- Just a quick vlog from our time at Turweston, where we were asked by Joe Achilles to bring a superbike to race a BMW X5M superbus. And seeing as supercharging supremos, TTS Performance were just down the road, we chucked a 230bhp Honda CB1000R into the mix...

That’s just bonkers, stock cbr1000rr scared the living daylights out of me and it wasn’t even full throttle. Will stick to my 🥷 650.

There is no replacement for displacement... you can have all the bells and whistles but nothing made you giggle like a kid like an over powered old school bike... love it! Absolutely love it!

I am surprised the 230hp CB didn't beat the 210hp Panigale, but it probably couldn't put its power down as well with the constant wheelieing. Plus the aerodynamics of the Panigale.
Lack of a fairing. Try hanging onto a naked bike at 130+mph and one that is accelerating full open throttle!
I do think that chassi geometry & electronics plays a big role in how they manage to get their power down to the ground.

Has to be geared differently stock gearing on naked bikes are really short
Shorter gearing, less aerodynamic, you’re sat bolt upright so your body is like a parachute at those speeds

A cb1000r is bland stock but change exhaust and it livens up. All my one wants to do is wheelie. I love it. Would love to try a supercharged version

That honda is epic! Ever since I test rode one in 2009 I always thought a supercharged cb1000r would be the perfect street bike.

That laugh while on the CBR was worth the price of the bike. While the Panigale owner is out posturing around at the local bike show you would be out having the time of your life doing one handed wheelies in fifth gear.
The BMW acquitted itself well. It's amazing how fast cars and some SUVs (!) are these days. The CBR looked like fun but the Ducati's win really showed how a full suite of electronics is needed to get the most out of high-powered modern (or heavily modified) bikes. I wonder how it would have faired if it had an extended swingarm to tamp down the tendency to wheelie...
with a longer swingarm it would probably have a higher tendancy to wheelspin.

I swear by my Ducati Streetfighter V-4S , Flashed ECU, Ducati Corsa mapping, just brutal acceleration all the way to 14K rpm !!! Hard to hold on-Ducati V-4 is Life
I just got a 2021 streetfighter v4s. Even stock it’s an animal total of 50 miles only got it up to 9k once and it was hard to hold on thank god for the rear seat holding me a little bit. Can’t wait tell after the break in is over with.

Did the Honda have stronger rods and/or lower compression pistons ? If not, the engine internals must be damn tough from the factory, detuned Fireblade origins or not.

Comparable power to weight ratio cars will always smoke bikes whether in straight line or around a track. Try it against a gt2rs or a 720s next time.

Aerodynamics are a B-Word. The CBR gets off the line quicker but the slick profile of the Panigale gives it the advantage.

I'd absolutely love to put a TTS supercharger kit on my K5 GSXR, but the exchange rate and inflation has them at $5kUSD now..... as fun as it would be, I just can't justify that. I think the value is there, but you really have to want one badly.

I would like to it geared to suit the power increase if it isn't already, so you can stay on the pipe ,wheeling in 5th says it has a lot more potential top speed and where the duke seems to have it over it seems to be in 4th or 5th and obviously 6th would love to see it geared to about the top end of the duke too dispell the top end disparity to see how it matches up

Need to do that race with the tuned s!000 M package. I tell u this bike unlocked is insane. I ride it daily gave put 12,000 miles on this beast in the last month. I can’t stay off this machine. But really it shouldn’t be allowed on the road. Lol
