  • We ordered a new iMac and had it mailed to us. The stores stock basic iMacs that come with 512GB storage and 8GB unified memory-we wanted to upgrade the storage to 1 Terabyte storage and 24 GB unified memory. We also wanted the keyboard with the numeric keypad-our personal preference. The costs of those add ons put the price at $2329.00. A base price for an iMac is $1299 or $1499 depending on which GPU Core you want. We also picked the blue color iMac which is a darker blue back with a metallic blue base, cords, and even the keyboard too!! Here is the link for the computer we spec'd out. You can configure it the way you need. The costs to upgrade the memory was $400 for 24GB or $200 for 16GB. The upgrade 1 Terabyte upgrade is $200 and you can get a 2TB storage $600. You can purchase a trackpad is $50 and the upgrade for the larger numeric keyboard is $30. #imac #apple #2023imac #M3 www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/im...

It wasn’t bad at all. Safari even linked up all our bookmarks which was a time saver. Just getting used to the Magic Mouse and any other small differences will take time.

I ordered the same spec/model, 15min after the "Scary Fast" event had finished, $3,658🇦🇺 (with Numeric Keyboard, Trackpad, and Mouse. Inc. Student discount ~10%).
Hasn't skipped a beat, awesome machine, and it looks absolutely stunning. Would love to see Apple releases a "Pro" (M3 Max/Ultra) 27'/32'.
EDIT: The M series of Mac's (Including M3 iMac) CAN NOT be upgraded in any way (by the average user!), the configuration you order from Apple, or buy at the store, is the configuration you will be stuck with for the life of the machine, so choose wisely, and if you can afford it, spec it out, you won't be disappointed.
(It is not impossible to upgrade, but to do so requires a high level of skill, and knowledge, proprietary tools, and a fat bank account!)

I wish there was a 27” screen also. My son told me these were sealed like the phones unlike my 2015 iMac. We upgraded it later but I would rather get it done now like we did. There are some small differences on set up I have to look up how to do but I will say the search option is much better in the new Mac to find things. Appreciate your insight and thanks for watching!!

@@broncomustangponypower I’m sure you will find everything is also heaps quicker/snappier, when opening apps/tabs, etc.
I was blown away by the response of the M1 iMac, in relation to everything else I had used up to that point.
(In all honesty, the M series Mac’s, and the integration with everything else in the “ecosystem”, iPhone, Watch, HomePod, has turned me into a bit of an Apple fanboy, I’m ashamed to say. But they do make some good tech, can’t wait to try out the Vision Pro, when it’s available in Australia.)

@@Schrodingerscomment I do appreciate the integration of all the Apple products!! This is my 3rd Mac. My second is still working and be used and my first one died after many years. I still use my iPod which functions great. Apple does a nice job with their electronics!
