Really appreciate your comments on comfort. People really underestimate how much that plays a role and I wish more reviewers would talk about it. I cannot stand earpads (particularly the round ones) compress my ears because don't match the shape of my ears. I don't want to keep fidgeting with them for comfort when I put them on. Meze, Sennheiser, Dan Clark Audio, and even Hifiman does this well with some of their models. Thinking about the Susvara, it makes me sad a bit, because they're probably the best sounding headphones I've heard, but I'm selling them because they're not comfortable enough. If only they'd make a Susvara with the egg shaped cups....man, that would be magical!
That aside, regarding the Caldera, I know they're heavy. Do you also find the pads compress your ears like the Susvara?

Thanks for the kind words ! I couldn't agree more with you. I also owned the susvara and I wished the same of them. I hated that the drivers were basically pushed up again the ears . The Caldera does fix it somewhat , if you get their thicker pads along with the headphone. I actually sold the susvara and got Caldera instead. The sound is nearly up there with the susvara aside from the airyness that the susvara brings but the build quality of the susvara made me very uncomfortable having spent that amount of money on them and getting quite frankly a shoddy build and terrible box to store them when I travel. The Caldera did fix those issues for me , but I still crave that meze elite style ear cup and regret selling that pair. I hope that gives you a little more clarity !

You can replace the heavy components with magnesium parts to lighten them up at purchase 🤦‍♂️

Absolutely ! Though for me in particular I don't think it's solely to do with the weight , like I mentioned my one in particular is pretty light , but it's the shape , and perhaps the lack of a suspension style band , that creates the tension in my neck , so it's perceived as heavier on my head even though it ain't that heavy. I must just have a weird head to be honest

@@Stufftalktv Even if it is one of the lighter sets, it is probably still around 500 grams. That is a full water bottle on your head! Of course it is going to feel heavy lol.
