I bought one! Thank you flateratemaster. I bought this only to work on brakes because my foreman hates me and wont let me touch his tools lol
after the promo and sale, it was $170 and some change with all the promos. pretty good!
Thank you Mike for your informational videos
Thanks Mike for another great video.
Ordered, Thank you!
Reading the comments sounds like alot of people here needs to invest in either this or another scan tool. I mean seriously, if you are a technician/mechanic and you don't have a scan tool in this day and age. What the hell are you even doing? Buy the best scanner you can afford because it is an investment, learn how to use it, learn how to diagnose and you will be successful in this industry. I've been in this industry professionally for only 7 years and I'm expecting to clear $100k this year. And I don't work at some big city shop. I don't even remember the last time I had a comeback, it's been months to a year. Words of wisdom, from what I've seen, the tech in the shop with a tool box with half empty drawers will never come close to a $100k year. Haven't seen it yet.
Happy Friday (:
Hey scotty, how is this a good option when we regularly see topdon artidiag on sale?
i just power probe it on the 2 wire ones
10/10
Are there any subscription fees? Are there any gateway security issues with it. Have you had any issues with it not being able to come out of service mode. I’ve run into that more than once. I’m looking for something. That’s basically a service scanner for all the things you mentioned. Brakes oil, life resets. The service interval resets becoming a real pain. Especially the ones that are just deep in the entertainment console touchscreen of some of these new cars. It’s actually pretty ridiculous.
I just take the two hex screw holding the motor to the caliber and remove the motor and then turn the parking brake with a screwdriver
Can also take off the motor part off the caliper and rotate it in the right direction by hand pushing the piston in
Not electric parking brakes. You'll blow up a several hundred dollar part doing that. Ask me how I know....
@@ben10mamaThis is with the electric parking brakes.I do this and never had a problem yet.Trick is getting the motor on the shaft lined up right going in all the way
@@ben10mama Yes, you can on some of them. Prob not all, though. On many you can also unplug the connector and feed power and ground to the terminals and electrically wind it in or out. Then you just push the piston straight back in. No fault codes. I’ve done it on Audis in a pinch when the scanner was down.
yep 100% I have done this on bmw/audi and mercedes. No damage ever has happened, just be gently screwing the triple-square bolt in. Then you can push the piston in easy. On electric calipers/parking brakes. I have done this faster then stopping and go grabbing a scanner etc. I can have the motor off faster then looking for a scanner and boot up etc.
@@ben10mamayou can do that, im a GM tech and they actually recommend do this as an alternative to the scan tool if one is not available.
Additional steps without additional pay.
Unsure of other OEMs. Lexus does pay .2 more for releasing electric parking brakes for service.
@@itsreaper1644 that’s respectable, thanks for sharing.
You can hold the switch to back off the electric PB scan tool is not required.
Not every car has that option
Not every car does that
Not all model years.
Shop booster pack and jumper wires/power probe. Problem solved
