass me plez?
Even as a beginner player, this guide was very useful. I'm sure that better players would have benefitted even more.
Looking forward to more of these!
Woow, what an epic strategy guide video! Very insightful and very well produced. I enjoyed this a lot, keep it up!
Thanks, gotta work on the audio still quite a bit but thx for the flowers as they say these days :)

They are definitely really strong
I do the same...I've played Britons for 15 years...lol
Its not OP... They had literally nothing going for them beside their archer play :D still one of my favortie civs tho even after all new dlcs
Loved it, you'll surely gain a lot more subscribers over time with content of this quality.
Make more of these, please. Better than anything out there right now.
Extremley good!!! Excellent! Can you make more of these guides?
we need more vids like this on the different civs
So I'm thinking Britons go for mass Archers and Trebuchets. Heck, Towers and Castles garrisoned with them. Ideal strategy that is.
Great video. You have a very relaxing voice
Nice video man ! keep it up!
Thank you :-)
you deserve way more subs
So good!
Buen video, nuevo suscriptor :)

Thanks man for the considerate and enlightening criticism 🙂
can someone tell me how britons counter a pike onager combo?

@@baradin_aoe9991 if he was 50% pike and 50% onager you could also counter with 100% onager i guess

How to become a good Briton player?
Make elite longbows
