I’ve had my h2o for 4 years now and it’s still going!! I too got it at Ross for $5. I love the size and the sound quality, I also have a JBL charge that sounds amazing, but it’s not nearly as easy to carry around as this thing.
I just bought this, and your review helped. It won't shake walls or anything but I can hear it when doing most things, for $12.99 it's 100% worth it, I'm actually tempted to go get the other black mini h20 3 they had.
Only issue I had was my music has lots of bass, in fear I'd blow something I turned the EQ on 63 hz and lowered it -10db if I was gonna play high volume.

Did you get another one? I believe the real deal is when you paid these for stereo sounds! I can’t quite find another set of speakers that you can set stereo for the price and without connect to apps!!
Great review. I assume the long hold to cut off is to prevent accidentally turn off when you are moving with it.
Thank you for your review. I just purchased my second Altec Mini at Ross for 9.99. I agree it's a great lightweight, clear speaker. Unfortunately, this new Altec Mini, a H2O 3 speaker, comes across with a static sound most of the time. My first one was an Altec Mini H20, it's perfect even after 10 months of daily use. This H20 3 is being returned, in hopes that I can find another H20.
BTW, I have not had the problem you spoke of about the rubberized cover coming off, at all. Perhaps, they just forgot to glue yours on. Even if I tried, I couldn't get these covers off mine. They are mint green and the new one is olive green. Not blue, like yours.
They are a company from right here in New Jersey !

do you know what the diffrence is between mini h20 1 and mini h20 3? they seem to look the same

Same but won't pair, and tried two different ones.

It quieter than my breathing, maybe mines broken but I just opened it and it’s so quit me and my friends are now calling it the whisperer
