Empire Ants is the number 1 song I wish more reactors reacted to. One of the greatest songs ever written imo.

Absolutely adore that song and this album. Big part of my adolescence, because my whole family were gorillaz fans (my mom owned demon days and self titled CD so I basically grew up listening to them).
I think best song on the album. I'm also a fan of Little Dragon.
Empire ants is so damn good even after all these years. With that said give Little dragon a listen .

People don't understand how amazing some kind of nature is, lou's aged vocals, the subject matter and poppy beat all first class

superfast jellyfish is a critique of the music industry and how hyper-commercial its become
I'm not sure If they intended another possible meaning but with global warming the sea life is diminishing but jellyfish population only increasing with warmer seas causing that to be a "main source of food" later on.

Firstly, it's an ad in the middle of the album - but the ad is also a futuristic one where obviously climate change has affected food supply so much that people are needing to eat jellyfish. But the underlying message is that instead of working to fix the problem, companies will spend more time trying to sell the problem to consumers.
This is one of the albums I keep coming back to over and over again. It delivers on the themes consistently, while doing so in a way that doesn’t ever get repetitive. It’s experimental, it’s vibrant, and it’s emotional. Love this one, and I’m glad you decided to check it out!

Honestly sweepstakes is one of my fav gorillaz song. it rly shows how music cant sound good if its not complete and it kinda sounds horrible at the beginning but upon adding instruments and new beats it becomes complete and is such a bop and to prove it again they remove everything from the music and it sounds bad again

I've always loved how Gorillaz have been simultaneously consistent and versatile with their music and I feel that Plastic Beach embodies that. Along with it's subtle messages and great collaborators, its definitely my favorite album from them.

They all have some of my favourites in, Souk Eye and Andromeda are two of those
I really like Stylo but I dont find many others that do. Its not their *greatest* song but I really enjoy it when paired with its video. Although it might be confusing if watched by someone that didn't follow along with the story thing they had going on at the time.
The vocals on Stylo are just 😘

Gorillaz is my favourite band by far and this album just........it's really special. This is probably the only album ever that I can say I love in it's entirety. I will drop everything to listen to this whole album.

Plastic Beach (the song) was one of my go to smoke sesh songs back in the day. Still have a big soft spot for this album

gorillaz music is honestly just timeless, they somehow cater to all kinds of tastes, and are very tasteful and definitely follow along what's popular at the moment. their recent music is something that could be listened to in the beginning in the beginning of their career, and their old music doesn't ever feel old at all, in other words, like i said - timeless.

Second this. Song Machine is easily a top 3 Gorillaz album and deserves so much more attention that it's been getting.
Gorillaz played live in my country, Argentina, this year. Though I had known them for a long time, never paid enough attention to their music. So I started with Plastic Beach, whose sounds, images & feelings carry us to so many worlds.

I would really recommend the album Songmachine if you want to listen to more Gorillaz. It’s an album with a different musical guest and Genre on every song. Humans and the Now Now are also good but a little inconsistent.

it's wild seeing how long it has been since plastic beach came out and nothing about the world changed, in fact it has gotten worse. The album is called Plastic Beach, a beach literally made out of plastic waste in the middle of the pacific ocean and most of the songs take jabs at how much our world and life style is screwed up consumerism wise.
Gorillaz- one of my favorite. you should watch the making of the albums videos.
You should listen to Little Dragon - Ritual Union. One of their best albums in my opinion.
I know that you only listen to music on the channel, but you just have to watch clips for those songs that you have already heard, you miss such a beautiful part of gorillaz, their clips works of art
If you liked this album, you should check out Dela Soul's: And the Anonymous Nobody. Dela have been one of Gorillaz most frequent collaborators and this album features Damon Albarn of Gorillaz on one of the best tracks. Good review 🤘✌

I'd understand if you skipped gorillaz next album The Fall because most gorillaz fans don't consider it a real gorillaz album, but Humanz is another worldly experience. It's very jarring upon first listen but I don't think another album has ever grown on me like it has

I love the band and this album, but this took a little while to grow on me. Like there are spectacular songs, but I did need to warm up to other tracks. I think there is some overproduced songs. Where previous albums had layers, this album purposely crashes transitions from one track to the other. Overall I do enjoy this album.

I know humanz is disliked by a lot of people, but if anything it introduced me to a lot of artists I otherwise wouldn't have heard. If you check it out, at least listen to it for that. Benjamin Clementine is a great singer, and I wouldn't have heard of him without Gorillaz.
