I FINALLY CAN SLEEP WITHOUT THE FEAR OF MY WIIU'S DEATH. My Kids will play Nintendo Land with me in right way, even in 10-years thanks to this. Thanks!
so long as you're find with tethered, you can use an hdmi cable. Also, with wireless, I'm pretty sure moonlight is a good option, but given I'm not exactly used to moonlight, I can't say for sure
This is cool. My soft modded Wii U is a better choice for using on a monitor. I'm interested in the Steam Deck as a portable Wii U with screen swapping via one of the back buttons.
If you have a usb-c hub with a hdmi input, you can plug it in and in settings just set up your steam deck as your 2nd monitor. In CEMU go to "options" and lick on separate GamePad view, this should create another screen, drag it into your steam deck screen and the main screen into the monitor screen. Play a game and when you are given an option to play on a wii u gamepad, the 2nd screen (steam deck) should have all the menus of the wii U gamepad while the main monitor displays the game. Its not ideal because it requires a lot of manual work before starting each game, but it worked for me.
@@Jack-gp1ng yeah I think so. I think you're better off mapping TAB I believe, to one of the back buttons on your steam deck or any button you're not using on a controller, I think thats the button that switches your main screen to the gamepad screen, so you can just switch between the two using only 1 screen with a button
@@TarikA How do I tell you.... Eeeh.... Sorry but... Well, let's just say you're a little late. You see, I wanted to emulate the wii u because I couldn't wait until I was done saving money and to be sure whether to buy it, but... I already have the money since april of this year and I already bought it along with some controllers.... Still, thanks for helping! I'm sure someone will find it usefull.
im trying to figure out how to play on the steamdeck as a pro controller. because both twilight princess and wind waker hd tell me to connect a pro controller. but if im playing mobile then parts of the ui and item select system will not be available to me in gamepad mode. how do i trick the game into thinking the steam deck itself is a pro controller?
Is there any way to do this on the same system? i.e. hook up the steam deck to an external monitor, run the game on the monitor while using the deck screen as the gamepad
I can load cemu in desktop mode and load my game but the steam game pad buttons don’t work in desktop mode and my right thumb stick controls the mouse pointer. How do I use game pad controls in desktop mode in cemu?
I could do this the other way around where I use a tablet or even the Steam Deck as a monitor just like the Wii U does, but then it'd be hard to get the controller part working that way hmm... Another way is Steam Remote Play, but then it shares the screen rather than getting the gamepad screen. I wonder if there's a better way to do this natively with the Steam Deck. Doesn't it support outputting video over USB-C to HDMI?
Can you tell me your controller settings? I'm trying to play Splatoon through EmulationStation and can only get the gyro to move left or right, I can't get it to aim upwards. How do you do that?
On your pc, go to steam and add a non-steam game to ur library, but make it explorer.exe (file explorer) so whenever you connect to your computer, you can go to whatever game you want, then use steam link on the deck
The biggest question, can you use another controller and have the Steam Deck be used the same way the Gamepad was used for games like the Zelda Remasters? Because they were like your menu shortcut.
I got a question what to use my phone as a Wii u gamepad for the actual system I want to play Wii u games but I can't because I don't have a Wii u gamepad and they're really expensive and I don't have the money and I was wondering cuz I want mod my system
I am unable to get cemu to work properly on my steam deck, is it possible that I can actually stream it from my pc to my steam deck, rather than the other way around?
Its useful for games like Wind Waker HD where you dont have to keep reopening your map with a button and can just glance down to see where you are in the Great Sea.

@@StrandedClonelmao yeah. Love that
That fear is why I have three Wii U's in storage lol
I thought of this like 3 months and now that I’ve searched it up I feel fulfilled. Thank you.

Moonlight is limited. It only captures the primary monitor.

I have a video up on that as well :)

So would this only work in desktop mode and not game mode?

I don't even have a stream deck but great video.
Thank you! :)
I dont think he has a stream deck either. Now the steam deck on the other hand...
I'm wondering if there's a way to do this with an actual wii u instead of an emulator
Technically maybe with "DRC Simulator".
You can use moonlight as well and works well and thanks for sharing.
Hm, I wonder if you could do the reverse, play the game on a PC and stream the gamepad screen to a steam deck, with hopefully functional touch screen
i want the same thing
@@ianmoises Technically maybe with "DRC Simulator". But it lacks touchscreen support as of now.

change the input settings and set the emulated controller to your choice

Yes, that has been done. Apparently it‘s pretty easy according to r/SteamDeck
Buy a PD compatible usbc hub with hdmi or dvi input. Plug it in. Easy
@@michaelnnes is there a better video of it?
Wait, how is what you’ve described any different to what he’s done in the video? I’m confused.
Is there an updated method for this?

You could actually do this on a real Wii U console with DRC-Sim

This is fuxing great!!!
Yess do 3DS also!!
Would this work with a wired setup where I use a USB-C extension cable to connect to the dock?
that is so awesome
Could this hypothetically be done if you kept a hdmi to usb c plugged into your steam deck as you played
Is that a skin you put on your Steam Deck or did you change the entire case?
It’s a dbrand skin :)
@@Techcravers cool, thanks for answering! Got my Odin pro last week and got to order a deck yesterday lol

Not that bad actually. Definitely playable!

does real wii remotes still work with this method?
what if i want the emulator to run on the pc?
How do u play it on desktop mode
Can you do this with a jail broken switch?
Unfortunately not.
Can it be done on Android?

Bro just use emudeck
How do i get motion control on cemu, on desktop mode?
Nvm
Is there any way to connect the gamepad to cemu?
No. It uses a proprietary protocol which is not reverse-engineered yet.
The question is why? Focusing on both screen is the worse part of Wii U.
