Love you Sera! Yes at first I had the same reaction but next level is literally stuck in my head, it hooks you when you didn’t think it would and the more you listen the 3 song mashup vibe begins to not feels displaced.
Same for me. Watching them perform the song onstage made me hear it in a completely different way. I think it's a great song now that I've heard it a few more times. The drum covers also tie most of the verses together.
This songs remembers me when Girls generation realesed "I got a boy" it's the same feeling and the ideia in the song construction and I love when they broke the ordinary structure In a song and create something very different and unexpected like they did in "next level"
Don’t worry Sera, as a foreign kpop listener (from France) for almost 15 years now I am happy that agencies are finally daring concepts that stand out from the crowd and conventions of the genre. More broadly I think that's also what a large majority of fans of the genre want. Music is an art in its own right and from this point of view is dynamic and constantly evolving, so it does not shock me at all when I see such concepts especially that it corresponds perfectly to their universes! For me it's not a different song but rather an interlude intended to show their foray into the virtual world and extend the explanation of their history. Love your reactions as always! Stay healthy, don’t skip meals and take care of yourself! Love from France! 🤘

This is a song that gets better and better the more you hear it and get used to it. It may feel confusing at first but I really like their versatility and braveness to push diferent concepts to a different level.
But you know they are from SM. The strength of SM Entertainment is to make the complexity that you mentioned successful in the market and enlarge the spectrum of the genre in Kpop industry. And what aespa is doing is that thing.
Maybe but the middle section of the song feels like it doesn't belong in the song. It feels out of place. For some people they "adjust" to this and start to like the song after several listens. But for others they never like that about the song. I don't think this is a problem for SM because I've noticed that many, perhaps even most, K pop songs cause people to "adjust" and like the song after several listens.
That wasn't Sera being overwhelmed though. Black Mamba makes you like it from the first listen. Next Level isn't as good a song as Black Mamba so less people will like it if they only listen to it once. Next Level is a grower so most people won't like it when they first hear it. This one is a bit of a grower but once you're into it its really good! Its been stuck in my head for days! Also, the red haired girl is named Ning Ning
You had very similar thoughts as mine, especially in my reaction. The concept is cool and interesting, if you decide to dive into it. Yet hinging sooo much of the lyrical content on it, as well, seems like a risk. I like the song a lot after getting used to the beat switch, but I think I (and other non-Korean speakers) have an advantage of not being distracted by the lyrics at all times. This is just one single, though. We'll see what happens when SM finally has them promote with a full project.
The lyrics of the song isnt about a love story or heartbreak but a storyline that aespa is following. They might be confused by the lyrics and what theyre singing about but once they have been informed, they'll get it ❤️
I think SM took a huge risk but it was a gamble that paid off. I suppose they noticed the public is quickly adapting to groups that have sounds and song structures beyond the norm (ex ONF, Dreamcatcher, Itzy) and noted they themselves have succeeded with unconventional music with bg's (NCT127) and of course IGAB/Zimzalabim and figured might as well go all in with Aespa. Their concept is unconventional, so why not give the people something catchy and fresh to listen to too.

Wow very next level song nice and very unique for me it's great.. always take care my sera kept It up my sera 💖💖💖
Sera I agree so much. It's like 3 songs together.
That mashup that you do when you want to show the whole album in 3 minutes.
This song reminds me so much of I got a boy by Girls Generation.
That song also felt like 3 different songs combined 🤔🤔
잉~~언니~~저도그랬답니당당 근디원곡도 좋아여!! 분노의질주ost중하나에욧!!!
Love you Sera ❤
유영진 광야에 땅사놨냐는 댓글 생각나네ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I actually liked the switch up part right away, funnily enough it reminded me of 9muses, but wasnt into the way they transitioned and somehow got used to it
Love your eyes when the ‘beat drops”
U look so great baby! Thanks for ur reaction to our beloved girls 🥰🥰
I felt the exact same way after my first listen I was so disappointed and I thought the same. I was sad because I thought the song could be better and I wanted the girls to be successful as well.
but I swear I love it so much now I can't stop listening to it. SM is so smart lol
It's definitely a song that confuses people at first, but gosh it is soooo addictive! It ended up doing really well as we all know now, but gosh did it make us all really cautious about public reception LOL
I love the breakdown part THE MOSSTTT
The way she's so confused sends me 💀💀 love from Brazil Sera 💝
This one is a bit of a grower but once you're into it its really good! Its been stuck in my head for days! Also, the red haired girl is named Ning Ning
Thanks for noticed Ningningie

넥슽레벨 리액션 기다렷어요♡
I'm excited to see where the storyline of aespa goes from here.
seras reaction are always fire
I felt the same when I Got A Boy from SNSD came out. But in the end it became an anthem, so... We'll see!
너가잘😂났어요❤
You had very similar thoughts as mine, especially in my reaction. The concept is cool and interesting, if you decide to dive into it. Yet hinging sooo much of the lyrical content on it, as well, seems like a risk. I like the song a lot after getting used to the beat switch, but I think I (and other non-Korean speakers) have an advantage of not being distracted by the lyrics at all times. This is just one single, though. We'll see what happens when SM finally has them promote with a full project.
The lyrics of the song isnt about a love story or heartbreak but a storyline that aespa is following. They might be confused by the lyrics and what theyre singing about but once they have been informed, they'll get it ❤️
@@aex2309 yeah, that's the hope. I'm really looking forward to what will happen next. The storyline is dope.
Dont worry sera
At First im not really like the song and now i ADDICTED it 😂😂😂
When you first listen to it: ehhh
But when you listen to it lots of times: I’m oN tHe neXt LevEl
