SPOILERS BELOW There's so, SO much to love about this. I really enjoy the storytelling, but most of all I enjoyed the subtle things. The posters advertising a rave that we end up seeing the entrance to in the background of the final shots is a minor example that I enjoy, but a more notable one in my eyes was the foreshadowing seen with Deimos where he lit his cigarette with his thumb. Details like that go a long way. I also really love the art itself and all the detail crammed into each and every shot. The hand drawn ASCII for the background of one of the first shots was really fun to see. The colors are also fantastic. Finally, I honestly just fell in love with the world shown off in this video. The rich, rainy atmosphere of the city paints a whole new picture of the Madness Combat world, a side we rarely see: the civilians. From those few shots, a whole new world is established that excites my mind and churns my imagination. Brilliant, phenomenal work, through and through. 10/10

If I remember my canon Madness lore correctly: Sanford and Deimos were recruited by doc to befriend and help Hank. If I'm correct, both in what I remember on the canon and what I'm getting from on this video: I actually like the idea that Deimos was a agent who snapped, and Sanford being a grunt, that by the looks of things either was going to be turned to a Soldat and said no way or was given a order he was not going follow through with for whatever reason it may be, and thus meant to be killed for his incorporation. I like this because this would explain why Doc would choose these two, they both are probably willing to say "Yeah, we'll help you take those bastards down! They don't stand a chance at this rate." having both a grudge and also because the agency would have wanted them dead anyway, so it helps insure survival while getting a little pay back. Plus they have the advantage of knowing how they think. This to me also gives a better perspective of the combat skill of the agency, we've seen these guys fight, and the reason they win is because A. they fight with more cohesion B. they already know their tricks, they were trained by them C. they're surviving long enough to out class them. It helps make Hank look tougher than his enemies just being dumber as the series went on.

being recognized for my rain world stuff is such a jumpscare but a very good analysis of what happened in the animation! i love it! sanford quit because he values his dignity (something that doesnt exist in the AAHW because they want to strip you away of your identity until youre nothing but a working slave). deimos didnt quite know what to do with his life afterwards either, killing the agents was fun but he knew that he was going to be pursued by the AAHW. until sanford sat next to him and they meet eachother, retelling their stories of the AAHW terrible working conditions (and how abusive the workspace is to the point they mindlessly kill eachother just because), they get fed up by the organization and dedicated to team up! i enjoyed the line "his individuality could not be removed and he chooses to fight for love", such a good quote!

This is also why the group could revive Hank into a half-mag form, but not Deimos - Deimos is the only one who knows how to use AAHW machinery since he used to work there.
