I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure at 16:04 when Sanford's body get's pushed into the ground this is actually Doc moving his body to the destination Deimos is driving to throughout the whole episode, his body is being pulled to the extraction point hence why Sanford's body is in a completely different place by the end of the episode.
@@lacaritafeliz3570 simple The auditor didn't. after sandford's whole deal with being dragged under the auditor notably shakes their fist in frustration and alongside that, the power they use in that scene is the same power they use in this episode and previous ones to control people. the auditor is likely trying to control sandford as doc (or someone else) intervenes.
Loved the analysis video. As somebody that has a huge passion for madness combat (researching and stuff is daily now) this helped a lot understanding what’s going on. I do believe tho that why hank is resistant to the decaying or dissolving effect in the other place is because he’s a generation 01, and G01’s can’t dissolve in the other place (Like how Phobos is still well after 30 years). Other than that I loved the analysis, great stuff. Edit: I have received news that this is false. G01s actually dissolve FASTER than the other generations. Hank really is just special. Sorry for the misinformation
The most likely reason that standford & Demos don't tipycal die is mostly do too self preservation wall Hank is well more careless & sociopathic taking note risks for fun & over time knowing he can just be brought back by dock just makes him more & more care free leading him to die more wall Standford and Demos are a duo with more mental stability,Hank also fights solo making him more likely to die despite his skill set do too having no one to watch his back.
So I have a theory relating to M:PN. Krinkels has stated time and time again that M:PN is canon, but I've always wondered exactly **how** that was the case, considering it completely messes with the timeline in a few ways: - First, the Story Mode takes place between MC4 and MC5, but the AAHW predominantly using Agents, Engineers and most importantly, Soldats, who we know only appear from 7.5 onwards, and we also see that Hank reacts to them with surprise and amusement at their singular eye in 9.5, implying it's his first encounter with them. Which is in direct contrast to the fact the man has tore through hundreds of them during M:PN. - Second, Arena Mode. Oh boy, Arena Mode. We know it is very important and probably canon to the story of Madness as a whole, considering the whole Enmeshment thing as well as the fact that Status Quo is indirectly responsible for Project Zed, Christoff and Phobos's lover's spat and every single thing that comes after, but damn doesn't it just completely screw with the timeline. Namely, AAHW units in Fast Track when we're playing more than 30 years before the present events of Madness Combat (evidenced by exhibit A: NCore having an outpost and still actively expanding rather than retreating and licking their wounds, as well as exhibit B: "Fence"/Dr. Crackpot's appearance, his indirect mention of Director Phobos as well as him using the work Doc and SQ did in order to enmesh S3LFs to their bodies, creating Zeds), or the Buoyant Cult appearing in Pit Stop's later waves (from wave 4 onwards, so we could argue that may be non-canon, but like, the AAHW thing has 0 excuse). So we have two very messy timelines, with enemies who appear completely unexplained and completely out of their era, and unless Big Daddy Auditor has a time machine in his back pocket (in which case, why isn't he just going back to Madness 1 and murking Hank?), none of this makes sense. Unless, of course, there are 2 Nevadas. Identical in shape, makeup(Employers, namely) and laws of reality, within the same pool of pain and horror we call the Improbable, but only similar in timeline of events. Both connected by the Stygian. What would this mean? Well, it would explain the AAHW existing before the events of Madness Combat 1 (remember, Christoff had the Keystone Fragment when he appeared in 1, so that had to be after he railed Phobos into dust). It would also mean certain events are out of order between M:PN and Madness Combat proper, but the main players are the same: Doc, SQ, Nexus Core, AAHW, Hank and the Auditor. Which brings me to the meat of my half-mad ramblings: Project Nexus and Madness Combat are the two convergent Occurant Nevadas, now colliding with each other. The two events in question are: Hank's death and dissonance in MC12, and Hank's death and dissonance at the hands of Sanford and Deimos at the end of M:PN. Allow me to explain more about the latter, the former we've already been shown quite clearly, but Hank gathering dissonant energy after M:PN bears some explanation: Gestalt, and Phobos, had been defeated by the four man team just moments before they turned their guns on each other, but we know that in Nevada, and the larger Improbable, Dissonance doesn't just disappear. It is a force dissonant with the mechanics of reality, not Improbable, but rather outright Impossible. We also know Gestalt and Phobos made extensive use of it during the fight against the trio, and further more, Gestalt's insides positively **bleeds** Dissonance. That Dissonance had to go somewhere, and so my theory is that due to Hank's Insolvent nature, the moment his S3LF was thrown into The Other Place, all the leftover Dissonance in the battleground that Phobos now lost? It all latched onto him, and he absorbed all of it, becoming Dissonant like our Hank. Which means we have the following events lining up: - Hank's Charter being revoked, before being granted a new Charter -- Project Nexus's Charter being revoked, before a new one is bestowed upon Christoff. - Hank's S3LF rapidly gaining Dissonance -- Hank's S3LF absorbing Phobos and Gestalt's Dissonance. - The Auditor eschewing decorum and operating directly in Nevada -- The Auditor eschewing decorum and enlisting Christoff into his plans. This may also explain the Stygian's intervention, or rather MC's Stygian: he/she/it is now reaching out to M:PN's Nevada in order to enlist the help of its fellow Employers to correct the course of MC's Nevada. They're not a perfect fit, I'll admit, and this is probably gonna be wrong, but I was just thinking how this could perhaps answer some of the timeline questions I've had about M:PN and Krinkels statements: they're both canon to Madness, because Madness is the Machine and Improbable that surrounds both, not just the Occurant Nevadas within.
I always assumed that the whole M:PN is canon thing was some multiverse shit that will probably be explored sometime in the future, which you seem to have also cooked up.
The AAHW HAS excuse. He's been confirmed to be one of the oldest nevadeans. Heck, we know mc 1 happens before the fall. We have some proof that hank is gen 01 because of that.
15:15 i want to note something here i don't think this is the auditor talking to sandford because before the stop meddling theres a bit of text that says "empAuditor..." which as a full sentance, makes it seem like someone is demanding the auditor to stop meddling. this would line up with the description of the episode, the posters showing that the auditor is blatantly not in favor with the other employers and the fact that the others are getting involved now as shown by the intro. as for sandford going deeper into Auditor hell, considering the auditor shakes his fist in frustration after it happens, i dont think they did it. i think they were trying to take sandford over in nevada but someone else stopped them, leading to the auditor tracking sandford down in Auditor Hell.
@@Zepumpkineater i probably would have though so too if it werent for the ellipsis, the episode description stating the auditors losing control and the auditors annoyed reaction to Sandford sinking into the ground.
I took this as the Auditor telling doc to stop trying to revive hank and Sanford which makes more sense as later in the episode Auditor says doc must be erased
The shaking fist idea could also just be The Auditor being aggrevated at Sanford, and expressing that by shaking his fist as he sends him away. I like all these hypotheses though!
I like the weird croaking noises the masked characters tend to make, like when the Retainer was getting sawed to pieces you could hear them gurgling for a bit in the background as Hank fought in the other room.
Personally believe that the “compensation” was replacing the parts of his soul that had rotten away with those rocks that are essentially embedded in him now
@@BadBame962i think it’s cause he quite literally died and resurrected, so his payment is getting earth powers and super strength, and getting sanford out of there
I asked Krinkels once during a drawing stream about Sanford and Deimos relationship. He told me “I wouldn’t exactly say they’re best friends, that’d just be silly. But they are indispensable work partners” From that I gleaned that the two just really prefer working together.
23:50 my personal theory towards this parallel is that, due to the fact Hank is missing, the machine is trying to latch onto anything to take his place, and is trying to force hanks purpose/ideals/instincts onto sanford, which would explain the shift in combat, it was violent but necessary at first but after this scene turned much more gorey and overkill (probably because he either started to take enjoyment in it, or it’s out of pure frustration, maybe a mix of both). I could also perhaps see this is as an implication that this is how Hank even got this way, his desperation for survival turning into bloodlust and tunnel vision. Though considering Hank has always been kind of ambivalent towards his life (only really saving himself out of instinct rather than really wanting to go on), I’m willing to bet on the former. 28:23 I also think it’s pretty fascinating how different Hanks status is from the other two, he neither gets his current look like Deimos does, nor does he even get a description like the other two do. His icon also looks note ably distressed and in pain, the fact he’s gripping his face and a red light emerges from behind his mask makes me think it might have something to do with his jaw? Idk if it got deconfirmed by this point but I remember there being a theory that the third improbability drive was inside of it, and considering this would mean that it’s only functioning one left i feel like there could be a connection. Not sure though, either way somethings up with him. Amazing analysis btw!
Last I was aware, we've seen all 3 drives - one of them is on ground level in a building that Tricky ran through with a train, one of them was in Tricky's head before being destroyed, and one of them was on a higher floor in a building the Auditor was using as a base before he accidentally blew it up with a rocket launcher. It's entirely possible that the first and third ones I mentioned are one and the same, but they look pretty different and I'm not sure when they could be moved since the .5 episodes establish that the Auditor was using the third one since at least partway through episode 6, if not earlier.
i honestly think in regards to Sanford being unkillable it's just literally him straight-up REFUSING to die no matter what; like he is the one person with the literal leviathan size resolve to straight-up live no. matter. what
My bets on what happened to sanford's body in Nevada: The Auditor was attempting to hijack Sanford via his physical form, but was interrupted by Doc sending the body to the location Deimos arrives as in order to keep it secure Being why Sanford briefly first feels the effects of the Auditor, and why he begins to manifest within AudiHell to deal with Sanford directly
There's so much that you pointed out that I never even paid attention to like Sanford shooting at the lightning bolt at 20:50 instead of at the auditor himself to sever the connection between the Auditor and Auditor Hell. Appreciate the lore breakdown! Gave me a lot to think about besides just the excellent mindless violence I've come to know and love. ❤
Something that I noticed only on the Newgrounds version is when Sanford holds the ATP mask at 5:55, (just before it's owner gets thrown to the bullies to be... pulled) the faint, glitchy text of LOCKED IN appears, and lasts until Sanford throws away the mask.
Something I've been thinking about all throughout the video, multiple times you've brought up Hank being split between Nevada and The Other Place, but something that I could've sworn happened in 9.5 was that there were 2 Hanks at the end of it and only ONE of them got taken to become MAG Hank, meaning the other one still has to be in that area, which could relate to that colliding anchors sequencs?
No you’re correct, only one of the Hanks could be returned, but I’m pretty sure Those From Beyond would be sure to set up some kind of Plan B to ensure Auditor couldn’t gain total control. They do love Hank after all.
This is my first time seeing someone mentioning MPN. I love it. Also, I wanted to say becoming dissonant is a plot point in MPN. Dissonant energy is like slag, a byproduct of processing S-3LF. One interpretation of Hank becoming dissonant, is that hanks S-3lf is being processed or tampered with, as we see he's charter has been taken and his goal modified to "fix Nevada" This might be something that is being engraved into his soul (S-3lf), and because his S-3lf is being tampered with it creates dissonant energy as a byproduct. Also don't forget accumulation of dissonant energy is what corrupts people in madness combat. In MPN we see in Dr. Hofnarr's note that he realises that dissonant energy is accumulating on him. This later makes him lose his marble and become Tricky. Also, side points a lot of dissonant energy and very strong insolvent or strong S-3lf creates ghost-like beings, as seen in the arena level The Haunting of Nevada House.
Fun fact about the mini grunt heads mentioned in 9:30 The hive actually spawns those same guys. If I’m remembering correctly they are fresh S3LFs, small beings that were digested by the Hive. These bullies may have grown around these tiny S3LFs. How they got there or why they are there, idk.
@@IkI600 S3lfs are basically the sold of Nevadeans, that’s basically what they are. The hive is a pretty cool boss from project nexus, they were a being meant to eat S3lfs, at least that’s what I think.
@@BuriedSoil5675You're thinking of Gestalt, Gestalt was meant to eat S-3LFs, and get stronger the more he fed. The hive is a self-replicating mag, that spawns little hiveslugs.
@@AdmiralChimp well I said I didn’t know However after some deep diving (aka trusting a friend of mine) The hive was kind of early gesalt, a recycling program, meant to eat selves and eject them out, however well…as you can see he wasn’t the grade a model people hoped he would be.
Loved it, on first viewing I understood some of it, mostly things to do with Doc, I thought maybe Hank being dissonant meant that his S3LF may be slowly fading but I had forgotten that, that isn't how it works. I had not realized the charter stuff could be Auditor putting Hank under his control, for some reason I had thought maybe his right to live was revoked by Auditor? Not sure, but your interpretation of it sounds much clearer than what I had thought. Felt like it really helped me understand it better! Also cautiously hyped to see if Hank is turned against the others by Auditor. :) I really enjoyed this episode too, and I am tempted to say one of my most favorites in recent memories but the competition is really stacked. Need time to think about that.
15:12 I'm not very experienced with MC lore, so take this with a grain of salt. But i think it makes more sanese if this scene was the first one chronologically, with Sanford being send to ultra hell, and then the auditor goes out looking for him. There is no reason for Sanford's soul to leave his body since he hasn't died once, also, he was still moving so his soul was probably still on his body. Also, tge transition between 11:32 and 16:10 are clearly back to back, uninterrupted. He wasn't pushed into a lower level, he was just thrown off a ledge the a Bully. Then, Sanford gets anchored, at which point his body would apprear at the place Deimos later founds his to revive him. 26:16 I personally interpreted that as a literal machine. The machine that Deimos shoved him in and turned him into a MAG. It makes sense given that he, too, didn't for at the end of madness 11. But I also like his interpretation, it's very cool with how the entire world is against Hank dying.
I would think The Machine is what's being referenced with Hank, Krinkels is too smart to have "Revived By Machine" and have a god like character named "The Machine" only to confuse it with a regular computer
In project nexus, dissonance seems to make character crazy violent and shaking - Tricky being the most dissonant character of all. So I wonder, if Hank is going to totally lose it in 13 and become an antagonist. (spoiler) That would resemble the nexus ending. Also sanford is definitely in the same place as MC11, you can see the white barrier in the background at the beginning.
16:37 Interesting interpretation, but when i first saw that symbol I immediately thought of the Halo Like a Halo from the top-down view with all of its cracks, hence why it says "unkillable" cause it grants you godlike powers as long as you possess it
Something i havent seen mentioned is how sanford and deimos act when there in the various hells...its not panicked or random. I mean sanford espescially. Its trained. SQ and doc have trained them for this exsct eventuality
@Zepumpkineater plus there's the fact sanford and deimos understand and know what the botton and imprint thing is and what it does. Since sanford relaxes...a little when he's got the part on his person. Likely being trained "if you end up in purgatory/hell/wherever find one of these! It will let us pinpoint your S3lf's location and be able to retrieve it to your body for extraction which you have gone over but still
I’m so glad you actually are doing this because I literally have no fucking clue what’s going on in madness like literally ever. Any chance you plan on covering the other episodes?
I believe charter is something Auditor giving hank guaranteed power and existence, for the purpose of killing tricky and getting auditor his halo back. When that happened, he stopped supporting hank and sanford if that makes sense
Hey zep! Nice video, gonna add somethings that maybe you misinterpreted or could just be my perspective The first most important one is that "the charter has been revoked" is something that has been said by the employers before, at the end of the game they clarify the purpose of project nexus has been fulfilled so the charter that was given to Phobos by the employers is revoked. This leads me to believe that originally a charter was given to Hank by the employers and now auditor is revoking it. Second one is the "stop meddling" has an "..auditor.." at the top, meaning this comment could potentially be coming from doc to auditor since he's just revoked hanks charter and is trying to possess Sanford. Then third, at the end of dedmos we see that there's two bodies, one is likely the physical body of Deimos that died and the other is the self that comes from hell being all rocky. This is something we also kinda see in 9.5 as the antipathy self is inserted into the mc7 dead Hank body instead of the mc7 self that's left behind (which btw the posters in mc12 feature Rockmos, current Sanford and interesting enough the damaged version of mc7 Hank we see at the end of 9.5) I bring this up because Sanford is resurrected in the same manner Deimos was, but instead of his self body coming out we see that his actual physical body starts to move again, this could be a thing from being resurrected without dying or something, but also in the first auditor scene we see that Sanford's body gets pulled under and that could be just doc relocating his physical body to undergo the resurrection process, maybe that's how he did it with Deimos too. Fourth and least important, but COMPENSATED in regards to Deimos could be how to compensate the partial dissolution he is part rock now Hope any of this helps and makes sense, I guess it's mostly my interpretation but I felt it was worth mentioning
13:00 if hanks s3lf was separated it could be the other Hank that he left behind in the other place (or the Hank that left) and the separation is what’s causing dissonants to accumulate or another crackpot maybe Hank is becoming a director like being or just a gateway to (insert dimension of your choice) maybe due to his contact with the beam in 11
Something I realized is that this episode's track has a leimotif of the classic project nexus menu theme, could this represent the clash between the game and the main series lore-wise?
Oh god please do more theory and speculation video it's so satisfying watching somebody rant (totally not because I watch some certain channel with green trophy profile) also do explaining video of certain aspect of the franchise for newer fans
judging from past episodes, we will most likely get a .5 episode or some minor canon episode (like Dissident or Experiment) before Madness 13. Whatever it is, as long as it's canon, i'm all for it. But yes MC13 will most likely be released in about 4 years, which is fine. You do not rush art (same goes for any other MC episode).
@@MrFlints i just checked the curiousCat page and ur right. He says MC13 will be the conclusion. but i remember Krinkels said MC11 will be the last episode, way way back before even making MPN: Classic. So just maybe he breaks the promise again about the next ep. being the last. Either way it's up to him...
13:00 when i saw the "Hank Dissonant" my brain immediately thought Hank is turning into an S3LF since they're required to keep the Other Place from merging with Nevada and vice versa
-Sanford finally got his dearg scar and his HOOK GF called "Bianca" -Deimos keep drops his phone and SMOKES -Hank is now GRUNT SLEEPING -Auditor is TRIPPIN -Doc is still HORNI(oh hank)
I couldve sworn there was a place called regular hell which is where jeb and sheriffs s3lfs went after they died. What happened with that did it just dissolve from irrelevancy
Bro you have to make another video explaining more, I legit 100% MC poject nexus in steam and I didn't get half the lore. I've been a huge fan of the series over the years, and finally being able to understand what I missed on previous episodes is amazing
Wondering if theres a full analysis video for all of the current episodes for madness combat because ive rewatched the series so many times now without knowing anything whats going on lol so a video like this was pretty enjoyable and nice to know
This was amazing. I am a fan of the series since i was a child and i enjoyed the fights and the animation a lot. But I've always had a difficult time to understand the story because it is (as we know it) a little bit complex. Your video did a great job helping understanding the new episode. Is there any chance you will do more of these kind of explanation videos on the older episodes? Thank you very much!
21:32 reading the texts on screen i think that the fact that sanfird becomes more insane and violent after that is because of the auditor's influence on him
10:40 This could be why they're able to take so much punishment and keep going - their brain doesn't take up much of their head, so it doesn't receive as much damage as their larger head makes it look like it should.
I thought that by "Stop meddling" he referred to Doc's interference with Sanford. He then tried to take control of him but his body was relocated, again, due to Doc, to the location that Deimos is driving towards, which is why he shakes his fist in anger. This is why he descends into Auditor Hell himself to take him directly, like you said
i like to think that those are the bodies that were recently absorbed by the auditor but that's the only explanation i can come up with, considering that barely makes sense regardless
Krinkels said in the 20th anniversary stream that those are raw s3lf energy and that's all we know about them. I saw a theory that those 2 particular s3lfs were Jebus and the Sheriff but MPN probably debunks that since Sheriff would have to die again off screen for it to be true.
The larger ones are called half mags I think. Aahw agents that went magnification but either something happened during it or was ended early. We see them in madness project nexus too (steam release)
Figured I'd drop my interpretation of the auditor's list at the end "Ressurected of the machine" and "of nevada" are probably referencing hank and deimos's sort of fusions they got from being revived I think the fleshy tentacles and spining mechanism we saw in 9.5 and dedmos are the machine, at the end of 9.5 the machine tries to take one of the hanks away but doc brings him back in time, taking that tentacle with him, thus being resurrected with the machine with a new arm Dedmos got upgraded with funky stone powers, the same stone most of nevada is made out of "Ressurectes of luck" i feel is hinting at what Sanford's ressurection gave him, as he is about to have his "deathless ressurection evaluated"
Would "the machine" be the higher powers, a.k.a a stand-in for Krinkels breaking the fourth wall and bringing Hank back to life in the early episodes before the Doc was introduced? I always found it funny how he would just explode and then the next episode he'd have a bandage or two around his body Or maybe the Doc was there all along, reviving him from the shadows, who knows
When we see Auditor looking over Hank and Sanford, while you interpret the text as coming from Auditor, I think it's actually someone else. you can see Aud approach Hank to try and convert him, but he gets denied via error by someone and is informed his charter has been revoked, to fix Nevada after damage Aud has inflicted. He then approaches and does the same to Sanford, and this time, text says "Auditor.... STOP MEDDLING." I think the text means Aud himself is being addressed, and it might be Stygian coming over to the Nevada reality to kick Auditor for being out of line and ruining Nevada, which is why he's panicking in his own dimension and insisting it's not his fault.
When the Auditor is trying to take control of Sanford it makes sense why he can try to do that, if he's in the Auditor's Other World/Hell dimension. The Auditor has already been shown as having control inside the realm, even when control was being contested with Tricky. The Auditor could manipulate the world to alter the environment or separate Hank and Sanford. He could create those swords, which he used to encourage Sanford to move in specific directions and to impale Hank, which also uses in this episode while chasing Sanford. When he tries to take control of Sanford I think he was partially causing him to glitch, which explains why Sanford's mouth vanished, although not to the world breaking extent that Scrapeface glitched out in that one short.
Im going to put this video in a nutshell Funny idaho man: gets crippled and resurrected Crispy lungs: breaks his ipad Average Florida man (hank): takes a well earned nap
The words "Crush, Kill, Destroy" are most likely a reference to the character Urien in Street Fighter 3 Third Strike, as his voiceclips only contain these 3 legible words, it was just something you knew from the gaming zeitgeist like "I've covered wars you know" in the early to mid 00's
In my interpretation the scene at 13:59 implies that Hank's purpose was changed and since he is getting disassociated that will lead to him fixing Nevada on his own. While the message of "Do not waiver" seems to be directed towards The Auditor since he quickly stops giving Hank attention after the fact.
10:00 about the "bullies" My theory is pointed towards the end of Madness combat Project Nexus's last level, where you go through the museum. It shows the process of how normal grunts are turned into mags or half mags were their skeletal structure is changed and they're given a new casing of flesh and skin. Also after killing Gestalt you can see the steel structure of his skeleton and under that is a fleshy skull with similar properties of the first dead bully in MC12. Then again mags can be magnified with a machine as well like in madness 9.
"Charter" could also be referring to a method of travel. I think it makes sense to believe that the Auditor isn't letting Hank go to the Other Place, or anywhere else for that matter, besides his body, since the halo seems to do more for him than it ever did for Jeb. And he knows if he lets Hank go back to the Other Place again, he'll just come back YET AGAIN since he just can't stay dead. And for whatever purpose the Auditor has, Hank will most definitely get in the way, so this is how he's going to ensure he STAYS out of his way.
12:29 - One of the descriptions the word dissonant has is "Unsuitable or unusual in combination; clashing." Now this could help out in what that means for Hank. (now I do need to catch up on madness lore so bear with me here as the word could mean something different to what i'm saying) Now based off that definition it could mean that Hank himself could be in two separate pieces one being the body the other being himself aka his mind or whatever you believe it is, and as a result it's possible his mind and body are starting to become unsuitable for each other. Or that something is clashing with hank's body or mind, like the auditor or perhaps something in the other place for all we know. (just some personal speculation from the definition of the word)
From what I know from the Project Nexus games, Dissonance is sort of a power or force from or made "The Other Place." So maybe Hank becoming Dissonant is him being destroyed/merging with "The Other Place."
10:00 the mini-grunt inside that 'bully' sort-of looks like the mini-grunts in M;Pn, spawned by the hive boss? there's probably no connection I'm just throwing it out there
I don't know if this is intentional but at 25:46 (7:12 in the original video) when the Auditor returns to the Occurant his motions and him glitching out is similar to Hank at the beginning of 9.5
21:50 Doc makes reference to a "recovery protocol" in the tablet and that this will be very different and is probably bring anticipated. This confirms that the new purpose of Hank and the crew is restoring normalcy and fix Neveda. Still... Thirteen is an unlucky number, so next episode might not turn out so well, even if they are trying to do thing right now. Maybe one of the other Employers show up and replaces the Auditor? Who knows. And, can we talk about how Sandford is such a badass he still hasn't died yet despiteb of all he has gone through?? Even the auditor himself is surprised at 27:03. He was literally ready to fight the auditor himself mano a mano at 25:30 if you look closely. Bro literally said "Screw power levels, I'm killing you right now if that's what I need to do to get out of here." And, when the Auditor is weakened to the point where he failed to take over Sanford at 18:40 and 20:28... I wouldn't have been surprised if he had won. Like, the man fought against the AAHW, fought powered-up Tricky and survived Expurgation, was sent to hell by himself and killed his way out while the Auditor hunted him down, was revived and STILL hasn't died. The man was resurrected without dying as pointed out at 28:45. Ain't that something? He might be the most skilled of the bunch, at least when it comes to surviving and I have no doubt he's gonna get a promotion back at HQ or something. Dude's not just a grunt like when we first saw him. He's a survivor. Last last thing. 27:48 Doc warns the Auditor is moving ans he needs to return immediately on the last massage he sends. This definitely means that immediately after this, Sanford and Deimos are going to have to save Doc from the Auditor. Or maybe they won't be in time, and we are going to have a short animation like DISSENTER of Doc trying to fight of the Auditor, and failing. Who knows.
Well we do see the massive amounts of spikes near Sanford's body at the end which means that the Auditor was _right there_ in the Other Place and Deimos barely rescued Sanford in the nick of time. Considering how long it took for the Auditor to fully transfer himself from Nevada to the Other Place in the animation (note how he appears as a vague energy outline at first, then a blurry image, before finally appearing in the full near the end), it's likely the Auditor will take a while to return the other way.
@@SenyiKimmo True, on the other side, he is ANGERY now, and that's an endless source of power in the incredible world of Madness Combat. (Also, maybe now he is a little less dazed from being inside Tricky since some time has passed now. It would also explain why Doc was tweaking out so much.)
I think it's pretty simple, when Rockmos was driving up to where Sanf will be we get a wide view of some landscape that has nothing on it rite? Well, isn't that shot oddly familiar? It's where the Nexus tower will be with the whole city around it. By the looks of it Hank was overwritten by the Auditor and Auditor was trying to do the same to Sanf before (i assume) Doc yoinked Sanf away. Occurant times sound like different timelines and in the animation it was said that they are merging or something like that. So Reality(Or realities) are getting messed with once again. Maybe that's what happens when normality gets fucked so hard that the only way to fix it is to move the timeline onto a good one. Hank also seems to have a disonant % increasing, i assume it's something that the team wll try to stop from reaching 100%. In general i feel like now that the Auditor overwrote Hank he might be under his control for now.
Something I barely see madness combat fans mention is the fact that the reason for hanks error is cause there are technically two hanks now, there’s the one that had looked more like his mc5 look that got revived in mc10 and died in mc11, while there’s another one in his usual look in the “other place” still, unless I’m mistaken
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure at 16:04 when Sanford's body get's pushed into the ground this is actually Doc moving his body to the destination Deimos is driving to throughout the whole episode, his body is being pulled to the extraction point hence why Sanford's body is in a completely different place by the end of the episode.
how come auditor would help with that lol, he literally either wants the guy under his control or dead
@@lacaritafeliz3570 simple
The auditor didn't.
after sandford's whole deal with being dragged under the auditor notably shakes their fist in frustration and alongside that, the power they use in that scene is the same power they use in this episode and previous ones to control people.
the auditor is likely trying to control sandford as doc (or someone else) intervenes.

This M:PN shit getting serious, I didn't play allat bruh
Krinkels said on stream that Phobos had to "Manufacture" insolvency, so being a G01 does not make you resistant.
@@СемёнЮгов-в7юwasn’t there a generations chart that shows G01’s don’t die the same way the other generations do?
@@Jackjaiden-zf5elIt's a Plot Hole but at Least let's not Make it Complicated like Swain Always does.
Krinkels has stated time and time again that M:PN is canon, but I've always wondered exactly **how** that was the case, considering it completely messes with the timeline in a few ways:
- First, the Story Mode takes place between MC4 and MC5, but the AAHW predominantly using Agents, Engineers and most importantly, Soldats, who we know only appear from 7.5 onwards, and we also see that Hank reacts to them with surprise and amusement at their singular eye in 9.5, implying it's his first encounter with them.
Which means we have the following events lining up:
- Hank's Charter being revoked, before being granted a new Charter -- Project Nexus's Charter being revoked, before a new one is bestowed upon Christoff.
I'm starting to think that one of the enmeshments are finally about to line up with what Auditor's doing.
what about when deimos and sanford killed hank? was that canon?
I think Hank was just making fun of the guy who had one eye in 9.5
The AAHW HAS excuse. He's been confirmed to be one of the oldest nevadeans. Heck, we know mc 1 happens before the fall. We have some proof that hank is gen 01 because of that.
15:15 i want to note something here
i don't think this is the auditor talking to sandford because before the stop meddling theres a bit of text that says "empAuditor..."
which as a full sentance, makes it seem like someone is demanding the auditor to stop meddling.
this would line up with the description of the episode, the posters showing that the auditor is blatantly not in favor with the other employers and the fact that the others are getting involved now as shown by the intro.
as for sandford going deeper into Auditor hell, considering the auditor shakes his fist in frustration after it happens, i dont think they did it. i think they were trying to take sandford over in nevada but someone else stopped them, leading to the auditor tracking sandford down in Auditor Hell.
Definitely a solid analysis, I just sort of interpreted it more as a text box of sorts, with emp.auditor being used to indicate who is speaking.
@@Zepumpkineater i probably would have though so too if it werent for the ellipsis, the episode description stating the auditors losing control and the auditors annoyed reaction to Sandford sinking into the ground.
I took this as the Auditor telling doc to stop trying to revive hank
and Sanford which makes more sense as later in the episode Auditor says doc must be erased
The shaking fist idea could also just be The Auditor being aggrevated at Sanford, and expressing that by shaking his fist as he sends him away. I like all these hypotheses though!
im sure emp.auditor means "employer.auditor" and is just there to show that its the auditor saying that
Idk if anyone else noticed this but at 27:35 Deimos accidentally takes a SCREENSHOT when he is fumbling with the phone, he also cracks the screen
My new favorite kill in Madness Combat as a whole is in the second room where Sanford throws the engineer into the void, and he lets out a yell.
I like the weird croaking noises the masked characters tend to make, like when the Retainer was getting sawed to pieces you could hear them gurgling for a bit in the background as Hank fought in the other room.
28:35 I think bro just cares about Sanford so much that getting him back *was* compensation.

But they are indispensable work partners”
From that I gleaned that the two just really prefer working together.
@@ElSandwich777 “Have him pop out of a portal and be all like ‘oh I’m back hey’ then him and Sanford make out for a little while.” - Krinkels
It's entirely possible that the first and third ones I mentioned are one and the same, but they look pretty different and I'm not sure when they could be moved since the .5 episodes establish that the Auditor was using the third one since at least partway through episode 6, if not earlier.
i honestly think in regards to Sanford being unkillable it's just literally him straight-up REFUSING to die no matter what; like he is the one person with the literal leviathan size resolve to straight-up live no. matter. what

Great video, I was really confused with this despite playing Project Nexus but this really explained things and made it easier to understand
Fun fact about the mini grunt heads mentioned in 9:30
The hive actually spawns those same guys. If I’m remembering correctly they are fresh S3LFs, small beings that were digested by the Hive. These bullies may have grown around these tiny S3LFs. How they got there or why they are there, idk.

Kirby's plot armour isn't that bs right
15:12 I'm not very experienced with MC lore, so take this with a grain of salt.
I would think The Machine is what's being referenced with Hank, Krinkels is too smart to have "Revived By Machine" and have a god like character named "The Machine" only to confuse it with a regular computer
not gonna lie i think id listen to a video essay style thing from you just covering the entirety of the madness combat plot/lore
In project nexus, dissonance seems to make character crazy violent and shaking - Tricky being the most dissonant character of all. So I wonder, if Hank is going to totally lose it in 13 and become an antagonist. (spoiler) That would resemble the nexus ending. Nice one, Zep
reality demanding bloodshed never sounded this cool
I believe charter is something Auditor giving hank guaranteed power and existence, for the purpose of killing tricky and getting auditor his halo back. When that happened, he stopped supporting hank and sanford if that makes sense
Hey zep! Nice video, gonna add somethings that maybe you misinterpreted or could just be my perspective
The first most important one is that "the charter has been revoked" is something that has been said by the employers before, at the end of the game they clarify the purpose of project nexus has been fulfilled so the charter that was given to Phobos by the employers is revoked.
This is something we also kinda see in 9.5 as the antipathy self is inserted into the mc7 dead Hank body instead of the mc7 self that's left behind (which btw the posters in mc12 feature Rockmos, current Sanford and interesting enough the damaged version of mc7 Hank we see at the end of 9.5)
I bring this up because Sanford is resurrected in the same manner Deimos was, but instead of his self body coming out we see that his actual physical body starts to move again, this could be a thing from being resurrected without dying or something, but also in the first auditor scene we see that Sanford's body gets pulled under and that could be just doc relocating his physical body to undergo the resurrection process, maybe that's how he did it with Deimos too.
Fourth and least important, but COMPENSATED in regards to Deimos could be how to compensate the partial dissolution he is part rock now
Hope any of this helps and makes sense, I guess it's mostly my interpretation but I felt it was worth mentioning
about auditor taking control over sanford - he did this not only to hank before, but for some engineers and giant too
When Sanford first falls at the beginning of this animation, you can see the MC11 rift thing in the background

I thought that by "Stop meddling" he referred to Doc's interference with Sanford. Krinkels said in the 20th anniversary stream that those are raw s3lf energy and that's all we know about them.

"Ressurected of the machine" and "of nevada" are probably referencing hank and deimos's sort of fusions they got from being revived
I think the fleshy tentacles and spining mechanism we saw in 9.5 and dedmos are the machine, at the end of 9.5 the machine tries to take one of the hanks away but doc brings him back in time, taking that tentacle with him, thus being resurrected with the machine with a new arm
Dedmos got upgraded with funky stone powers, the same stone most of nevada is made out of
"Ressurectes of luck" i feel is hinting at what Sanford's ressurection gave him, as he is about to have his "deathless ressurection evaluated"

there’s SO MUCH LORE (my brain is exploding)
another detail: in 21:42 the tree charm is the same tree as in madness combat 1
When we see Auditor looking over Hank and Sanford, while you interpret the text as coming from Auditor, I think it's actually someone else.
you can see Aud approach Hank to try and convert him, but he gets denied via error by someone and is informed his charter has been revoked, to fix Nevada after damage Aud has inflicted.
He then approaches and does the same to Sanford, and this time, text says "Auditor.... STOP MEDDLING."
I think the text means Aud himself is being addressed, and it might be Stygian coming over to the Nevada reality to kick Auditor for being out of line and ruining Nevada, which is why he's panicking in his own dimension and insisting it's not his fault.
“Hank’s Charter has been revoked”
I still think this means he’s just been banned from Hell.
Hanks original charter: Do what you do best.
he won't die because he's krinkels baby boy.
finally, Deimos was able to enjoy his smoke
Im going to put this video in a nutshell
Funny idaho man: gets crippled and resurrected
Crispy lungs: breaks his ipad
Average Florida man (hank): takes a well earned nap
I also noticed small grunt inside large one but what if it's just their brain?
Judging by the intro and the posters around the episode it seems like someone or something is not happy with what the Auditor is doing
Most likely the other employers as well as The Machine
(now I do need to catch up on madness lore so bear with me here as the word could mean something different to what i'm saying)
Now based off that definition it could mean that Hank himself could be in two separate pieces one being the body the other being himself aka his mind or whatever you believe it is, and as a result it's possible his mind and body are starting to become unsuitable for each other.
Or that something is clashing with hank's body or mind, like the auditor or perhaps something in the other place for all we know. (just some personal speculation from the definition of the word)
16 seconds in we got an 8 minutes explanation...
NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
The thing that surprised me the most are Deimos escaping purgatory
he made a 30 minute video on a 8 minute video. that s kinda impressive ngl
19:50 now THAT is relatable
From what I know from the Project Nexus games, Dissonance is sort of a power or force from or made "The Other Place." So maybe Hank becoming Dissonant is him being destroyed/merging with "The Other Place."
10:00 the mini-grunt inside that 'bully' sort-of looks like the mini-grunts in M;Pn, spawned by the hive boss? there's probably no connection I'm just throwing it out there
THE LOOOOOOOORE!!!
30:44 if its cool to ask for clarification, where was the idea of the auditor not supposing to exist in Nevada ever mentioned in the series?
I don't know if this is intentional but at 25:46 (7:12 in the original video) when the Auditor returns to the Occurant his motions and him glitching out is similar to Hank at the beginning of 9.5
At the beginning of the video MPN could be an alternative nevada where one of two of those unknown diemensions happen in.
So I was wrong, they take place at the same timeline and you have to connect the pieces.
The loss graffiti is critical to solving the lore
Something I barely see madness combat fans mention is the fact that the reason for hanks error is cause there are technically two hanks now, there’s the one that had looked more like his mc5 look that got revived in mc10 and died in mc11, while there’s another one in his usual look in the “other place” still, unless I’m mistaken
