Dark Souls and Elden Ring is the exact same, the only damage animations they have is when they are staggered. Yet I don't see anyone complaining. Imagine being a FromSoftware fanboy.
You have to see more footage the enemies react to being hit but not when it's just regular light attacks watch him fighting the electric dragon he lands a charged up power pole hit right on the dragons head knocks it right out the sky.
Watch the video where he fights multiple enemies that are his own size. They react to light attacks. The big ones only react to heavy attacks which makes sense. Imagine hitting a rhino with a staff.. That animal wouldn't be bothered that much. Anyways, if you want realism, go buy Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 when it's out 😅

I miss qte‘s when you have drained a bosses health to the last percent. Never understood why so many people were complaining about them back in the day when the God of War 2 and other games used them. Those were always my favorite parts.

"Journey to the west" is a comedy drama. It was broadcasted in Mainland China like every Chinese New Year. I think a comedy followed the mood of Souls series is weird. I am suripsed why many Chinese would recall their childhood memory of this game.
i remember playing monkey magic on ps1 in the very early 2000s. the character was a cartoon version of sun wukong. my god he really grew up a lot since then

Only complaint is the voice for wukong whenever you attack, but aside from my complaint I would have to say this is the best looking game that is releasing this year
The amount of creatures they have made is pretty impressive. Could combat use more hit stop? Probably, but I'll just keep in mind just about damn near everything would be lucky to not just be a blood splat after getting hit by Sun with that rod.
This is the type of game that I like due to the fact of the enemys not getting staggered. This will make the game more challenging and maybe that's just me but I'm all for it.Also like the resting site look.

Dont get me wrong i like Elden Ring and the Dark souls series, ive completed all of them. But since i played Sekiro, Bloodborne and other games like Wo long per example, fast pace combat + soulslike formula is really the way to go for me. Thats why im excited about Wukong.
The hard hits send enemies flying in this game the regular hits don’t because the enemies are huge it wouldn’t make sense for the normal attack to send the enemies to the moon

Another game where the enemy is hit by a ton of blows and doesn't show any reaction or there is any sensation of impact, if it weren't for the glow that occurs when the weapon comes into contact with the enemy, it wouldn't even be possible to know that there was any contact. It's strange that the enemy is being hit by several blows and there is no reaction movement other than a decreasing life bar, it seems that developers don't care about having this type of immersion in games
the overwhelming majority of Elden Ring bosses don't have a reaction in hits. Elden Ring = game of the year. there is enemy reaction where it makes sense. the 1st clip there is a reaction and even knock down. you expect to hit a big rock-like monster with a staff and make it move? you have taken unrealistic things from other games as real and think that if other games don't do the same then it's unrealistic.

What I hate about most of these games is that the opponents never block in real-time, they just take hits until they die or some cutscene is triggered.

this story is not the original journey to the west story as the mc is not the actual Wukong. so in a sense this is a sequel.
I read somewhere that the Devs plan to make a trilogy if BM: Wu Kong does well, however the next series will be Black Myth: Ne Zah (another deity)
The sheer scale the game promises is mind boggling. The music is so GOOD!

关卡设计还是令人担忧,演示里都是大平面地图放几个小怪,走一走就到boss战了。那么灵活的悟空在关卡中能以怎样的灵活度推图,能不能跳下矮悬崖?能不能用长棍子支起自己到更高的地方,演示里变化成飞虫的能力在什么情况下才能使用...这方面的game play在演示中还没有体现。但结合目前透露的体量,又觉得这应该不成问题...

"Journey to the west" is a comedy drama. It was broadcasted in Mainland China like every Chinese New Year. I think a comedy followed the mood of Souls series is weird. I am suripsed why many Chinese would recall their childhood memory of this game.

Enemy attacks have 0 impact, which means the gane is about hit trading. I hope they add a bit of stun or smth, to make the players more careful
Well They do have Impact alright The light attacks will have Impact on Small enemies but Not on big ones and that Makes Sense
You can’t just assume these things with the little game play and fighting we’ve seen. This is the most fighting we seen so far and still doesn’t tell us how the mechanics work

Only complaint is the voice for wukong whenever you attack, but aside from my complaint I would have to say this is the best looking game that is releasing this year
The amount of creatures they have made is pretty impressive. Could combat use more hit stop? Probably, but I'll just keep in mind just about damn near everything would be lucky to not just be a blood splat after getting hit by Sun with that rod.

Looks amazing, my inly complaints: Hate the font of the attck numbers, and the lack of WHAFF when you strike the enemy! Hopefully this will be amazing!
Dont get me wrong i like Elden Ring and the Dark souls series, ive completed all of them. But since i played Sekiro, Bloodborne and other games like Wo long per example, fast pace combat + soulslike formula is really the way to go for me. Thats why im excited about Wukong.
Have you played Nioh 2? Personally I reckon it still has the best combat system as well as the best Ng+, ++, +++ and ++++ in this genre.

The hard hits send enemies flying in this game the regular hits don’t because the enemies are huge it wouldn’t make sense for the normal attack to send the enemies to the moon

Combat sound effects don't live up to everything else. Cool game.
Another game where the enemy is hit by a ton of blows and doesn't show any reaction or there is any sensation of impact, if it weren't for the glow that occurs when the weapon comes into contact with the enemy, it wouldn't even be possible to know that there was any contact. It's strange that the enemy is being hit by several blows and there is no reaction movement other than a decreasing life bar, it seems that developers don't care about having this type of immersion in games

the overwhelming majority of Elden Ring bosses don't have a reaction in hits. Elden Ring = game of the year. there is enemy reaction where it makes sense. the 1st clip there is a reaction and even knock down. you expect to hit a big rock-like monster with a staff and make it move? you have taken unrealistic things from other games as real and think that if other games don't do the same then it's unrealistic.
in elden ring is exactly the same, only big blows have some impact, which is good from a gameplay perspective.
If you want ragdoll physics go play a zombie game lol
@@quadro1337 that's called poise damage system, monster hunter has something similar but work better for giant enemy too, you rarely knock monster out, but when you do it's extremely satisfying, more than any other game
Many comments are complaining about the hit reacts. Unlike in God of War, there seems no dramatic finishing moves in this game. Game Science said that this is purely due to technical limitations.
What I hate about most of these games is that the opponents never block in real-time, they just take hits until they die or some cutscene is triggered.

And since we’re seeing hit numbers there must be stats for certain play styles we can lean too. That is my assumption but we don’t know till we’re closer to release date. 6:26 the om mani pame hu is an actual accurate buddhist mantra. Good to see they added actual mantras and not made up stuff. Reminds me of Uncharted 2 with accurate Tibeatan. Props to the developer for making an accurate setting and lore. And also ginseng which is a medicinal plant used to boost immune system but also used in present times as religious ceremonies makese sense for wukong to use it

The boss fights will all take place in those ugly open arenas without much creativity or even dynamic environments. Not to say the game wont have it's fun but I can see that it will probably not deliver much beyond what they have shown here.
I would love to see a souls like with rdr2 like animations for resting, crafting, looting, etc. Maybe that's too much, but it could be cool

Something about bosses take having any stagger that just turned me off.
Also 2:00 that whole fight sequence looked really clumsy. It's not punishing enough, like how can you play like that and still win.
