Fixing telescopic function of LX470 steering wheel

The telescoping function on my Lexus LX470 stopped working, but I could hear the motor.
I tore the dash apart to find the problem and fix it

Thank you. My 06 RX300h squeaks when telescoping out. This has been the closest video i can find that gives me a starting point. Most videos are for the actual wheel squeaking when moving side to side.

Recently did a master cylinder replacement in 04 gs300 and I must’ve knocked the same bolt loose when removing the trim and bolts

That sounds like the *AUTO TILIT AWAY* has been disabled

We’re you able to locate the original screw from the bracket or did you have to purchase a new one?

It found its way to the abyss! I have about 29945 fasteners just had to dig threw those to find the right 1!

Mine has started misbehaving after I disconnected the negative battery terminal and reconnected (I was doing this to reset cluster fuel gauge) now the telescope works for a short time then goes out. Then if I try again after a few more minutes it telescopes for a short time then goes out again, what might be the issue here please?

Hmm.. try disconnecting battery cable again. Maybe reset the motor. A guess could be motor shorting out

@@maintainersgarage thank you for the response, i have given it a try, disconnected the battery for 20mins then connected back, when i play with the knob (in, out, in, out, in, out attempts) i notice the distance traveled by the steering gets shorter and shorter till the steering stops to move completely then when i give it some minutes to stay untouched, it behaves this way again, the knob makes clicking sound when i push it in/out
