If the caldera closed is a 100/100 for closed backs in technical performance and 98/100 for tuning. What would you rate an Antrim closed and verite closed on both categories across wide range of genres?
Hmm... I think I'm going to keep my Atrium Closed & Verite Closed pairing rather than picking up the Caldera Closed. The CC might be a great split between the two if you can only have one pair, though.
I agree with 90% of your observations. I agree that ZMF makes the best closed backs and the Caldera closed is probably the best closed back I have heard. BUT, I own and still prefer my Caldera open. I love the dynamic sound of the open and IMO the closed sounds quite a bit more damped and softer. And I think the open version has a little better resolution across the FR range, not just in the mids.
Thanks again for your nice work and impressions! For metal music exclusively, would you go with either Caldera or Atrium or their closed counterparts? Keep up the nice work :)
Very interesting talk about Harman curve, standards and feelings. A couple years ago you were so thrilled with the Ferrum amp stack, but later on the Susvara's 20 amps you did not recommend it... guess you have tested many good stuff later, but as someone not interested in Susvara would you recommend Caldera's with Oor, Hypsos and Wandla? or any better combo that doesn't take too much desk space? I can't test the Caldera in Europe, would be a blind buy cause also need amp and dac for it, so your opinion as someone so experienced would help a lot before such compromise, thx!!
I don’t know….. I think that because I already owned the Caldera Open, the closed version didn’t blow me away. I’ve been more impressed by the value/ performance ratio of the Bokeh.
What would be the ideal ZMF for me? I listen to metal, mostly death metal. I like impact and punch, strong bass and highs that dont stab my ears. Does ZMF still offer the Atticus?
@@LSDScreen I mean I own both, Caldera is different, but quantity and power and quality as well, on the same solid state setup, Caldera eats dust, as they say figuratively and literally.
@@SergeySedlovsky I sold my Caldera recently. I also sold my Susvara, Meze Elite, Focal Radiance, HE1000v2, Modhouse Tungsten, LCD 2.2 Pre-Fazor and Kennerton Gjallaehorn since I got Immanis. Everything just sounds like a toy compared to Immanis.

A wonderful onslaught of opinions. Thank you, sir. Loved what you had to say here. This is an exciting headphone and I’m dying to try it. ❤

You should make a dedicated video on the problems with the Harman target curve!
I totally should 😊
