Antarcticite actually grindelwald showed up in Harry Potter series.. Harry Potter 7 part 1but only a few second and they changed the story from the book Voldemort didn’t kill him
I don't understand how Grindelwald knows Credence is a Dumbledore, when in the first movie he didn't even know Credence was the one he was looking for.
Grindelwald: look at the muggles giant bomb than can blow up cities we must stop them from having such power. Proceeds to try and blow up all of Paris in one swipe of his wand.
If Albus didn’t know he had a brother how the hell did Grindelwald? 😂 I think he is just lying because Grindelwald needs someone else to kill Albus much like what Voldemort does much later on
I think Grindelwald will use credence as a way to kill Dumbledore, until he (Grindelwald) finds out that Dumbledore was able to break the blood-pact that Newt gave him, leading to the legendary duel in 1945
UnknownFury 7 duel in 1945? You mean Germany’s last stand against the allies where Hitler kills himself in the bunker (his wife kermits too) and Germany’s sending kids at very young ages to fight like 18 year old soldiers
@@winterwolf211 He is a seer, but is not skilled in the art of divination, because he could not fully make out events, and only had glimpses. He showed this again in the sequel when he saw events in the second world war but could not determine whether or not said events (like the atomic bomb) would occur in Europe or on another continent.
There's just one mistake in this video: Percival didn't die in 1890. He died in an unspecified date AFTER 1890. For all we know, he might have spent 50 more years in prison and conceived Aurelius in prison. Then, of course, the baby couldn't spend his life in prison, so he was given up for adoption. The Percival route is still possible. I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed the McGonagall thing though.
It's possible that IF Credence is in fact a Dumbledore that he is Aberforths son, as he would be in his forties at the time the film takes place. Just a thought.
Why couldn't Grindelwald have planted the baby phoenix for Creedance to nurture. That thing could actually be a chicken. All Creedance has is a deceiver's word and a bird that a wand was waved at.
J.k. herself said he is a seeer and a liar.....also he saw the bomb because he smoke some bong head and blew smoke around. Also, he brought up the bomb, but then makes fein fire that will destroy the whole city if not stopped.....what....so does he care if everything is destroyed or not?
Ohhhhhh I didn't know that! Its very intresting that Eric didn't include that, maybe because this video was made a cpupke of weeks ago but thanks for the cool information 😀😀
I think the answer is that JK has pooped all over continuity in exchange for fan service in an attempt to attract more casual movie goers to this film series in addition to the Harry Potter faithful.
I'm pretty sure its not the same McGonagall maybe a relative though. There's another instance like this in the original series that doesn't line up with the time line either so i'm thinking its just a common name or McGonagall has had a lot of relatives heavily involved with hogwarts. Heres the example i.imgur.com/6ubRJzD.jpg
Since this is supposed to be a series of Fantastic Beasts, I'm willing to bet that the phoenix will have the power to break or dissolve the blood pact. It would be a good integration of the Fantastic Beasts story line into the Grindelwald story line.
First: Obscurial refers to the person, that is possessed by an obscurus. And second: From all we know, an obscurus can't just change bodies and possess someone alls. It's the uncontrolled magic of the person itself. So Credence' obscurus is just credence' suppressed magic
an obscurus is meant as a parasite being, living from the suppressed magic and causing its hosts early death. in the first movie newt got accused by the ministry for his obscurus. harmless in its current constitution and not usable as a weapon, even if newt had released it.
For Kendra to work, she'd have to die at the sea. And travel on the boat alone. So yeah, a manipulative lie is all it is if Rowling wants to keep any pretence of caring about continuity. The whole movie is basically 'let's fix this plothole! fid it create five more? doesn't matter! fix them in other movies! or interviews five years later!'
As for Grindelwald having potential knowledge of WWII, I assume it is similar to how insightful Dumbledore always was later on... Like with Ron and the Deluminator, or how in Goblet of Fire, he had the brief gleam of triumph in his eyes when he found out Voldemort used Harry's blood to regenerate (because he knew right then that Harry might not have to die in order to remove the part of Voldemort's soul from him).
Wait I have a theory maybe dumbeldores dad didn’t die in Azkaban and escaped ran to another country cause they would be looking for him but because no ones ever escaped they didn’t say anything just said he’s dead with Sirius their is some one else in charge so he said that someone escaped ok ok and maybe dumbeldores father got married and had credence and remember if they found his body like he’s a wizard you don’t know what illusions he could of done
0:24 it's Credence spelled with one e After watching it again, Grindelwald didn't say Aurelius was a brother to Albus. He just said he was a Dumbledore
Credence (Aurelius) is 26 in Fantastic beast 2 according to the harry potter wiki which says he was born in 1901, which means it is impossible for him to be Kendra or Percival son. it could be possible that he is Albus's son for Albus would've been 20 since he is 47 in Fantastic beasts 2 and was born in 1881. Or most likely Grindelwald lied. BOOM
I haven't watched the movie a second time yet. But what if Credence is a cousin of Dumbledore? There is a Honoria who's the spinister aunt of Albus, Aberforth and Ariana. Apperantly she's mentioned in The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
I always think that movie adaptation from books are two separate entities.. Much like Lord of the Rings trilogy which have more than a couple key differences with the novel, Harry Potter also have some differences to its book counterpart since we can't realistically put everything from a book then jam it into a 2 hour long movie. The story will be a mess and changes will have to be done so it better suited for watching. The details about Dumbledore's lineage, his feud with Grindelwald, or McGonagall's age weren't told that specific in Harry Potter movie saga and most who only follows Harry Potter through the movies won't really mind those timeline issues.
Apparently Aurelius is supposed to be an easter egg referring to Richard Harris's role as Aurelius in Gladiator to honor him as the first Dumbledore on screen.
If all the bs timeline confusion is only fan service I'm annoyed. I dont watch it for that, I want real wizarding stories. The movie was mediocre and the story was lacking, thats why the timeline stands out.
1:59 if credence was born out of wedlock and the father wasn't present, then his mother would probably want to keep the dumbledore name so not to be reminded of the father.
Is it possible that these movies might actually be an alternate timeline? Maybe something caused due to how much Albus Severus turned time in the Cursed Child? The trailer for the movie did say that "the future will change." Is it then possible that this isn't even the same timeline anymore and events will play out differently leading to a very different current day scene with Harry Potter?
That could be true, but I doubt it a lot cause that would just be way to difficult and I don’t really feel like you should look at cursed child for thing to base other theory’s on cause the cursed child was just awful and I feel like not really part of the HP story
Did I miss the #sponsored notice during the in-line commercial? I love your videos, the writing and criticism is SOOOO good. The commercial takes away from your content.

The Professor Minerva we saw is the GRANDMOTHER of the Minerva we all know and love. Check out Pottermore. Also he had the magical fortune telling skull ...
That last question got me thinking, maybe Grindelwald is not all lies. What if he means brother because the obscurus that infected Ariana and Creedence are the same one and in turn making Dumbledore somewhat related to Creedence?
I think the chronical inconsistencies will be explained by time travel. I'll reserve judgement on that. AHS and Hold the Door affected my time travel enthusiasm.
Can we please talk about that bong skull of Grindelwald? Why is it so similar to the dark mark? And also when you swap the phoenix of Grindelwald's sign with the snake you basically have the same as Voldemort's..?
If Credence has the same obscurus as Arianna then that would technically make Credence partly a Dumbledore without having been born to the same parents? That's how he could call the Phoenix
1. I think that there was a scene where dumbledore says mcgonagall actually time traveled but it was *deleted*(idk why really but they should probably address that to the public :P) 2. It could be that grindelwald is lying and maybe the phoenix he mentioned to credence was actually grindelwald's phoenix (just a small theory of mine)
Could the pheonix have been a raven the whole time and maybe Grendelwald transfigured it to look like a pheonix just so he can convince Credence to fight against Dumbledore, but ensure Dumbledore doesn't fight back?
It's the same Obscurus, that's why there's some Dumbledore in Credence. He's just a vessel for a parasite. See how Voldemort carries Lily's protection because of Harry's blood? How magic works is it usually binds something to something. Voldemort & Harry, the blood pact, curses, spells, phoenixes to bloodlines, servants to masters, wand ownership etc so I can see some sense in Obscurus being a carrier for spells or pacts as well. Anyway I've moved on after Goblet of Fire because I never liked what happened after that. Now I'm just watching it for that Hogwarts nostalgia.
Halfway through this movie my mom turns to me and goes “I bet credence is somehow related to Dumbledore” and I said “Mom... wtf” then when it ended I was just like how TF COULD YOU KNOW?
The one thing this movie confirmed to me is that they have the ability to create a jaw-dropping 1945 duel in one of the future movies. Let's hope it doesn't disappoint.
About the WWII Vison of Grindelwald I have two theories: 1: He is just that good at Divination and showed his vision to his follower. and 2: Grindelwald will be the actual cause of WWII and these visions are just his visions for a futur where the Muggels destroy themselfs so the wizzard will have it easier to take on the world.
Does anyone else think that Credence could be a Riddle? Either having a kid with or passing down Nagini as a family pet for Tom Riddle before turning into a horcrux?
I think we all are missing the conversation between Leta's older brother and Tina. They discussed there being a twin. So it's possible Corvus' faternal twin was born to his mother and the elder Dumbledore.
I got confused during his speech though. He wants purebloods to be renowned but also to use non-magic people as a possible slave force but warns if they don’t WWII would start?
Grindelwald flat out lied. I think Credence had a pheonix because he's related to the main character of these movies: Newt Scamander. They both like animals and animals like them.
The duel that killed Ariana, in my opinion is, Grindelwald and Albus vs ableforth as, Albus and Grindelwald we’re going to leave to peruse grindlewalds plan to take over the Muggles, UNTIL ableforth intervenes to tell them how absurd the idea was..leading to a duel...to me that’s Albus and Gellert vs ableforth....until Ariana tried to stop it and was killed
I think Dumbledoor's feelings for Grindlewald were one sided and Grindlewald befriended him and lead him on just to get the blood pack. Grindlewald might have sensed that Dumbledoor could one day grow to be his equal or better and he wanted to ensure that Dumbledoor would not be an outright threat. Also, I suppose after Newet gave the vile containing the elements of the blood pact to Dumbledoor, Dumbledoor eventually found a way to break the pack, culminating in the now-historical duel where Dumbledoor defeats his old love once and for all.
I thought that the skull bong was some sort of time traveling smoke, and that's how they knew what the futures was gonna be like, or whatever. I had no idea of those timeline plot holes though, I'm shook
The prevailing theory is that the obscurious jumped ship from Ariana to Credence. Abandon ship! That’s why Grindelwald refers to Albus as Credence’s brother.
What if credence is a Dumbledore but not Dumbledores brother. What if he is a secret son of Dumbledore that Dumbledore attempted to hide from Grindelwald, and up until now he assumed he died on the sunken ship.

Grindelwald doesn’t lie he manipulates. A Phoenix appears to credence because he is a Dumbledore.
Notification squad💪💪💪
Lord. I came for answers. Now I'm even more puzzled
Great video and analysis as always
Grindelwald flat out lied. I think Credence had a pheonix because he's related to the main character of these movies: Newt Scamander. They both like animals and animals like them.
Really like the video!
Gellert, Albus told me to tell you 'Avada Kedavra'
The prevailing theory is that the obscurious jumped ship from Ariana to Credence.
Abandon ship! That’s why Grindelwald refers to Albus as Credence’s brother.
What if credence is a Dumbledore but not Dumbledores brother. What if he is a secret son of Dumbledore that Dumbledore attempted to hide from Grindelwald, and up until now he assumed he died on the sunken ship.
Grindlewald has the Elder Wand!
saw the movie tonight.. thanks for clearing stuff up!
He actually said “your blood is trying to stop you
There's no mistakes in this movie. Deleted scenes gives us hints of truth. Rowling is a genius and the plot is geetting more exciting.
