Secretly taken video that was shown on tv of horses corralled in the slaughter yard that included retired race horses, even well known race winners, perfectly healthy horses that should have been retired to pasture but instead became dog food. They could identify the horses from markings and tattooed numbers visible in the video. The issue there is that the race trainers often sell the retired horses in good faith but then from that point on there’s no responsibility for their retirement care so the new owner can send them to slaughter for no good reason other than they don’t want to pay to maintain them as retired animals. I think the government has now put in place a system where the trainer must be responsible until the horses natural end of life regardless of who they are sold to or resold to.
Many are 'donated' to greyhound rescue groups .... that's where I adopted mine from. Super sweet!🐾❤
@@redsloane879 They make great pets. Some people think because they are seen on tv wearing muzzles that they are bad doggies, but that is totally wrong. They are very sweet fur babies 🐶 They do like to chase things though.
Presenters voice is awesome..need this reporter to do more videos
Faster then a cheetah?
the cheetah has a higher top speed but it is a sprinter. this dog can maintain the speed for a much longer time making it faster on average at a greater distance.
I knew it: one cheetah out of every…….. ohhhh….. 2 million can run at top speed for about 1.25 kilometres. By the time you get them to 3 kilometres, they are over in the shade drinking a tonic and water. There are no cheetah distance runners but they will jog or walk that far.

Their face is even aerodynamic.
might have been cute if the entire dog breed didn't look malnourished
When a Greyhound walks in....
Cough's, excuse me who's the fastest?
A little dishonest with those stats fellers...

Wow the Salukis are the god of speed 😂😘
"Fastest land animal on the planet"
Cheetah: "Am I a joke to you?"
He's talking speed over distance. Cheetahs can't hold their top speed for long. That dog did it for 3 kilometers under the scorching heat of the desert.
Excellent breed, a pure suluki
