watching lebron's game over the course of his career, he has never changed or noticeably improved any part of his game (sporadic 3pt shooting aside, since that does not take any coaching at all, just practice). if he took "hard" coaching, his game would look different, and he would have improved on his weaknesses (ball handling, off-ball movement, defense, the way he bulldozes to the basket, turnovers, dominating the ball too much, late game decision making, body language with his teammates, ref complaining, loser mentality, work ethic, etc). he's a weak-minded, insecure prima donna that happened to be blessed with insane physical gifts. then he tattooed "chosen one" and "king" on himself, and proclaimed himself "the greatest of all time". and it's only a matter of time before the truth comes out for real about his PED usage.

JJ Reddick becoming a head coach off drawing up some basic assed pick amd roll plays on a whiteboard with Lebron doesn't mean he can coach.
Can he lead men? Can he motivate an entire locker room? What's his defensive philosophy? He's never coached EVER... and Chris is "Sure" he's a good coach.
If the Raptors and Hornets didn't hire him, even as an assistant, the Lakers would be stupid to hire him. Period.

A lot of people can sound or look like a Coach when drawing plays in a studio or podcasts. It’s like a former player playing GM in league vs being ACTUAL GM! That’s not even taking into account both Phil and Pat took over great teams (and ran others offense)- I.e Tex Winter in Phil’s case.

Another issue too is mentioning the age of JJ. Who fuckin' cares? Joe Mazzula is younger than some of HIS OWN PLAYERS, and yet he just made it to the ECF for the 2nd year in a row as a head coach. Granted, he has an amazing team, but so did Steve Kerr, so the facts are the facts. I don't see anyone complaining about any of these other NBA head coaches out here failing! Look at Monty Williams. He went from losing in the finals, to getting DESTROYED in the 2nd round by Luka, to tying the record for WORST RECORD EVER in an NBA season with the Pistons (despite being the highest paid coach in NBA history), and nobody bats an eye lolol

It’s not like the nba is full of great coaches. There’s no Phil Jackson or Pat Riley out there. I think JJ can be just as good as these other guys. The podcast actually helps JJ get respect from the younger players.

The statement that JJ can’t be a head coach cause he played in the recently makes absolutely no sense when Steve Nash got a coaching job a couple years removed from playing and that wasn’t the narrative around him when he got the job in Brooklyn

JJ could be good in the future, but why doesn t he start as an assistant coach first? And take it step by step and progress. Like Spoelstra or Phil Jackson, and many more. I don t know how he is considered to be suitable or qualified for head coach, without having any experience at all.

the optics on any Lebron team has always been that “Lebron is the coach, gm, owner.. “ so the optics wouldn’t change at all. And ham did know his x and o’s but everything else he had no clue about. JJ would be an upgrade.

I hate it when a person is suggested when steps are skipped. There are coaches who went through the process for years, scouting, recruiting, G-League, assisting and so on. There is a process and typically you cant skip steps. Steve Kerr is an anomaly.

I know it happens sometime, but I need to be proven it will work before I get on board. The chances are small.

What coaching experience did Steve Kerr have before taking coaching job at GSW. What about Steve Nash. Can go either way. Lakers are not good enough either way. Maybe with another round of FAs...but Reddick should be a good head coach.

It amazes me how a multi billion dollar company (NBA franchise) will hire a guy for a top management position with no experience whatsoever and an average everyday man working a 9-5, blue collar job will never get promoted, nevermind walking into the company off the street, without a degree or experience.

that is why i think lebron will not be able to be effective in the 80's or 90's because one of the reason was coaching. the coaches back then were tough and will not fold for lebron. look at pat riley and lebron ,lebron wanted spoulstra to be fired but pat riley didnt do that. lebron is a diva that needed the spotlight everytime.

If they pick Redick, the Lakers are basically making Lebron the player-coach. Redick will be the assistant coach for all intents and purposes. And I'm not saying that's wrong. It may be the wisest thing to do at this stage.

So basically the Lakers are about to make a series of bad choices and draw a line in the locker room between LeBron’s faves and non-faves.
    1. Signing Bronny
    2. Hiring Redick
