  • MotoMan drives an all-new car from Toyota, the 2021 Toyota Venza. The Toyota Venza for 2021 is yet another crossover from Toyota that confusingly sits between a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and some still competition from Toyota’s Lexus brand yet as we learn in a round of our famous #OptionsGame stands out because it is only offered the US in AWD with a Hybrid propulsion system.

I love the fact that it’s not leather. For the most part automotive leather is cheap and plastic feeling anyways. Also this material will still look new in 10 years while the real leather will be worn. Really the most important thing in a car seat is cooled seats for these stupid hot Missouri summers.

@Todd m our car has real leather, our daughter has the lexus faux leather both are the same year 2013 hers has 100k miles ours has 60k miles but her seats still look brand new ours have the cracks and the usual marring of leather even with me conditioning and taking care of it!
I would be willing to go with the faux leather on a Toyota/ lexus after seeing what its like......

Everything else I have it. I absolutely love my new venza . Black on black . I also love the fact that is not leather , this material last longer . Love it!!

I’m Japanese. And I’m a big fan of Harrier.
When i heard this car is called “venza” in US, I’m a little bit confused.
In Japanese, venza (べんざ) means “toilet seat”(便座).

First new car I bought in 30 years. It gets 500 miles on $ 35 worth of gas. You don't have to worry about charging it . It's beautiful, luxurious and cheap. It's the best SUV for the money period. I bought Toyota stock (TM) after I bought the car and am ahead it that. I will never buy another fully gas car again unless it's a vintage drive on Sunday job.

Here’s Venza meaning according to Toyota: Venza is a combination of the words “venture” and “Monza,” a city in Northern Italy with a race course named Autodromo Nazionare Monza.

We've had our Venza Limited for just over a year now and love it. It's comfortable and quiet to drive, especially on the highway. It always has enough power (just did a 1300 mile road trip down the west coast, up and down mountain passes). I do wish the moonroof opened but I appreciated the ability to block out the sun but not have a dark interior. I also wish we could have got a tan interior with the Blueprint blue exterior. We are currently averaging 38.1 mpg (from day 1) which is amazing. As Motoman says, it is nicer than a RAV4 which is what we wanted but at the time, we found the Venza nicer inside than the Lexus NX and the RX was too expensive.
PS it has an eCVT not a regular CVT. Very different and you can definitely tell the difference when driving the Venza.

We got out 2022 Venza XLE in Blizzard Pearl 3-months ago. Love it so far. We had to wait 2-months to take delivery as the shipments from the factory in Japan were delayed. Apparently Venza deliveries are currently delayed even longer today.

If we hadn't bought a Camry Hybrid in 2020, it would have been a Venza. Now I'm trying to be patient until the 2023's come out, but it won't be easy.

I look at all the layers of screens you have to go through on some cars (eg. go through the screen to get the heated seats turned on or adjust the side mirrors) and then think the Venza is pretty simple and straightforward.

    1. It's larger than a RAV4 but smaller on the inside.
    2. Less headroom than a RAV4, and even less with the sunroof.
    3. No volume knob on the larger 10" screen.
    4. The rear turn signal lights are integrated into the bumper and are too low.
    5. Offer it as a plug-in hybrid.
    6. Would prefer a moonroof (opens to the elements) than a sunroof with the glass that frosts on/ off.

I don't agree with your title. It might be factual that the platforms are the same. It might be factual that it is cheaper. But that is about where it ends. You cannot claim a VW Passat is the same as a Mercedes C class. The quality is too far apart. ;) Same here trying too say the Venza is just a less expensive Lexus RX. Toyota makes reliable long lasting vehicles. And some of their upper trims can get nice interior. But Lexus is 2 steps above in luxury quality.

the argument of a 15k cheaper rx doesn't make sense. v6 naturally aspirated hp vs hybrid hp. cvt vs 8 speed auto. less space. less warranty. the rx will have less issues over the life of the vehicle. every reviewer is saying the same thing about the rx vs venza. they shouldn't be in the same conversation imo. also if you can afford the high end venza do yourself the favor and spend a bit more and just get the lexus.

We are supposed to get away from plastics and move toward renewable sources. So let’s use leather. BUT WAIT! We need to be vegan so let’s go back to plastic and vinyl. Hmmm. Which political group will win??

Prefer vegan fake leather over the real thing please, it lasts longer too without peeling cracking. The lack of dials etc is a showstopper, yes I would not buy because of the infotainment system.
