I love this! I was just looking for this recipe yesterday. Pro Mexican tip, if you rub any type of edible oil or shortening on your hand it will protect them from the heat of the peppers.
I seen somewhere to add chuncks of pineapple at the bottom of the jar and oh my goodness it was yummy! Ate the few jars up with pineapple first so from here on out all my jars will have pineapple! Using left over brine for chicken is AMAZING!!! Also putting cowboy candy on hamburgers is yummy! Should work well as a relish for those of us that like it 🔥
I love how unedited your videos are. I truly mean this in the nicest way. It’s refreshing to watch videos that are genuine and authentic. Your videos are great! Thanks :)
I slice and dehydrate my jalapenos as I pick them over the garden season... so I can just add the brine to them for cowboy candy any time I want to make it...
I made cowboy candy then after some time I thought what if I dehydrated them?? Yup there great and last a long time! Chopped and adding to cornbread is phenomenal!!
Hello from Oklahoma, thanks again for teaching us a wonderful recipe! Please continue to say jalapeño the way you are. The correct pronunciation is haa·luh·pay·nyow.....
I did watermelon rind and this recipe the mix is really good - I have the 1943 Ball Blue Book so I did Watermelon rind pickles too - thank you, really great flavors
Wow! Those peppers look delicious! I love hot peppers like jalapeños and habaneros, the finished product looks so beautiful in the jar you almost don't want to eat them! I have never heard of cowboy candy before and I'm going to try a variation of your recipe using both jalapeños and habaneros for a little extra heat. I hope mine turn out as good looking as yours!
We love cowboy candy! It’s fantastic - that mix of sweet and heat! One thing I do is put some through the food processor to about the size of the vegetables in salsa. Then I can some like that for putting on eggs or tacos or topping chili. Anything you like actually. We find we use it more than the rings. Love the video!😊
I use this recipe and everyone loves them! I have made 3 batches and plan to do one more this week. I made a canning room this summer so that I would have all my canning equipment and supplies in one place!
Do you not remove veins or seeds? I'm allergic to the oils, so have to be super careful. I see you used a collendar to remove seeds, never thought of that. Great time saver. I also did 70 small jars of jalapeno jelly for gifts! They're the sample size jars you get when you buy a sampler box of jams, jellies. I did red, turned gold, and green! These will be nice for those you don't want to forget. I bought some little spoons at dollar tree to tie on the jars with ribbon. Love all your videos.
So exciting. They look beautiful. I’m getting ready to break my last gallon bag of green beans! I grew green beans in 2 pots and I’ve eaten green beans all summer long. I’ve dried some and frozen some also! 2 pots!! It made me so happy. It was the first time I tried to grow them and I had no idea they just keep making beans as long as you keep them picked. I pick daily and put them in a bag in the refrigerator with a paper towel to absorb the condensation, and when I get a bunch I cook them or whatever. It’s been a joy. 💝💚
Gosh, I hope you see this... did you know you can over winter your pepper plants & have established plants ready to put out in spring. I just brought mine in the porch last year and they stayed alive but got infestation of aphids so I took it outside to hose them off... it was way too cold and the spray flash froze & killed it off. lol Most seem to dig them up, wash off the roots & clip the stock back to first nodes on the branches. Repot, water sparingly, just enough to keep the soil from being bone dry. Anyway, the candy looks sooo good.❤
MISTAKE??? Hello Leilani, I am not sure if you misspoke or if the measurements you provided were indeed the amounts you use. The recipe you listed off is exactly like the one I use, 6 cups of sugar, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp celery seed, BUT mine is 3 tsp of garlic powder (not 3 tbsp) and 1 tsp of cayenne pepper (not 1 tbsp). I guess people will make it to their liking anyway, but I thought I would just mention this in case it was a slip of the tongue😃 As always, thanks for sharing, I love your videos! God Bless!
Love cowboy candy, didn’t have a grate season for jalapeños i Sweden this year, but maby better next year. Thank you for a wonderful and enlightening channel ❤
I discovered these taste great in potato salad! I had canned potatoes. Was extremely nervous to use them! Had to use us some boiled eggs... potato salad time! So i went wild with the canned potato chunks, cowboy candy and it waa great! Almost like "instant potato sslad", just opening jars! Lol i ate up all i had, this way!
I made cowboy candy last year and it was so hot almost no one could eat it even as a condiment. But my jalapenos were extra hot but will try again sometime again.
Thank you so much for this video, love the bountiful harvest you got, the plants were amazing, I also said no really? You couldn't have picked that much, but you did and the candy looks divine!!! I hope you and your family enjoy every mouthful, you earned it!
Those tall jars are pint and a half jars, they are hard to find at a decent price atleast in my area. I don't think ball makes them anymore. They work great for asparagus, or I do whole skinny carrots in them.😊
Your jelly jar is vintage from the 1980’s! Made by Kerr, they also made smaller ones. They sell for outrageous prices on eBay. My mom had some and I canned pumpkin butter in them last year.
I made this with random hot peppers last week... Much heavier on the vinegar. it's yummy but spicy. I just bought jalapenos last farmers market to try a less version, but could not find the canning time. Grateful for you and the synchronicity. And the tip about marinade 🌷🙏🥰
The red and green jalapeno looks really kewl in the jar. I love making this. Just wondering if there's a way to keep them crisp. ( Like pickles). I'll watch to see if you have a secret. 😊
It’s always a joy to see you. We are not hot people at my house. We very mild but thank you for the video and the recipe I want to look forward to you no nonsense videos thank you.
That’s an amazing jalapeño harvest! I’ve made and canned cowboy candy, but I’ve been too nervous to try it.😂 i gave a lot away. I should make it again and actually try it this time!
I am also going to take this opportunity to ask you to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a video on water bath canning plain beets. There is NOT a single video on YT for this, so you would be the only one!! Think of all the traffic your channel would get. Think of the big bucks that would come in, it will make you a millionaire!! 🤭Tee hee. Joking a side, I would be ever so happy and grateful if you did!! God Bless! ❤
Have a fan to either side of you blowing across your front/side while working with peppers in the house. The strong airflow will keep you from sneezing and coughing
Every time I make them I have to do it outside. That stuff kills my face, but the end results are amazing. We went through a jar a week. I know that seems like a lot, but we like spicy in Texas.
Thank you. I am interested in making this and can’t wait to try it. I spent the whole year trying to figure out what your shirt says. Can you tell me please?
Hello, I'm a subscriber, I have question can I water bath broccoli, that I received in a big package from a food bank , they are big florets? Need help please 😊
I love this! I was just looking for this recipe yesterday. Pro Mexican tip, if you rub any type of edible oil or shortening on your hand it will protect them from the heat of the peppers.
Thanks!
Thank you!
I used to save all the seeds and plant them the next year, rarely did I have to buy seeds.

Love the red ones in there. Pretty and festive!
I copied this recipe into my canning notebook and titled it Make It Make Cowboy Candy! Thanks for sharing!
I slice and dehydrate my jalapenos as I pick them over the garden season... so I can just add the brine to them for cowboy candy any time I want to make it...
Does the results end up the same?

Cowboy candy is one of my favorite things to can. ❤️❤️❤️

I absolutely love cowboy candy and I would be thrilled to receive that! Also, that funnel set is pretty awesome! I've got that added to my cart now!

Azure Standard has started selling them!!! They are quality jars.
@@lauriegb7461 thank you I don't have many
Made cowboy candy last week, a total of 24 pints
Love it with so many things
That's really good jalapenos when they make you sneeze and cough - love your recipes - thank you!
Most CC resapies are able the same I love it.
Your jelly jar is vintage from the 1980’s! Made by Kerr, they also made smaller ones. They sell for outrageous prices on eBay. My mom had some and I canned pumpkin butter in them last year.
I was just given that exact jar from a random stash my dad had laying around. I thought the same thing so cute! I put grape jam in mine❤
Can you save those seeds to plant next spring?
Of course you can!
@@homesteadgamer1257 thank you
i even used the seeds from those bagged minipeppers from walmart. always worth saving seeds to experiment with.
Great tutorial!!! Thank you so much ❤

Beautiful pepper plants, overwinter them. Five plants?!
I love making cowboy candy and then use the leftover brine for BBQ sauce
I leave seeds in, only take the tops off
Just love watching you going to make it
Oh man!!! A marinade for beef jerky!! 😋
@homesteadgamer1257 YUM! Now I wonder if it would be good with a little Chipotle mixed in also 😋 For BBQ Salmon 🤤
@@goddessofgreen1 Staaaaaaahhhp!!! I don't have salmon or chipotles right now! lol Good God that sounds AMAZING!!!
I just made this yesterday!!! So yummy!!

I'm betting substituting some of that sugar with wild or orange honey would be amazing.
That sounds amazing!

I just wash my hands with rubbing alcohol afterwards, even when I wear gloves. It helps to cut the heat so you don’t mace yourself.

OMG! I LOOOOOVE cowboy candy!! It’s so delicious ❤ really nice on burgers and subs with bacon. 🥓
@@crystalh733 I use them on pulled pork sandwiches. Any extra brine I use to make bbq sauce.
Good evening from Syracuse NY my friend and thank you for sharing your videos
These go really well with a butter burger. 😋
Nice what I do is put pineapple with mine it’s soooo good with pineapple 🍍
So funny that the bees are going crazy for the jalepenos
Never had it before but now I have to try it. Thanks
Sugar helps take the heat out of the peppers.
Je vous remercie tellement pour toutes vos vidéos, je vais faire cette recette aujourd'hui. Merci et que dieu protège votre famille🌸🌸🌸
Another great video thank you

If someone is concerned about the amount of sugar, they should just eat the peppers and not drink the liquid. This is sooo good
Wow I've missed you ❤❤❤❤
HAL A Peen Yo
There BEAUTIFUL 🤩
Well, tell the bees to buzz off and i'm pretty sure that they don't sting this month. 😂😂
Can we get the recipe and water bath time please
My husband eats it with a spoon right out of the jar. 😋
Thank you. I am interested in making this and can’t wait to try it. I spent the whole year trying to figure out what your shirt says. Can you tell me please?
Looks like the top says, “Though the mountains move and the hills shake..” and then, “my love will…”.
When they turn red you can make Sriracha sauce
Would this work with Shishito peppers? They seem to have more heat as the season progressed.

What kind of slicer do you have. I Make alot of Cowboy Candy
Those peppers affect me the same way 😂I guess they don't care if you're an old man or a beautiful lady🌹
That looks aqesome! I hate all the waste if you follow the recipie! Way too little peppers!
Is it unsafe to use tinned vegetables in a soup recipe for canning? I have so many and need to find a use for them...
I want to purchase the slicer, does anyone know what kind she uses???
How many pounds of jalapenos did you use? Look yummy. Thank you.
What is the exact recipe????❤❤❤❤
I put my peppers in the food processor and did cowboy candy relish.
You need a box fan behind you blowing it out the door but it has to be behind you that way it will blow it away from you
❤
Have you tryed it on ice cream
I use a food processor. Quick and easy
I was wondering if the Amish have a recipe for homemade pemmican?
I run mine through a food processor.
You need a processor and God Bless you!
Do you eat the cowboy candy?
Get out some milk😮
No Pectin ?
I don’t understand the “make it make” introduction
Man I’m so jealous I had 4 plants and only got one jar full. 😑🫠🤭
