My father bought the superstinger 400 still in the crate in 73. Coolest thing I ever seen. Great sled.

I wish they could bring back Scorpion. Imagine the sleds they would be building today.

Just some friendly info for you. That is a 73. And the 440 should only be a JLO engine. Doesn't sound like a JLO so it would one of two thing. Some one transplanted a CCW in there or its a 440 super stinger hood on a 400RV Super Stinger. Nice sled though. My favourite vintage chassis by far. I have the whole 73 Scorpion line up. Just love em' !!!!

yeah i noticed it too, the motor doesn't have the characteristic JLO whine to it

My father-in -law had this same 440 sitting outside at his Eagle River WI cottage from '82 to '04 when i dragged it to the dump. He said it was too hard to pull start and bought a Polaris 440 w/ electric start in '83.

The original engine was a Jlo. It did run pretty good but over the years we replaced it with a 440 ccw from a jdx8 John Deere. We love the way the sled handles and for the time period it is a great all around sled!!

Kind of ironic they named a snowmobile after an insect that doesn't live in cold country.
