The bridge and pin height also need to be taken down to reduce the pull. I use a spoke plane with no trouble.

Hi there, tune the 12 String Martin down to an Open D Tuning it‘s better for the bridge and the 12 Sting lives longer. If you are in Open D Tuning you are automaticly in Standard E Tuning if you put a Capo on the second Fret

@florianweigel4165 Thank you! I knew about the tuning etc. it was not my guitar, so I left it the way it was. 12 string guitars should have a better truss rod in my opinion. thanks again! Jake

The main problem is the preamp WHICH has a velcro bag inside so to change the battery you have to loosen ALL the strings. Pull out the bag. And the tighten all the strings again
I took out the cheap Fishman and put in a K&K. Sounds much better and there's no battery.
    $750 for axe
    $129 for K&k pickup.
    Did installation with friend.
    It will need a setup.
The K&K doesn't sound like rubber bands.
It holds up to all the other Martin's. D12 D28 GPC's but try it first.

Is $375 a good price for a used one? How does it sound compared to the D12-28? I have the D28 12 string but it’s not electric and I don’t play out with it fear of loss or damage. Will this one accommodate?

@thirdgearband not a bad price if it's in good shape. I would go up another level if you can swing it.

@@guitarhoarder1972 how’s the sound compared to my D28? I guess this Mexican one is a laminate right?
