This took me back to my childhood. I too, used to read just about everywhere, car rides, dinner table, even toilet.. But these days I read less and less, and yes that is because of screens.. Thank you Luke for reminding us, you are such an incredible young man. Hopefully my kids will love reading just as much
i wish my children in the futre would love reading books.
Please read a book on cleanliness and when you have read it, apply it. Thanks!
and here you are, watching RUclips videos, instead of reading a good book...

Hello sir/ma'am/etc.,
I just wanna tell you that screens aren't as bad as you think cause I've developed a robot with the help of RUclips cause I learnt Arduino through it.
Reading is Boring
What an absolutely remarkable and inspiring boy! At just 9 years old, he's showcasing wisdom and passion beyond his years. Luke's perspective on the power and importance of reading is truly enlightening. It's incredible to see such a young mind advocating for the value of books in today's society.
Luke eloquently expresses how great readers become great writers, communicators, and persuaders, ultimately contributing to the creation of good societies. His enthusiasm for reading shines through as he shares his personal adventures through various books, from classics like 'Winnetou' to beloved series like 'Harry Potter' and 'The Unwanteds'.
I love how Luke describes reading as "love in action," highlighting the endless positives it brings to his life, from impressive vocabulary to the joy of getting lost in a good story. His creative anecdotes about hiding behind flower pots and reading everywhere are both hilarious and endearing.
It's refreshing to hear Luke's call to the young generation to hold on to the art of reading amidst the distractions of modern technology. He reminds us that books can take us on adventures, introduce us to new worlds and people, and ultimately enrich our lives in countless ways.
Kudos to Luke Bakic for delivering such an impactful talk! He is certainly a bright, intelligent, and passionate advocate for the magic of reading. Here's to hoping his message inspires many others, young and old, to pick up a book and embark on their own incredible adventures.

As a reading instructor in an elementary school, I wholeheartedly agree! Reading develops the brain in so many ways. Keep it up!
I want him to teach me how to be confident like that.

don't forget the very well-used hand gestures- it's really a skill on its own
He is also the proof of his message. Well done, child.
The problem today is most people always think that, you only need a good job to get rich... These millionaires are operating on a whole other playbook that many don't know exists...
Money invested is far better than money saved, when you invest it gives you an opportunity to increase your financial worth .
The wisest thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on government paycheck. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world , this is still a time to invest in Stocks, Forex and Digital currencies....
I keep seeing how lots of people testify about how they make money from stocks, Forex and crypto currencies (BTC) and i wonder why i keep losing.. Can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do 🙏.
Even with the right technique and assets some investors would still make more than others.. As an investor, you should've known by now nothing beats experience and that's final. Personally i had to reach out to a stock specialist for guidance which is how i was able to grow my losing account back to $35k , withdraw my profile right before the corrections and now I'm buying again..
I must say trading under the guidance of an expert is the best strategy for a beginners
This young man is wise beyond his years! A message everyone should hear and adhere too!👏
What an incredible speech! This means a lot to my children, and I will definitely share this video with my kids. Perhaps, this will be able to motivate and encourage them to read books instead of spending so much time on screens only playing games or utilizing social media. Thank you so much. You're such an awesome young man. I really appreciate it. Good work! Keep it up!
The knowledge and his confidence is amazing!
Luke, you make the world a better place. Keep teaching all of us what's important & what things are wasting our time. I love reading a real book, holding it in my hands and anticipating the surprise that appears as I turn the page. I've never felt alone because I always have a good book to read.
He's wiser than most adults. Good on you Luke.
I dont give a damn, I play 6 hours a day on the weekends
that is correct
SuLtxN lol same reading is gonna become obsolete and i dont even care
@@killerbean3122 I like reading comic books but in weekends I am like you
Books can take you back in time, improve your vocabulary, and make you see things in a totally different way in just one hour.
Yes right l suggested that one time you see my first video of book and tell me my mistake
And books can also improve your imagination in ways no other media can
@@joaogabrielrodriguesgomesn5264 yeah I agree with your opinon
No pause, no stuttering, no doubt, that's just simply amazing..
Everyone realizing they are watching this on a screen....
Love this little man!
And yes reading is amazing!

My comment are
- Everything he said is true because it's happening right now and that's the reality
- It is so true that without reading we would not have good societies
- This greatly motivates me that when it comes to being a good reader we can make a writer which, a good writer will make good communication and good communication will make good speakers and good speakers will make very good persuaders
- maybe Many children today may prefer gadgeds, intagrams, and social media over books but we have to continue to direct children that books can change themselves even the world if they are determined
Thanks for your video it so motivating for millenials
just saying, borneo is the translation of kalimantan :)
your opinion is very good and meaningful I agree with your opinion

This young lad comes across as a CEO of a big tech firm. 👏
i agree your ideas, learn books is so important to us, the books help turn us more inteligent
Reading a book is like downloading a personal coach, a sage, or a confidant to your brain. You get to absorb the trials, triumphs, and insights of characters and authors who have already traversed the ups and downs of life. So when you face your own challenges, you'll have those downloaded stories and wisdom at your disposal, making your path a little easier to navigate.
Great , inspiration giving speech!!
Know how long school is for many infants? 6 hours. Due to the lockdown, many children are stuck at home with a screen. He has a point, I’m just saying most of that screen-time can possibly be school, especially if they have classes like computing.
This was made in 2018, so the data he used was before online school
No
He's the best speaker I've ever come across... Maturity reflects from his talking 😘😘😘
Erik Clark ikr thats just weird
Erik Clark ikr people are just scared reading will become obsolete
Wow!! This is thought provoking
His speech is a solid representation of what he is saying :)))
in my opinion very motivating and very beneficial for many people
Very impressed on this young man. I agree with this video, the youth this generation involves with all this social media and video games. Students lack the knowledge of reading skills because of today’s technology. I’m not saying technology is bad because it can help but in an educational way as well. Picking up a book that can have an interest of choice can really make a difference on how reading can also be fun.
Amazing kid! He will go places.
Because of school we watch that so much, my head is banging in the floor. Some apps and games are important for us. Many peoples dont stay 6 hours like he said. Yes it's makes our vacabulary so good. Thank you berry🍓 much!. Thie video was recommended by my class teacher. Bye
6 and half hours a day looking at screens, those are rookie numbers, bump that up to about 13-14 then come back to me.
Exactly (even tho I love reading)
Inspirational and justified speech ever
In this TED talk, Luke Bakic talks about the importance of reading. Over the past years, he had read many books, and they all took him on such an adventure. He loved reading in places like his bed, on the move while walking, in the toilet, in queues, in vehicles, and, more importantly, at home. He hid behind various corners of his house so nobody could find him and make him do anything else. According to him, nothing is better in the universe when you have an excellent book to keep you company. Reading is love in action. He usually never had to study for spelling tests, which made his vocabulary so good that it quickly impressed any grown-up. He assumes that while modern technology wonders have their place, the young generation has to hold on to reading; it's the key to our kingdom. While Luke Bakic's love for reading is impressive, his ideas have some potential disadvantages. Firstly, excessive reading in unconventional places, like while walking or in queues, can pose safety risks. Additionally, hiding from reading instead of participating in other activities may lead to ignoring responsibilities or missing out on meaningful experiences. Finally, while reading is powerful, it's essential to realize that different individuals have different learning styles, and other forms of engagement and exploration are also beneficial. So it's just about finding the right balance.
