    I bought today a pork belly to make your recipe and i did not find the onion what you have but i have a leek. Can i use it instead of onion? I like your channel very much❤ i adore the miso soups and i always make sure i have a dashi ( instant dashi amazon bought) in my fridge, i live in a sity that is hard to find special asian food. Thank you so much for your work and sharring your lovely recipes with us. Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! Wish you all the best and prosperity to your channel! 😊🎉❤ Big hug from Canada❤

      Aww. Thank you so much for using my recipes and for your kind feedback! 🥰
      Yes. The texture is slightly different, but you can use a leek instead.
      I hope you enjoy!

    Didn't find find the otoshibuta on your Amazon store front. Might be good to have it. I like using your affiliate links. I may have missed it.

    What's the difference between sake and mirin?

    • @justonecookbook
      @justonecookbook  21 день назад

      Mirin tastes more sweeter than Sake. Here is some information about Mirin. www.justonecookbook.com/mirin/

    Does anyone know if pork belly freezes well? The best place to buy it near me is probably still Costco, but I live alone…

      To freeze it, wrap it in plastic wrap and place it in a ziplock bag. Hopefully, this helps!

    It's Japanese tradition to place a pin hole in the large end of the egg THEN boil it.
