I just unchained myself from my work desk..... I put a bid in for part time and I got it. Ive been a bed side nurse in adult ICUs for 30yrs , last 5yrs was an offfice gig. I appreciate the time off my feet but sitting for 40++hrs a week is the new smoking. All take all my $ and move to Europe somewhere....😊❤ Thanks guys for your inspiration 🙏 😊
Off topic, how old are your little dogs. We have a 19yo Jack Russell Terrier called Reg, we just love him. We had a Golden Retriever, Ella, who passed at 16yo and always imagined we'd have bigger dogs until Reg found his was to us as an abused rescue 14 years ago. Sadly his days with us are numbered, but he has been such a super little dog. Your two just look so happy coming along with you everywhere :)
Oh big time. 3 months cost us $6500 USD in Saranda. We are on track for the $26k per year estimate. We could spend less than we do and stay more at home but we like to go out during the day. I bet we could cut $500 USD a month out of our budget if need be. Anyone with the financial resources at their disposal, should really consider this lifestyle. We miss friends and family but we meet new people all the time... and I can tell you, we wouldn't be living in the places we are living now if we were at home. My staring on my balcony right now at the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. This apartment view would cost MILLIONS of dollars back at home. Here.. $700 USD a month.
We paid a grand total of $69 dollars plus tax ($300 total) to fly from Canada to the UK, and another $200 GBP to fly to Albania. When you are retired and not in a rush you can find some amazing deals. But overall, yes this is included in the budget. We do not plan to fly much annually, it's not necessary. Big ticket flights for us this year will be to fly to probably Bangkok, but we will book a return flight to bring us back to the Balkans. Flights or bus between countries here are cheap. Flying around all the time is a budget killer, most people who do this do NOT do that.
We started off in 2020 with two small dogs. When our eldest chihuahua died there at 15.5 years of age, we adopted a dog from a shelter. We thought she was full grown. When we realized she was not and would be too large to fit in the cabin of a plane we figured out a way to buy a car and register it in Europe. We have now been doing that for 3 years and traveling full time for 4 years.
I watched one youtube vlogger who mentioned about the sad news re: US citizens privilege of a 1 year no visa-stay has been scrapped? would appreciate your update on this. thanks
No such news is findable, nor is anyone here talking about this. It would definitely be a big topic in this community. Who is this blogger? I find nothing that would validate his proclamation.
Early in 2022, Albania proposed to change it but quickly dropped the idea. As of today’s date, Americans can stay 12 months, then must be out for 90 days, then they can return for another 23 etc..

I don't have stress from working on a regular basis but I do have stress of the exorbitant amount of costs that the US has and the lack of fair wages compared to quality of living
We have kids back home who are grown adults. If they want to come visit, perfect. We might go home once every 2 years to see people. You have to make sacrifices in life, it's short. Faced with an expensive cost at home that would require us to possibly continue to work, or being able to retire early (early 50's) and travel the world.. it was an easy decision. There is no need to be sitting around near adult children, I would encourage then to be free and travel as well.
@@WarrenJulieTravel Wow, congratulations to your son and future DIL! If your son and his bride decide to start a family, have you guys thought about how, if at all, that might impact your nomadic lifestyle? We have 6 grandkids, the youngest 3 years of age, and we find ourselves making at least 3-4 visits to the U.S. annually for several weeks to a month at a time. Both the time commitment and cost of travel for those visits has definitely affected how we travel.
We have kids back in Canada but they are grown adults with their own lives. The world is small and plane rides are not that long if you need to connect. For other things there is technology to connect.
