Had the chance to meet Cloud and the others...one of the most awesome experiences of my lifetime (yes, true story, I'm friends with wildlife photographers). This brought back some amazing memories for me, thank you :)
I have been riding since I was 10. It started as just physical therapy but grew to be my whole life. I am 26 now and I have a beautiful 5 yr old daughter. She has been in the saddle since she was 3 months. Around the same time we found this video. 5 years later she knows every word and watches this video every night before she goes to bed. She loves the white horse because it looks like her (real) pony she got for Christmas. We love this video!! Thank you for making it!! 5 years !!

If RUclips had an Oscar nomination spot, so far your video is the only one I've seen that really deserves it. I mean, this video is just simply amazing. In fact, you ought to get ahold of Cathine Raney, 'cause you did it well enough this could really be a professional music video.
Horses are graceful and beautiful, they have always been a big part of my life and always will. They deserve to live wild and free forever. To live on to inspire generations to come like they did for me, and to free the imagination in ways you wouldn't think of.
if my horse starts to get nervous and jittery ill sing this song to him and run his withers and he calms down and is fine and before i ride him i do the same thing and it relaxes him great video i love the song and the horses!!!

the white mare 5 seconds in is my favorite, such a nice quiet face/eyes WHEN I GET MY HAULING LISCENCE IM DRIVING OUT TO THE ROCKIES AND GETTIN ME SOME MUSTANGS, THEYRE LIKETHE ONY REAL HORSE OUT THERE, THE REST OF EM ARE SELECTIVELY BRED THAT THEY DONT EVEN LOOK LIKE THE BREED ANYMORE! perfect example: the appaloosa show horse. more weak nevicular legs than i can handle!
@RedstoneManor The mare was a short and stocky little scared up blue roan mare, quite a character. The documentary said that she might have been rounded up or taken by a mountain Lion.

@553horselover This was quite a while back...around 2003-4 when I got to go. He did have a couple of mares with that coloring with him, probably her and her daughter. The photographers I was with didn't know them all by name, just Cloud, and I hadn't seen the documentary.
@553horselover That's really sad :( Cloud's band was already pretty small when I was there. I think they were just getting ready to film the second documentary back then. I wish I could remember more, but I was pretty young. I'll have to try to dig up the VHS tape we made someday and get it put on the computer. The sound is terrible (argh the WIND up there on the ridge doesn't quit!) but there's some good footage.
Naphali Occasionally albino foals are born, but they soon die because of malformed intestines. This is called lethal white syndrome or overo lethal white. For some reason, the genes for albinism are linked to the genes for malformed intestines in horses. This makes the foal unable to poop. Fortunately, albinism is a recessive trait. In order for a fetus to form into a lethal white foal, both the mother (dam) and father (sire) need to carry these genes.

I saw this movie! It was about that Albino mustang born in the Arrow head mountians!
Horses can't come in albino - it's impossible. He's a cream gray or something - his name is Cloud. There was a PBS special about him. ^-^
