oh my god using the time they promoted as minx as part of this concept is so original and so amazing! i've known them since minx debuted - i never became an actual stan, but i love their music - but i've never heard of this before!
Their company, Happyface entertainment, created a subsidiary called Dreamcatcher company, which Dreamcatcher is now under instead, this subsidiary solely focuses on Dreamcatcher and no other groups. So they have much better management as of recent.
All their songs that lead up to PIRI had a continuing story line, the sequence: (btw, i just wanted to say i loved 9Muses!!!!! WILD was a great song!!!!!!!!!!) Chase me: Ghost hunter investigates haunted hotel where dream catcher resides , the outro is the intro of Good Night... Good night: he captures Sua, but the girls later rescue her and instead traps him inside the mirror while escaping… Fly High: is a prequal which shows how dream catcher becomes nightmares; Yuhyun killing the spider (lady). Jiu seeing herself is a flashback to Fly High for example… the trap element w/ rock makes this song one of the best that have come out this year in Kpop. the deep base is awesome, the guitar and drum setup are great… I considered this as a dream catcher “rock ballad” until “Déjà vu” came out. Déjà vu is a classic power ballad and will grow on you and will eventually stand the test of times. The plot is similar to classic literature like Macbeth, betrayal for the throne. Yoohyun kills her friend Jiu and gets rid of the others (exiled, imprisoned, and killed). While she finds herself alone on the throne, she's having illusions like Macbeth, which has been interpreted as "deja-vu" is my guess. The actual game MV has a different story line; father, son and lover which the actual lyrics portrays...
Mamamoo, Loona, now Dreamcatcher. Sera is really after my heart. Not to mention being a former 9 Muses member herself, but that was before my time as a Kpop fan. Dreamcatcher has a storyline to their videos since the name and concept change, but don't worry, it's not to the level of the Loona lore. And their more recent comeback was made for a video game so I believe it's sort of a separate concept from their usual, while still fitting them perfectly.

I cant think of anyone else that could do this, a former idol that actually did make it big, sitting in front of a camera and in English reviewing other kpop artists and groups. SERIOUSLY, you can give a honest perspective to us in the west that we could not possibly get elsewhere. Would love if one day you reviewed your own MV's and things you remember during shooting. It is so hard to find stuff like that in english or even translated well. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into these. One of my favorite memories of you was when you were performing on a radio show (I cant remember which song because I am dumb). And you had to fully concentrate the ENTIRE song because you had large belting notes and had to focus on breathe control. Meanwhile (I think it was erin) was goofing off next to you the whole time because her rap was already done. It was a hilarious contrast and it made me really fall in love with you guys back then. try watching the mvs in their right order that's how i understand some parts of the storyline start with their mv fly high then chase me,good night,what,you and i and piri well i think deja vu is not a part of their lore because it is a collab between dc and a game called king's raid (but deja vu's mv has it's own story and i think its about betrayal) but yeah dont worry their lore is not as complicated as loona's (my braincells can't even handle loona's lore)
I just saw Dreamcatcher live last week and I miss them so much and now you do this video 😭 Also yes, Dreamcatcher was previously with Happy Face who were the company for DALshabet but they split into their own company to focus on Dreamcatcher earlier this year. I thought it was weird but it actually seems like it's been better for them? But maybe I'm just saying this because I got to see and meet 6 of the members last week 😭

So as far as I know, there are currently 3 groups ultimately under HFE which are DC, D1CE and another called Classmate (under Happyface Music Company). However, I cannot find single song by Classsmate, or any news related to them. This is weird. Only know about them through King's Raid recent video.
I also saw that and wondered if it was on purpose but probably just a mistake. :D Edit: It's not that common to also make German subtitles but I still appreciate it a lot (even tho everyone is learning English as there second language so they don't like need it but it's still nice that someone took their time to make them.)
Okay, so I've been a pretty hardcore Dreamcatcher fan for a couple years now and I could totally help you understand the storyline! For the most part, it goes in order of MV releases except for Fly High because it was considered to be a "Prequel" to their first two singles. In fact, Prequel was the name of the mini album it came out with. The story order goes like this: Fly High, Chase Me, Good Night, You and I, What, Piri, and Deja Vu. Deja Vu is very different from their other title tracks because it was a collaboration with a video game called King's Raid. We don't know if they'll continue this concept or if this was more of a one-time thing, but we'll have to see! If you count their Japanese title track, Breaking Out, it would be in between Piri and Deja Vu. There's obviously a lot of speculation as to how the story works, but there are a lot of theories that lots of people are giving their opinion on below!
So lucky that few years ago 9Muses was one of my favorite k-pop groups.....and now memeber of that group have own channel, which is one of my favorite now;)

It's all part of their "Nightmare" cycle. "What" is part of that cycle and it ended with "Piri". In Piri they get out of the nightmare. "What" is frocused on lucid dream they are trying to escape. Also they are more Goth, not Rock. Deja Vu is a new cycle -- it was a co-branded production with a Thai FTP mobile video game: King's Raid. King's Raid is super big here in Thailand, the game as gone global as of 2017. The Thai game company was squired by a South Korean game company, hence the colab with a KPop group.
I saw them when they held a concert in Singapore this year. Most amazing concert experience I've ever been in to date. So thankful they actually came back to do a concert in Singapore this year. Also stoked that you're actually checking them out!

Love it. To begin Dreamcatcher's concept is Nightmare. Simple enough givimg thier name but the story is that that are all cursed after Yoohyeon killed the spider in Fly High. The b-side on Raid of Dream called the Curse of the Spider references this and the story thus far. Deja Vu is a crossover with the storyline of betrayal of the mobage Kinds Raid's Pandemonium arc. The storyline is thus far is Fly High>Chase Me>Good Night>You and I What, Piri and Breaking Out their Japanese debut fit into the story aswell. true story, you broke my heart in 2014 and I only recovered it in a dreamworld two years ago. I can tell rock isn't your thing ;) so I guess that's kind of why they haven't gotten much traction in korea if you represent the general music preference over there.
It's so sad that rock isn't very popular in Korea. Such a small scene, but at the same time there are a lot of talented and passionate artists. I saw many of them playing live in front of 5-20 people.... they could be big in any country except Korea and China I guess

when i heard you want to study about Dreamcatcher , since i knew who you are, i knew rock isn't type of your style. So I've been worried how do you will react to all DC videos. But yea, this is my first time seeing a person just skip time in those videos and it's hurt to see it. haha. Before the end of the videos, i had wish you don't skip those videos again especially Deja Vu MV. And thankfully my wish been heard. If you want to know why Dreamcatcher is unique not just based on their concept is or music genre(rock,nighmare,dark and so on), another reason is because Dreamcatcher serve you with all type of music style in their albums(b-sides track). Every albums will have song with EDM and Ballad style. So a peoples who doesn't love rock will enjoyed these 2 type of music. Like all InSomnia said "Dreamcather don't have a bad song". Wow so cool to see our DC girls :) Yooh and Siyeon are under-rated vocals. Sua is a legit triple threat also (Dance, rap, sing, comedienne) I hope you check the special releases and covers. "Really really" is better than Winner imo (Rather I think it just suits a female more), and their cover of Maroon5 is better than Maroon5 also haha :) You do really need to watch the MV's in order as they're a story at least initial DC ones E-Tribe wanted to originally call it "Dreamcatcher ENT". It was originally "Harvest Ent" then Happy face Ent :) Whereas Dalshabettended to use in-house and of course Shinsadong for production, With DC mainly "Superbomb" is used hence the great rock/synth fusion. DC as a group are some of the maddest ladies out there, they're awesome. IMO even though GFriend are known for their synchronicity I think DC are better just lesser known. Their choreo is so good in spots. They're such a visual group also, Their visual "jiu" is very very pretty and a sweetheart. So as far as I know, there are currently 3 groups ultimately under HFE which are DC, D1CE and another called Classmate (under Happyface Music Company). However, I cannot find single song by Classsmate, or any news related to them. This is weird. Only know about them through King's Raid recent video.
I believe DCC is just a sub-company of HFE. So that the workforce of DCC can focus solely on Dreamcatcher.

Okay, so I've been a pretty hardcore Dreamcatcher fan for a couple years now and I could totally help you understand the storyline! For the most part, it goes in order of MV releases except for Fly High because it was considered to be a "Prequel" to their first two singles. In fact, Prequel was the name of the mini album it came out with. The story order goes like this: Fly High, Chase Me, Good Night, You and I, What, Piri, and Deja Vu. Deja Vu is very different from their other title tracks because it was a collaboration with a video game called King's Raid. We don't know if they'll continue this concept or if this was more of a one-time thing, but we'll have to see! If you count their Japanese title track, Breaking Out, it would be in between Piri and Deja Vu.
There's obviously a lot of speculation as to how the story works, but there are a lot of theories that lots of people are giving their opinion on below!
So lucky that few years ago 9Muses was one of my favorite k-pop groups.....and now memeber of that group have own channel, which is one of my favorite now;)

It's all part of their "Nightmare" cycle. "What" is part of that cycle and it ended with "Piri". In Piri they get out of the nightmare. "What" is frocused on lucid dream they are trying to escape. Also they are more Goth, not Rock. Deja Vu is a new cycle -- it was a co-branded production with a Thai FTP mobile video game: King's Raid. King's Raid is super big here in Thailand, the game as gone global as of 2017. The Thai game company was squired by a South Korean game company, hence the colab with a KPop group.
Love Shake was actually included as a B-side track in Dal Shabet’s “Bang Bang” album!

Love it. To begin Dreamcatcher's concept is Nightmare. Simple enough givimg thier name but the story is that that are all cursed after Yoohyeon killed the spider in Fly High. The b-side on Raid of Dream called the Curse of the Spider references this and the story thus far. Deja Vu is a crossover with the storyline of betrayal of the mobage Kinds Raid's Pandemonium arc.
The storyline is thus far is Fly High>Chase Me>Good Night>You and I
What, Piri and Breaking Out their Japanese debut fit into the story aswell. They also have Full Moon and Over the Sky as special singles that also dont fit into the story.

I can tell rock isn't your thing ;) so I guess that's kind of why they haven't gotten much traction in korea if you represent the general music preference over there.
It's so sad that rock isn't very popular in Korea. Such a small scene, but at the same time there are a lot of talented and passionate artists. I saw many of them playing live in front of 5-20 people.... they could be big in any country except Korea and China I guess
@@N1yaw actually from some comments i saw in other videos related to korean music is rock genre is probably seems not that popular in SK from international viewers perspective only, cz the only thing that so loud on every social medias is KPOP with their boy/girl groups member and scandals or something.. but just like japan and china rock genre are popular too, it just didn't seem like it when you only see it from screen or social medias...

when i heard you want to study about Dreamcatcher , since i knew who you are, i knew rock isn't type of your style. So I've been worried how do you will react to all DC videos. But yea, this is my first time seeing a person just skip time in those videos and it's hurt to see it. haha. Before the end of the videos, i had wish you don't skip those videos again especially Deja Vu MV. And thankfully my wish been heard.
If you want to know why Dreamcatcher is unique not just based on their concept is or music genre(rock,nighmare,dark and so on), another reason is because Dreamcatcher serve you with all type of music style in their albums(b-sides track). Every albums will have song with EDM and Ballad style. So a peoples who doesn't love rock will enjoyed these 2 type of music. Like all InSomnia said "Dreamcather don't have a bad song".
So i really hope, if you want to study them more, consider to hear their b-sides too. Btw, love your reactions even there is part tthat shock me. LOL

Wow so cool to see our DC girls :) Yooh and Siyeon are under-rated vocals. Sua is a legit triple threat also (Dance, rap, sing, comedienne) I hope you check the special releases and covers. "Really really" is better than Winner imo (Rather I think it just suits a female more), and their cover of Maroon5 is better than Maroon5 also haha :) You do really need to watch the MV's in order as they're a story at least initial DC ones
E-Tribe wanted to originally call it "Dreamcatcher ENT". It was originally "Harvest Ent" then Happy face Ent :) Whereas Dalshabettended to use in-house and of course Shinsadong for production, With DC mainly "Superbomb" is used hence the great rock/synth fusion.
DC as a group are some of the maddest ladies out there, they're awesome. IMO even though GFriend are known for their synchronicity I think DC are better just lesser known. Their choreo is so good in spots. They're such a visual group also, Their visual "jiu" is very very pretty and a sweetheart. My bias is Siyeon though after she killed Yooh for me :D

@@Siblubru There is such thing called sequel and prequel not every story are always in sequential order, so does not means the songs that is released later cannot be the prequel of a storyline. If you are a gamer and played KH, you will know what I mean and it happened some movies too. :)

The best way to understand the history is by watching the MVs in order because all of them until Piri follow the same storyline (side note: their 3rd MV, Fly High, is a prequel of the history and Deja Vu is the start of a new narrative)
