- This is the Classic PBS Documentary about the Golden Age of legendary Cleveland. It includes interviews with local TV personalities as well as eyewitness accounts from people who remember fondly the memories of their childhoods and youth, and the magic of shopping in those wonderful Cleveland area stores. Going downtown to shop was something to look forward to, and something to remember.
Enjoy a trip down Memory Lane with this one-of-a-kind program, gathered from stock footage, with many personal accounts from lifelong Cleveland area residents. Long Ago,I Loved Cleveland in the Late 50s early 60s..Those were MY years. I remember Downtown during the Holidays, it was Magical. Thank you for this video.
I TOTALLY remember the Silver Grill at Higbees! The cardboard stove was sooo cool. And it was just me and my Mom. I love you Mom! 💕🌷💗💕🌷💗💕🌷💗💕🌷💗💕🌷💗

oh what a wonderful time to grow up. Mr. Jingaling's wife worked at my school I went to and her name was Mrs. Keys.
I remember my mother ordering a taxi and we were going to Terminal Tower like 50th floor or something to The Chessie System Railroad offices were Dad worked. It was awesome!
i STILL REMEMBER SEEING mR jINGALING AT hALLEY'S WHEN i WAS 1 OR 2 IN THE MID-50'S. wE CAME UP THE ESCALATOR & TO THE RIGHT WAS THIS WINTER WONDERLAND WITH HIM SITTING ON HIS " THRONE"...
My soon-to-be wife worked at Halle's seventh floor toy department, right next to Mr. Jingaling winter of 1959.
I watched Mr Jingaling I still know the song . Mr Jingaling how you ringaling with your magic keys . Halles 7th floor will be looking for you to turn the key .

Hudson's in Detroit had a really cool window display in 1981, there were 4 Sony front projection TVs and a Lamborghini Countach in front of the TVs.
My gram ran 'See Cleveland Tours in the 70's. She worked with the mayor's office to take new investors to Cleveland flats renovation. I miss how my hometown stuck together. RIP Helen T. Conant. You made a difference
