What's the armour shown at 00:08
The winged helm looks awesome
Ah, Fashion Wars 2... The true Endgame.
Your eye for beautiful combinations is really amazing
Thank you so much! 🎉
Warbeast set is hands down the most versatile set in the entire game. It checks all boxes and can be mixmatched with pretty much everything. I love it
Agreed!
It is nice to see you are still doing your fashion wars. I was struggling to find armor that wasn't outfits for some of my characters and your video's have been wonderfully helpful.
Glad to help, happy armour hunting.
What a great Video !!! I really appreciate the Time and Effort that you invested
A fashion video... just awesome :) I love that every time i watch one of your fashion video's i find a set i did not know about :)
Your voice is so precious. I absolutely adore your videos and have been a fan since PoF. Can't wait for more lore videos, as those are my favorites.
Keep it up girl! :)
Thanks for the love ❤️ and i do plan to continue the lore series this year.
your videos are always entertaining and your voice is soothing :)
Thank you 💕
the Fashion wars, is what they were referring too when it was said "War Never Changes" Every time I think I have made it, some new shiny shows up...I am still forging Exordium!
You can do it!! It’s a long journey but worth it in the end. 💕
Such a great source of inspiration! Awesome work
And I think the Bladed light armor is probably one of my favorites, I've rocked it on my Reaper (with bat shoulders for extra Necro flavor) since heart of thorns 😁
It does feel very appropriate for the reaper profession.
Love all your choices - there are so many great armors in this game! As an elementalist main, my favorite armor sets are the Phoenix, Incarnate, and Bounty Hunter sets. My favorite look for my character is composed of the Phoenix chest piece, Incarnate leggings, Bounty Hunter gloves and boots, and Feathered headpiece to give her a feathery noblewoman theme.
Those are some awesome pieces!
Two favorites sets of mine frequently used is the medium Nightmare Court male (for male sylvari specifically) and the light Funerary female set from PoF.
Enjoyed the video!
Thanks for the love and sharing your faves. 🤗💕
The different dyes can make such a huge difference. There are some boring looking sets that become so good with just a little coloring :)
Funeary has really good armor pieces, as well as the dungeon armors like Nightmare Court from Twilight Arbor.
Using the whole armor set is nice, but using different armor pieces that compliments each other, so that they don't clip.
While most armor sets from Core have low Quality such as less polygons and low texture, with right dyeing they can look both authentic and fashionable. Beside your character will look completely unique from the others.
As for dyeing with the help of Color Theorem of your choosing, you can dye your character with 7-28 different dyes (since 1 dye will look different from different armor set and backpiece).
Not every dyes needs to be Exclusive, just find a mix of dyes from of a color you choose.
Overall find a theme that you are looking for. Some matches both the armors the colors from the undyeables weapons or backpieces (which is the best way to start from), while others focus to find a place for their character in the world of Guild Wars.
Although Outfits are nice since you can make lower level character look good, you can only dye up to 4 colors for it.
But if your Endgame is Fashion Wars and probably want to enter Fashion Contest, then different armor pieces with mix of colors to it is the best way.
Check on GuildWarsDyeJob on reddit or Gw2style to see their work as well as upload your character.
Gosh thanks for taking the time to share and advise. I rare wear complete sets, there are maybe one or two which are exception but mix and matching is my jam too. - Many hugs
I've been rocking the Seer set ever since I hit 80 10 million years ago.
Never had the heart to change it.
Its a brilliant set, I completely understand.
that's what alts are for!
Requiem set from Jahai Bluffs will always be my favorite. I like to mix and match armor sets to come up with cool combos though, for the most part.
Agreed on helms and hats, they should almost never be used! A lot of work goes into hair and facial features, don't hide it, flaunt it!
I have a good bit of outfits and I really like the Rox's Pathfinder, Astral Scholar, True Assassin, and finally Defiant Glass works on every character and color set, it's the most versatile of all.
I too rarely rock an entire set and love to mix and match my armours to create unique looks. I just wish we had more new hairstyles and less new hats!!!
I love your voice and your incredibly well put together videos. You're the best!
Thanks for the love!
Your voice is amazing love to see it go beyond gw2, documentaries, tv shows these things
ive been waiting for these
I hope it does not disappoint! 🤞
@@FornaxTheHerald sad i have favorites that u didnt include lol but its ok
While I loved Warbeast light and Requiem Light, and Sylvari cultural is just incredible - my absolute favorite for female body types is Nightmare Court Light from TA. It is just so pretty.
Those old school cultural sets are hard beat even a decade on.
I use just about all of these from time to time in various combinations, but I don't seem to have your eye for color. You made all these sets look better than I ever could. I like how you tend to match hair/skin tones with the armor, and I think not having a bajillion particle effects and lazers going on draws more attention to the armor itself. I am inspired.
I find enamelled dyes, and especially the Darkness dye, bring out the fine detail in sets. Thanks for the love
No lasers? What is this, 2012?
My current favourite for pulling off a higher tech look is Holographic Gloves, Boots and Shoulders from the Dragonbash event coupled with the Runic pants and chestpiece from Strikes in IBS.
For the IBS Strikes, I also like the light Runic Hunter leggings because it is one of the few that sports a heavier, metallic looking and doesn't have a covering skirt or butcape.
Your videos are my safe space
The aurene champion outfit with cold colours set (winter blue, light purple, white) on a girl looks absolutely stunning
the funerary jerkin for female norn looks incredible when painted with bright colours or black
No-one is more trusted on this topic than The Krytan Herald. Such excellent taste. Great video, great game, thanks :)
Thank you so much for your kind word /hugs 🤗❤️
Holy moly, who are you my lady 😙 First time I've seen one of ur clips 😃👍
Welcome aboard! High tea is served at noon and I hope you enjoy your stay.
Wonderfull Video...
These sets look insanely good, i didnt know about any of these 😳
There are some nice skins wish we could get more armors need more fashuuun ideas T_T WTB more high heels for my female characters xD
I like heels in game only hehe
perfect for fashion wars, the true end game of guild wars 2, and literally the reason I'm farming gold.
Also you have a beautiful soothing voice that I could fall asleep to it hits all the right spots I love it
I am roleplaying as Elden Ring Hostile Player in Decade's Armor combined with Rubycon shoulders and Grenth Hood Skin, and of course with Polysaturating Red infusion :) Goes well together with double Mistcleaver or Twilight
I would love to see that!
The T2 light armor set is very underrated on human characters, and i use it on select sets when i want to cosplay my ele as one of those cute krytan mages, as it definitely channels that vibe! xD
Bercilak the Green Knight got me into using Nightmare Court heavy armor.
I've used it for _ten years._
Though in more fiery colours.
*Let's see if I can't find something new.*
Maybe i missed it in the video, what is the set at 00:09?
As someome who is still struggling to choose a profession, this is so awesome to see all the amazing armor sets!!
The nightmare court armor is probably the prettiest thing ive ever seen
so you can get these from pve like dungeons ?
what gloves are those that were used with the bladed armor set?
Everything in this video is straight up candy : the visuals, the music, your voice... Such hard work, so well done, thank you immensely for this !
I have a question though : I'm struggling to find a human female body type that works well with everything. What body type did you use on the character who wears the Astral Scholar Oufit ? It seems pretty well balanced and very close to what I'm looking for.
Cheers !
Great vid, boss
I spotted it as i was sorting out the chapters. There’s always at least one error per video >.< /hugs
at 7:05 what is the human female to the far left wearing? bottom looks like a chained codpiece, top is a chain strapped bustiere.
I think its - wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gladiator_armor
Hi, I am thinking of returning to GW2 and had played before for about 6 years or so but no longer have the account. So I am starting over from scratch and was wondering if the Complete Collection package includes the mounts? Raptor, Rabbit, Griffon, and the above water one. Sorry can't remember the name. or at least does the expansion unlock the mounts and thus, purchasable? Or must I go and grind for these all over again? Ugh. And does this elite package also unlock the jumping mushroom thing or would I need to do all of HoT? I thank you in advance for any info or advice on how to proceed if at all.
If I were you I would try to recover your old account. Unlocking mounts, gliding, mushroom jumping and all the other weird and wonderful masteries is part of the journey. Some are easier to get than others. However all require you to either play the story or work through a pvp or wvw reward track. I hope you enjoy your adventures in Tyria and welcome back.🤗❤️
Nice toplist!
I think undeservedly forgotten:
Human Cultural T3 of all weights
Norn Cultural Medium T2, Heavy T3 (both are amazing, especially Med T2 coat. I use a lot on my Norn chars)
Sylvari Light T3 (Imho. Im not a big fan of this race, but this armor one of the few that i like)
Order of Whispers medium armor also quite good
From Path of Fire Spearmarshal heavy are super nice. Very detailed and wth nice colouring possibilities.
And at the end, where is Requiem armor? although not perfect in some ways (except light one), but still very good
In truth there are just so many brilliant sets, here I chose the ones I tend to use most.
Thanks for sharing these awesome sets too!!
Yeah, I think Requiem is one of my favorites in light and medium too.
I want you to read me bedtime stories. Such a calming voice.
Thanks for the love.
I have played my female elementalist for 8 years and i have rarely changed her armor...i combined the light phoenix vest with the trappings of the lich legs to create a amazing battle dress ....together with stiletto's, elf ears, angel's halo and wings....she's the ultimate battle angel.........
I would love to see that!
For my main (female medium), my go-to getup is is: Magitech chestpiece and leggings, Koda's shoulderpad, Medium Antique Gloves, and Mist Shard Boots.
The real challenge is to make the metallic bits play together.
The only set that I use whole-sale is the mist shard heavy set. The gloves are the only long grind, but they are unique enough that I haven't been able to find a replacement piece for it.
What Anet needs to do is add more than 5 medium chest pieces that aren't coats. There are at least 2 leggings in medium that are sexy enough that I want to unhide them but are unable to find a chest that shows the same dye in the same shade.
Medium armours do suffer from duster bias. I too rare rock and entire set, mixing and matching is so much fun.
@@FornaxTheHerald especially when you find matching pieces that show dyes in the same shade or treatment. Which is probably why mist shard heavy can't be used except in its on set.
Our tastes are very similar. Especially regarding outfits, I get more compliments when I'm using the Defiant Glass outfit. It's on a Norn weaver who has gotten some wolf whistles and praise in map chats. I'm also a huge fan of the Magitech medium armor skins. I love their look on my female engineers and thieves. And, as a gag skin, I have the Pirate Hook glove skin from the BLTC on a female charr Mechanist to illustrate that she had an unfortunate accident in the lab while installing the power core in her new jad mech. lol
I have a question/request for your more experienced opinion. I love the Sylvari class feel as a race (I love their youthful exuberance) but I resist playing them because I have the biggest problem coordinating the colors used in creating the individual Sylvari with the colors of their armor while still respecting who and what a Sylvari is in my mind. I want them to look "believable" with authentic colors from nature while still not looking like my salad came to life and walked off my table. lol Sylvari are the biggest consumers of my stash of Total Makeover Kits.
I guess this comes down to my interest in more advice on how to "Color Style" the individual toon with reverence for the race as well as the gear. If that makes sense. Norn and humans are easy. Sylvari are hardest and Charr and Asura are somewhere in between.
Thanks again for another highly enjoyable video.
Sylvari can be hard to colour, especially when they are wearing cultural armour. I find neutral colours to be the easiest to live with long term but there is something awesome about having a brilliant red character. I could make a video about colour theory.
Heya, at @4:36 what weapon skin is that :0
I know it is a little thing to most, but timestamps make or break a video like this. Thank you! Also how is that Dry Silver treating you in 2023 XD
Clutter appears to be in fashion this season. Katherine Hepburn, Tyria needs you now.
Asura Light, I think tier 3, is possibly one of the coolest caster sets in the game. Just wish the goggles could be toggled to be over your eyes or on your forhead
Its a great set and if you can, photoshop and share with the devs on twitter. You never, they could see it and be inspired.
@@FornaxTheHerald hopefully lol, when I played WoW and they released the Gnome Cultural Armor, I suggested like 100 times that the goggles for that set be toggled(they are like tier 3 with the goggles plastered to the forhead) yet the Goblin Cultural armor has the option to buy two helmets one with goggle down one with goggles up.... but I guess thats Blizzard for you😂.
finally some new fashion wars content ^^ do u think u could start an fashion contest ingame at some point? or do u think u could start a insta acc where u post nice looking outfits with the ingredients linked for everyone to get inspired? :)
My favourite set not mentioned is the Runic set from Icebrood Saga.
Please tell me which hair color the left Norn has at 1:11 😍
How could you mention the IBS armors without the Runic set!
The thing is... the best looking armors for me are simple base game sets, Draconic for my warrior, and Winged for my mesmer. The glittering weapons fit nicely with the Winged set. A lot of the sets are way too bulky or are either too plain or over the top with special effects.
Epic
I'm not good at picking favorites. And I haven't played with heavy armor much at all. But I'll try anyway. In no particular order.
I think Carapace is pretty good, and yeah especially heavy. I haven't unlocked all the luminescent version, though.
Nightmare Court is great. Though the headpieces I mostly switch out. There's good stuff in the sylvari cultural armor, but I often lean to nightmare instead for my sylvari characters.
Requiem, Runic, Warlord, Illustrious, and Luminous are ones I use quite a bit.
I'm nowhere near as good with the color theory and such. So while I like the idea of playing with the styles I'm not so great at pulling it off. So I'm really amazed with how well our Krytan Herald demonstrates fashion artistry. And with such a pleasant narration too.
My goodness thanks for the love and honestly I have to try hard to get colours to work. Dyes like the enamelled series and the darkness help to bring out the fine detail often hidden on pieces.
Oh, yeah, I use the enameled dyes pretty often too.
I also have used Abyssal Forest a lot.
Is any possibility to earn these skins for free? I mean i didnt play gw2 but i like customization my character.
Armor of Koda is the easiest medium armor set to mix in with individual pieces, I find.
True!
Isn't Envoy armor basically HoT content? Since it's from the HoT raids
I looked up the dates and shockingly not.
For cultural armor i could honestly just go all norn. The best from tier 1 to 3 on both genders still to this day. The game gets new armors, but norn cultural always looks good.
My favourites of the armors I discovered so far:
(somewhat feminine) Male human Elementalist:
Custom set: Flame Eye + Nightmare Court Mantle + Foefire Chestguard + Immortal Light Ring + Embroidered Pants + Tribal Walkers (Low cost bare foot skin)
Mistforged Triumphant Hero's armor for when it's cold out there.
Elonian Elementalist Outfit
All with the fabulous Light of Dwayna backpiece. You can see a picture of my custom set in my avatar/background or my GW2 Wiki: User:Aranimda
I would honestly love to see those looks. I too mix and match my armours and rarely wear a complete set. The only two that I do rock complete are snapdragon and wolf.
You forgot the Runic Armor set, one of the nicest good looking set.
Came for engineer transmogs… stayed for the ASMR voice.
is it possible to make the video smaller?
❤❤❤❤❤
There are only 2 fashions in GW2.
The blinding, shining, shimmering
and
The dark, all black, shadow.
And I find it hilarious, and it results to an obnoxiously, senseless looking toons. 🤣😂
A tab harsh perhaps but hey we like what we like, and don't what we don't. llap
@@FornaxTheHerald and that's what makes the fashion wars more fun 😂
I have a favorite one. An oversized male norn dressed with the maid costume and the sylph wings. and his toon name is Tinkerballs.
Saw him at a tequatl meta map. 😂🤣😅
Ice brood Saga Strike Missions Heavy armor set is for me the best looking armor in game. Cool voice btw very sexy :D
You have a great narrating voice
Thank you so much 😊
Why do we still not have a cortana TTS with your voice heinh ?
Im game! lol
Wooo
Now this is true endgame content....
When I see your videos I notice that practically there aren't bad looking armors, the problem is that we don't know to combine dyes as you, haha.
Hey Fornax :) love your fashion wars series. Maybe a chance you see the comment here: do you recall the dyes used in the runic armor and spearmarshalls armor set used in this earlier video ruclips.net/video/TXM8KFc8QOI/видео.html Love the look :)
Btw leg raid armor came out back in season 3
Thanks for the correction!
@@FornaxTheHerald np thanks for the cool video!
Your voice tho ✨️
Personally I enjoy generic looking armors to look like a generic warrior/mage etc., but GW2 offers almost none of that, especially on light armor, and there are so. many. skirts! My favorite set so far is the Runic Armors from Icebrood Saga strikes. My Reaper is outfitted with a full set of Light Runic Armor, because "yeah I'm a Necromancer, but I don't actually want to die so I'll armor myself."
My second favorite is the Monastery set from End of Dragons, more fitting for ranged spellcasters in my opinion, so obviously my Condition Weaver wears that. My Canthan Mesmer also wears it because it looks cultural.
Raiders, help her get the legendary envoy armor! 🙌
I would be a millstone around any raid teams neck sadly, but its a nice thought
I was looking for this comment. I would love to help you How can we get in touch. I have a static group and we can get you that beautiful heavy skin. It’s my favorite too
No love for Draconic heavy armor? Sad 😔
Lots of love but I was spoilt for choice hehe
charr need their own vid cos it's so hard to find good looking sets 🤣
edit: also hey guildie
There is already a dedicated Charr fashion video. It’s over a year old but there are lots of sets and combo in it.
@@FornaxTheHerald well you've inspired me to make a norn female rev for WvW using braham's set, now i have 4g to my name 🤣
the question is now for me...were in gods name can i get them ? :D
i don't understand why vanilla armor from 2012 looks fine but new gem store armor like the rest of that fire armor the chest looks low texture ress
So I’ve been watching all the armors, even in the gallery, have tested a lot of pieces together and my verdict is Gw2 free armors are awful, ugly. I think the new team made them this way so players spend money on gem store skins. Gem store skins are fine.
Of course, there are 10-15% of free armors that have potential and can give fine results. Thank you tho for the showcase ❤
Best cultural armor sets are Norn t3 heavy male (best set overall probably in whole game), Charr t1 and t3 heavy, Asura t3 heavy, t2 and t3 medium, and t3 light, Human t3 light female and t3 medium female. Don’t really care for any of the others especially the Sylvari ones those are ugly af
Those are some awesome sets, we just love what we love.
The best looking armor in GW2 is the armor that YOU pick out and dye. YOU look at your toon more than any other player does.
90% of these are really bad. so bad
