If you run DLC Timmera can hit funny numbers with Hector. I know you’ve mentioned you consider Hector emblem to be just a worse Ike, but for Timmera he really does give a lot that synergizes, plus I feel Ike is a fairly contested ring so it opens up using him on others. Hector Grants passive Def and Atk, while engaged gives a 30% increase to both defense and res, which can directly increase sandstorm damage. His Armads grants +5 more defense like with Urvan with +1 might and -1 weight plus just having the option of using lance or axe helps avoid being broken. Provides build, but even if a weapon is still too heavy for Timmera it can give up to an extra +5 damage per hit and most of the time won’t prevent her from doubling due to high speed. Adaptability isn’t much but +3 defense or res for free isn’t bad, break immunity from engage skill, etc. the only thing that gets wasted fairly often is quick riposte but even then it can help against particularly fast enemies on some cases. I don’t know if it’s better than Ike ring on her, but it’s at least fun
Yep, Hector is really good on her, you can have a pike and doing +5 dmg on heavy attack while doubling thanks to riposte. Also, Tikki is surprisingly good on her. I wanted to have spd/dex +5 and lance power so I put Tikki on her to benefit from starsphere until the begining of the endgame. She deleted maps alone with the wait/heal skill, also when she is a dragon has +5 to all stats and that’s crazy amounts of dex and def. Sandstorm triggers on dragon form too. It turns out she is really good on a lot of emblems!
I'm a recent Ike!Timerra believer. On my no warpskip maddening run on Ch 25 she held down all those flyer reinforcements on the right side with 2 elixers and Brionac. And this was without lance power. She doesnt have the speed to double fliers but between Sandstorm and Wrath crits she was popping off. I was planning to rescue her out after a turn or two but she just solo'd them all until reinforcements stopped.
Hilariously, Goldmary is one of the few characters I run with speedtaker, and prioritize having her finish off enemies to proc speedtaker. I think Goldmary is a better um "tank" since she doesnt require Ike to be tanky to survive things. I also think Goldmary is terrible on the map she joins. I dont know why the game loves to do this -making units be bad on their join map.
I think a really good question to ask everyone in the chat is what do you prioritize when it comes to pairing your favorite characters to emblems. I’ve heard some people prioritize class type, fashion wise, stat increase, added skills etc etc for example this video, I would put Ike on Rafal because it compliments everything even more than timera or gold Mary, stat increase is very beneficial and also use of axes for ult, dragon stone with Camilla engraving makes rafal hit like a truck!
Have to admit, I’m still a pretty big fan of Marth!Timerra in the endgame and giving Ike to someone else, though I do realise it’s not exactly the most optimal build

Timerra is amazing. She's the first unit i wanted to S rank because i love her. For my first run (hard) i mainly used her with Leif, since he fixes Build and Arms Shield plus Adaptable makes her very tanky without having to give up her Avo stat. I'm doing 2 maddening runs currently; funnily enough one is using Timerra and the other is using Goldmary. It'll be interesting to see how they compare. Tbh, up until this run i haven't used Goldmary at all so this is completely new territory for me.
Timerra Hector is actually really good for her. Makes her sandstorm do stupid numbers. But she has to stay in her personal class while thr ladder can be in multiple classes for different tank roles
The description lmao. In my (admittedly limited) experience, Timerra seems to be easier to set up and tends to perform better in dedicated roles such as an Ike tank. Give her Ike, Represallies and maybe some speed and watch the magic happen. Goldmary is fine, but she does need serious speed fixing and I feel like she's more a bit of generalist type of unit, she can take 2-3 hits, but not entire armies of enemies, she can dish out decent damage, but not consitantly one round enemies and so on.
I just finished a run with goldmary!ike general, pair up/canter. Used mostly a forged steel greatlance. Speed didn't matter, huge damage, phys hit pmuch little to 0's, just had to play placement around mages. General being immune to breaking was the true highlight of the build. Great aether dive bombs and choke pointing really gave me a lot to work with considering how much she could hold down on her own.
I prefer giving Panette the Roy ring for Holdout, since I build her for Vantage/Wrath. Even if the enemy scores a crit, she'll survive that round and retaliate with nasty follow up and then annihilate every subsequent attacker with 100% crit chance.

I played this game before the well was a thing so I didn't have the XP for Wrath so I just put Ike on her haha Laguz friend is pretty clutch too since you must take damage with Panette to activate her passive One thing I like about this game is that a lot of rings are viable on many different characters
@@betonamu7514 yeah they're pretty much made to be swapped around amongst your team members so everyone can gain bond levels with them. I mean at the very least they give units bonus stats when equipped so it's kinda hard for anyone to be worse off for wearing an emblem ring.

Wouldn’t Spd/Dex +5 be better than Str/Dex +5? It costs 3600 less SP, and Timerra wants Spd for additional Avoid while wants to be proccing Sandstorm so Str isn’t as necessary.

To be fair though I gave her duel support instead of sword or lance power though with spd+5. Timerra with just +3spd/dex from Chrom was slapping. She has +5 lance power and +5spd/dex and sandstorms a lot. Fun units for sure but Goldmary is a little rough to get going.
Oh I never knew they were being compared. I found timerra very disappointing on my hard mode run but my goldmary died in the Sigurd paralogue on my fixed maddening run so I cannot fully evaluate her. But I really appreciated goldmary's base str and def.
Odd, when I did a hard mode run she was so easy to use I barely needed to think about it , one of my core units when I play on my maddening playthroughs as a tank.

Timmera has the higher high’s but goldmary is more consistent and gets brave assist after 2 levels so that automatically makes her better and I’m totally not saying it because she’s my favourite character.
I think Goldmary is a great addition to any 14 member team because she joins as a level 3 Hero, she’s so close to Brave Assist and that alone is an amazing position to join at Honestly I think she’s more of a support unit, her offensive stats aren’t that good. And her speed isn’t very good either, she just joins with good bases. So you can kinda just leave her in Hero or reclass her to General/Great Knight and let her tank Sandstorm is an amazing skill, getting her to quad with a Brave Lance with Lance Power is probably her best build for offense rather than tanking. Timerra is really fun to use for sure

Like “oh she has the proficiency for Hero, let’s go for that instead of Swordmaster” since you get Diamant and Kagetsu 5 minutes later
I don't think Timerra is but her def stat has diminishing returns when you put Ike on her. A warrior with higher str who can wield a tomahawk/axe power is going to be killing stuff straight up without the need for a gimick skill or crits. Warrior also has more hp which makes up for the lack of defense. To me Timerra is mid tier, high mid tho because she has one of the best spd/def/res combos in the game.
The warrior would need high SPD if it wants to 1 round fast/durable enemies, 1 shotting archers/mages is achieved via 2xing them on Javelin+5/Lance power.
Timmera with hector and a brave lance is just insane ,u just put her in enemies and game over,watch the beatuy of sandstorm while for GM stayin in Hero does just fine,2x backup attcacks fuiyoh!!
ok but goldmary has massive knockers... ok but seriously goldmary could run axe power with ike to too mosterous damage with those great aethers while takeing advantage of it with the heroes axe something timmera can't do on picket. alot more consistenct then praying for greataeather sandstorm
I'm not sold on Timerra, I still think she's the worst unit in the game. As you showed in this video, she couldn't double the random unit even with spd+5, and couldn't one shot either, even with lance power 5 and a sandstorm proc. That's extremely bad by this point, even for an enemy phase build. And her start is atrocious. The 4 levels before she gets Sandstorm, she does single digit damage and is basically useless. She becomes decent with high investment because this game gives you a lot of tools but she's worse than any other unit with the same level of favoritism. Ok probably not Bunet but he has better bases Imagine if you gave lance power 5 and speed +5 to Amber or Kagetsu, heck even to Lapis or Alfred. They would absolutely break the game in half, not gamble for sandstorm to do 75%
Amber is very slow and SPD+5 won't let him double that 33 SPD hero unit on CH21. Kagetsu would be 29-33 SPD by this point with SPD+5, maybe 36? Timerra can power level while ike tanking Lyn Paralogue easily and get online in a single paralogue. The only units that can 1 round that enemy in the opening are probably crit builds or things that somehow have 38+ SPD by chapter 21 on base game no DLC which seems kind of hard to achieve.
2 seconds in, Timerra is better for game play, Goldmary has much more impressive personalities.

Ike on Panette is pretty insane on Wyvern. It helps her tank very well and Wrath stacks so well on her passive

Fixing speed is Goldmary's biggest need. She has almost no other issue.
Timerra + Marth = God tier she cannot be hit attacks 6x/ Goldmary + Rivals = Extremely reliable unit

It is implied you run it on any hard carry at this point, the Goldmary I was using also had Axepower 5 :)

Leif is an alternative if you keep him lvl 4/9 so adapt swaps between forged killer axe/bow is another build
