This vid is great, it shows the mink grabbing the back of the head, base of the skull and at one point, Fang drags the body down to her head/mouth, with her front claws. Awesome! And Fang really understood bringing the kill inside the box, consistently.
The hours and work you have spent with mink is a first, definitely a documented first! Your work with mink deserves professional recognition. That you put a book out on your training mink is stellar! Any one who trains animals, trains animals to hunt should have your book. Pet shops should carry your book, vets should be aware of it, at the very least - dag, Rite-Aid should carry your book!
    Thanks for all your vids!

Sorry , mine split when I was a baby and I was raised by grandparents. Just list my father a few months ago and I don't really stay in contact with my mother cause she still lies and uses drugs.
Have some more tough news to share with you about the whole marriage topic though. Just a heads up marriage doesn't mean much these modern days and only last a few years. Hardly anyone values loyalty and commitment any longer. And unfortunately it's been my life experience that there's very very small group of women that understand and value the words loyalty and or faithful. I know allot of men are monogamously challenged to but it's been the facts of what I've seen it's really high amongst females. So if your one of the lucky few that get even a luckier fewer good woman you better not take for granted!
But there's other things in life to cherish. Family and friends is what really matters in the end anyway. You can't take anything with you when you die so material is only just that " material " . Best wishes for you and your journey 👍

So sorry you lost your friend. Having trained several border collies to work sheep, I know what goes into training just one animal, and I'm assuming training a mink is even harder. Loosing one so special is such a tragedy. One never replaces another, but it does help keep you going. Look at all the wonderful footage you have of Fang. I wish I had more of mine working sheep. You are inspiring to me Joe!

These mink seem to have natural black belt jiu-jitsu skills -- they're able to "take the back" of their prey super fast and somehow anchor themselves to their prey so that it can't wriggle free. That has to require incredible dexterity and a super advanced built-in fighting intuition.

It REALLY impresses me how STRONG the mink is, and how it can take on and kill animals equal to, or greater in body weight. Down in Texas my cats and other people's cats would take on diamond back rattle snakes and win all the time. They were faster, and wore the snake out than crushed the head.

    • @lukehayre7346

minks endurance impressive af..... I feel like their build is the perfect predator to wrap up a muskrat, if a mink took on much of anything bigger (that was also aggressive)...might not fair so well.....i'd say more lethal/calculated than strong know what I mean?

I simply love your videos, I grew up in the suburban midwest, in an area with lots of opossum, raccoons, rats, coyotes, squirrels, snakes, mice, bats, ect. My family thought is was a good idea to get purebred west highland white terrier. That champ spent more time with red fur than white ;) And as a ten-year-old or so, I became quite good at cleaning up him, and his mess. My mother always tried to punish the dog my having him sleep in a crate after his adventures.. But after I washed him, with mane&tail shampoo, I would always break him free at night and let him sleep with me, despite him tearing my legs up protecting me from the evil rodents under my blanket. (my feet) To this day, I know how to sleep perfectly still!
