(ALL WEAPONS THAT DO NOT RESPAWN)
All weapons that once broken, can never be re-acquired in Breath of the Wild. A warning to all the completionists/collectors out there.

There are five ways you can acquire weapons in this game:
1. Found lying in the open world
2. Recoverable from a defeated enemy
3. Gifted as a reward for accomplishing something.
4. Found in a treasure chest
5. Acquired through an Amiibo
Any weapon found out in the open world (think rusted weapons) will respawn every blood moon. Any item that an enemy drops once killed will also respawn every blood moon, since all enemies respawn every blood moon.* Amiibo's can be scanned once every 24 hours, so you have a chance to re-acquire those weapons with each Amiibo scan.
Items in treasure chests and items given as a reward can only be acquired once. Ever. That means, there is a small window for any item only acquirable through treasure chests and rewards to only be acquired a limited number of times. If you destroy all instances of these weapons, you will never be able to acquire them again. That's a scary thought for all the completionists/collectors out there.
This guide lists all of the weapons/shields that can only be acquired a limited number of times, and all the locations you can find each of them.
* Lynel's will level up as you progress through the game, meaning the lower level Lynels will NOT respawn every blood moon. This means this is also another opportunity for an item to any be acquired a limited amount of times.

1. The Forest Dweller's Sword is NOT found lying around the Korok forest, that is the spear and shield.
2. The "Test of Wood"/"Korok Trials" only gives you the sword the FIRST time you complete the trials. Every time after that, you simply "rent" the sword for a cost of 20 Rupees and do not get to keep it. This means YOU CANNOT REDO THE TEST OF WOOD TO GET ANOTHER FOREST DWELLERS SWORD!
3. There are actually two more Forest Dweller's Swords found inside Shrines.
4. The red Lynel tied to the quest that remains throughout the whole game only holds a sword and shield and will never have a crusher or spear.
5. These weapons cannot be acquired through Amiibos.

That's not really practical tho. It makes sense with weapons because you can only find so many, but clothes and food are an unlimited inventory.
@@bowlofpho2585 yeah but those 2 extra pieces could be disposable. Like the old T-shirt and the pants. I disposed of them. And as for the food, I've never reached the limit on it so I can't really complain about inventory space, that's why I consider it impractical to have a whole storage for 2 pieces of armor and dishes. The most food I've ever made is 1 and a half pages.

There will always be a red lynel at Ploymous Mountain, a blue one at Hyrule Castle, and a White one at Hyrule Castle. They don't change.

You can get the forest dweller's sword in the kokiri forest along with a forest dweller's shield and it's leaning on the deku tree and it respawns every blood moon

you can, you just have to agree to the quest where you are required to take them, and as long as you don't lose them during the quest you get to keep them.
You can only keep them the first time, try replaying it, he won't let you take them.

I'd like to point out that the Kite Shield is *not* the best shield for surfing. The Radiant Shield goes fastest, and the Ancient Shield takes the least damage. Both are better than the Kite Shield for surfing.

Actually the ancient shields the fastest and all shields take no damage on snow, sand and pathways, my source is from data mining .

dropped items don't de-spawn IIRC
i dropped a champion weapon and it was gonein like 10 minutes
that would encourage stockpiling weapons which is very very much against the game's whole idea. It wants you to never be attatched to a weapon, constantly cycling through different ones you find.
The weapon holders aren't intended for actual storage so much as just having a decoration in your house.
Auniqe I dropped a bunch of weapons in my house because I thought they would be there when I got back. I think Bolson stole them.

Actually, I think the Lynel at Shatterback Point stays a red-maned one, since it's part of a sidequest.
It's a sword'n'shield version only. I've never seen it have another weapon (besides its bow).

I was so afraid of them that I avoided them early on untill I got Vah Ruta and Vah Rudania. It turns out once you memorize their move set, they're easy to defeat.

I clearly remember discarding my forest dwellers swoard ops LOL.
Master Mode fixes some of this with the chests on floating platforms and better geared enemies. Lynel spear is held by a Lizalfo in southern Akkala for example, and I think I've picked up a forest dweller sword from one of the floating platforms but like a lot of that is random.

there is a soup ladel inside the deku tree, a spear and shield leaning against a root outside. (warp to the shrine in the village and chek the other side of the root to your right (when facing away from the shrine, back to the entrance).

I actually kept the Kite Shield and put it on my wall just because I thought it looked cool! Glad I decided not to break it.
In the test of wood, it gives you a forest dwellers sword, and you can do it over and over again.
You can also get a forest dweller sword from a chest in the “Blue Flames” shrine located in the northern mine of death mountain too.

I know there's one in Hebra- it's at Tabantha Snowfield. There are two skulls on the western side of the field, and the top one (northern one) there is a chest partially buried in the snow that contains a kite shield.

You only get to keep it after the first run through the trials. Every trial attempt after the first one only let's you "rent" them. They are then taken away once you complete the trial.

Lgh 02 True about the rental, BUT during the Test of Wood, there's a chest that you can pick up a second FD sword, and that one you can keep.
You rent it the second time around;the first time is the only time you can get it.

Note. (Happened to me) after you do the trial and don't put the new weapons away(unequip them) and you re-do the trial(I did it straight after). That little guy takes the sword or all equipped items away(the ones that he gave you. Also there is a shrine that you can get the sword(I think it's the sword, I can't remember) from.

yep. i kept them safe in my inventory for the rare times i found myself within a thunderstorm surrounded by enemies. but then i got the thunder helmet and yeah.. this rendered non-metal equipment useless.

I hate that weapon... Lol i always drop it... I use mostly guardian/ancient weapons with the fully upgraded ancient soldier set.... Which you can easily find a video on youtube by Kleric that shows you how to get infinite ancient parts.... Its fairly simple and only takes like 10 minutes to set it up

I think I remember getting a kite shield from a stalizalfos on the road from hyrule plains to tabantha region between the rito stable and the talus on the road... but I could be crazy.

I think your weapons heal when you put them in your house
Y’all are wrong, if you’re weapons are about to break, you can’t fix them, but the champion’s weapons, (Ravali’s bow, Mipha’s trident, Daruk’s smasher, and Urbosa’s sword) you can get them again by talking to the person who gave them to you, but in exchange, they’ll ask you for flint, a diamond, and a weapon (depending on which one you are trying to get)

Yes but as you do more divine beasts they go up in levels and you won’t be able to get the original and mighty versions of the weapons anymore

This would have been so easy to avoid. Just have a Kite Shield resting up against a wall in Rito Village and have the Lynel weapons either lying around in some random spots, maybe have something similar to the Coliseum Ruins. Or even just make them amiibo drops, having Young Link give the Kite Shield and Forest Dweller's Sword, and having Ganondorf give the Lynel weapons, or alternatively make a Lynel amiibo that could do the same. Simple.

Yeah but I’ve you’ve opened it you can never reopen again. But it would be better if I could just find a Forest Dweller’s Sword just either lying on the ground or being held by an enemy.
There are 6 forest dweller swords. The fifth is in the shrine where the balloon platform spawns over the little guardians and you ride wind up to the top. Tabantha region. There’s a chest up there.

That's for the bow, if you're talking about the one near a Hinox. There's no sword there.

Soul Sawada Yes, unfortunately, it is that way. You only find it as rewards or in treasure chests, both which are unable to be respawned in the game.
i do believe that by doing the koroki trial again you would get the sword, shield, and bow again and again

I kept that Zora spear that old Zora guy lost in the lake. I forget it's exact name, but it is slightly different from it's regular counterpart. It's a tad stronger, and has some more ornate details. I hung it up in Link's house. I couldn't imagine that it would ever be available again. I could be wrong. I wish they'd give more spots in Link's house to collect these things. It get's to a point where you just have to let some of them go. Like the Forest Dwellers Sword. I could have sworn there were only like 3 in the game, but I know for a fact I've come across more than that. Just got one finishing up all my shrines the other night. It actually has an attack up modifier of +7. I don't really know what to do with it, I've run out of display room in Link's house, and I'm bound to come across, or need something better even with all my melee weapons slots. Nintendo should really look into rectify this in future games for people with OCD who have trouble getting rid of stuff, but eventually have to for practical reasons.
I once found the Forest Dweller's Sword in a shrine but i only remember that it had to do with a blue flame, torch and updrafts.

I am not defeating a single divine beast until I have acquired and fully upgraded every possible set of armour that exists in game which can be acquired without beating a divine beast... WHY? because its an open world game and I CAN.

One of the recent updates made the Forest Dweller's Sword available as a possible drop in certain shrine chests. One example: It is now a possible drop in one of the "random" weapon chests in the Keeha Yoog Shrine.
Actually why do we want the lynel crusher, spear and mighty ones while there is an advanced version? For the compedium, I can just buy it from the heteno guy, so they are trash.

SHITTTT I GOT RID OF MY FOREST DWELLER SWORD FOR A FLAMBLADE (i found the forest dweller early in the game for some reason)

In my Zelda BOTW game I never use the Kite Shield. As soon as I have gotten one I put it inside Link's house. Cause I had a feeling it is an item in the game that you can't really get again. I am glad to see I was right. The same goes for the Forest Dweller's set. Which I also have hanging inside of Link's house. But for the Lynel weapons I don't have nor do I think I am ever going to have them. Since no matter how good and ready I am to fight one. They still end up killing me almost instantly. So I just try to avoid them. Or make them disappear with an ancient arrow. I rather take my chances with the Guardians and Ganon. Than to take another chance at fighting a Lynel. At least with the Guardians they are totally fun to kill them. Lynels not so much for me.
The Kite Shield is easily my favorite item in the game. I had no idea that it was good for shield surfing, though... What makes it better for that?

Then I got flashbacks to using it as a heat source.
There will always be a red mianed lynel on ploymus mountain every blood moon
However it ALWAYS has the sword, shield and bow. It will never have a spear or Crusher.

It's a weird case with the Forest Dweller's Sword. It technically does respawn, but it's Damia's & Link can't keep it.

The Forest Dweller’s Sword was so cool. It looked like the Enma Blade.
There’s one more weapon which doesn’t respawn. The game doesn’t exactly give you a choice whether to keep it or not; once you pick it up, you’ll never be able to lose it again. It’s found right in the middle of Korok forest, in front of the Deku tree
But you can lose it
