Me watching title: 😀
Me at lvl 31 seeing the "half way" is actually 37%: 😐
Doesn’t make any sense, does it?
@@isaacholland6587 boi. It makes sense with the explanation of the video, and un already lvl 40
@@Filip-nw5mv from a mathematical standpoint it shouldn’t make sense… it does but it shouldnt
@@isaacholland6587 levels get harder and harder to lvl up when you get past 30, and more harder after 50, and after 100, it stays the same for the whole time until 1000 and beyond, it's really simple and has logic
@@isaacholland6587 I mean it does make sense, ''level 50'' is just a name that happens to include a number, each number has a different value so the numbers just serve as names that our brains are used to and therefore like.
For anyone wondering. From level 0 to level 100 if you were to win 50% of your games and lose 50% of your games. It would take you about 360 games. It would also take you 90 hours playing only hourglass. Roughly estimating that it takes 15 minutes to end a match and go into another one. (10 minutes playing the match and 5 minutes to get into another one). 5 minutes to get into another one since to farm games its better to go in with the basic supplies the game gives you. Resupplying from the barrels after a win and finding a match would also be roughly 5 minutes on average.
From level 0 to level 1000 it would be about 3.600 games and 900 hours.
All of the above don't account for Community Weekends.
it took me about 900 hours and my win/loss ratio was about 4 wins for every loss (sometimes even 8-10 wins per loss). what sucks about hourglass though is if people run away the whole fight, you either scuttle and lose streak or wait an hour for them to get bored. they need a way to guarantee hourglass matches don't last longer than 10 minutes.
@@gildeddeath687 Yeah. My first time playing hourglass I thought the circle would close all the way in if some time had passed so it could resolve a stalemate by simply forcing the red sea effect on you wherever you were. The middle point being the last place to be affected by this. Since I was unlucky enough to have a runner in my first game, I had to slowly realize that my plan of staying in the middle of the given area wasn't going to work...
It just felt so natural to expect that the circle would get smaller and smaller, but nope.
Matches going quickly would tremendously help queue times for hourglass and the closing of the circle would force you to interact with your opponent or be punished by the red sea effect.
Having matches be forced to end in 10 or even 15 minutes would help alot.
Cool, just 1799 more games to go till 100!
Huh? I got 119 wins and im at level 124?
I presume he means he plans to lose that many games…
Loss farming is extremely mind numbing, source: I tried. It is better to actually find crew on lfg in any SoT discord and grind during double xp events...
If you sail around with treasure grade 5 you get 1 level per win, 2 levels at win streak 5. You can get treasure grade 5 by harpooning 1 piece of loot over and over. You get a fight 20 minutes after you sink them which is enough time to restock and prepare for the next fight. You can sit at and defend a seafort making use of the cannons. I go up about 15 to 20 levels a day doing this. I did dive for my first 500 levels and defending has been so much faster leveling wise i wish i played defense sooner.
Two levels per win even in the higher levels?
@@a__youtube__user yeah I'm level 777 but I dive to a seafort, complete it, harpoon 1 loot to treasure grade 5, they invade, sail into cannons, and sink in about 1 minute I get 1 full level... then I leave the game to skip the 20 minute cooldown, dive to another seafort, it takes about 7 minutes. and repeat. So I'm gaining 1 level about every 15 minutes on an active day
@@dudelove5551 so you dont go for streaks, you just do the seafort and get one level, then repeat that.
@@a__youtube__user depends. Sometimes I'll do stuff around the house and come back when the 20 minute cooldown is over because waiting for invades has no afk check. But leaving and diving to another seafort is the fastest if you just want fast levels.
harpoon 1 piece of loot how? just harpoon it and then pick it up, drop it outside the ship, harpoon it again, repeat??
i have a little info on faction stash numbers
after a decent bit of testing over community weekend i believe it works like an emissary for hourglass, multiplying the rep you earn per victory the same way an emissary flag does, 2.5x at grade 5
turning in with a faction stash is a flat bonus depending on the grade, about a quarter of a level at grade 5- this number seems to be calculated before any other multipliers like community weekend, so turning in a streak with a faction stash gives a much larger bonus than usual
sinking with a faction stash does not give you any more rep
i'm not sure if anybody else has also gathered these numbers or even bothered to, but if this is new information then i hope it helps
For anyone wondering, the most efficient way is to turn in win streak of 5, and doing so will take 170 wins to reach level 100
It depends on your winrate. If you have a very high winrate you might want to go for more.
Why not 4? Isn’t that the best
@@SheLovesMedrastatistically it’s not, but a lot of people sell after hitting 4s
I got to lvl 100 with 120 wins and no xp boosts :/
@@CaptainCrunchOfTheSeaOfThieveshow?
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS FOR A LONG TIME, thank you.
From what I see between these numbers I notice that lossfarming is valid.
I will be out there lossfarming to make sure I still gain rep without risk of losing streak. Watching a series on the other screen or maybe listen to an audiobook.
Time to start the grind💪🏼 87 lv to go
Good luck on your journey!
Did you get there yet
Nice information bro, thanks
Thank you for the interesting information
Think they need to lower them exp numbers, silly how much grind it is.
as someone with the gold skeleton curse, yes 100% agreed, they need to half the amount of xp needed for each gold skin. it took about 900-1000 hours to get my gold skele and i was exclusively grinding hourglass for 5-6 months
@@gildeddeath687 I have no idea how you did it. Bravo as HG is just the worst mode in Sea. I was a master at the OG arena which was enjoyable unlike HG.
@@samyill thanks lol, sadly my skill isnt anywhere is good as it was, so now when i sink people just trash talk me for having gold lol
Good vid. How did you get the exact data for this? I’ve also been tracking data to make a table like this, but was manually tracking the degrees of my level for each way to gain xp to find the percentage of a level gained from each action. If there is a better way then I’d love to know!
A while ago there was a bug in the website which allowed us to see the xp for the trading companies. Some people used that to calculate the hourglass xp values but after a while it got fixed so I don't know if other people managed to get the data for other trading companies before it got fixed.
Problem with HG is you spend more time trying to find a match vs actually fighting other boats. In my experience
Yeah that can sometimes be the case
solo HG is very fast to find a match, but miserable with all the sweatlords and runners
i get insta que almost every match
@@Wxyvs- your lucky then. I get 2+ minutes or I just get sent back to the outpost.
just so you know sigy has turned in multiple 20 streaks in his journey lvl 0-100 video
Yeah I know but I meant nobody has ever ONLY turned in 20 streaks
So if level 50 is actually 37%, how many levels is 50%?
67.5
@@Nniiff Not that bad actually, thanks
Hey, by any chance, could you approximate how much you can get by having grade 5? I mean, how much exp do you gain from the 5th victory and how much will be added to the streak from the 5th victory?
Got 100 across 2 gold and glories 66 wins and about the same losses, selling flag and hourglass everytime
amazing video, keep it up!
Thank you!
Does the requirement also increase after 100? I realy want that obsidian captain jacket
nice vid!
Alright. I’ll start getting the ghost curse, I have the skeleton curse already
i am at lvl 74 rn hopefully can get the curse in the next com weekend
where did you get the information from? I was also looking for information on the xp needed to raise reapers, how much each type of chest increases, how much xp is necessary for 100 levels, etc...
A while ago there was a bug in the website which allowed us to see the xp for the trading companies. Some people used that to calculate the hourglass xp values but after a while it got fixed so I don't know if other people managed to get the data for other trading companies before it got fixed.
very helpful
So do I understand that after lvl 100, every lvl need the same amount of xp to lvl up?
Yeah that is correct
@@DavidSOT ok, I’m lvl 250 in Athena, so I did the 1/4 of the gold Athena curse.😊
@@simeonvandelac4343less then a 1/4 as the first 100 levels are easier then 101+
Took me 2 months of full grinding to get both cures
I dont get hg being this grindy getting gold curses is so mind numbing
Yeah true but it is the only pvp mode we have at the moment
L Rare for locking some of the most lore relevant cosmetics in the game behind a tedious and painful PvP grind.
Do this on community day for good EXP
Is the exp per level same for other companies?
No sadly not. How the exp works for other companies is mostly unknown at the moment
I’m just focusing on getting at least 1 lvl a day and turn in every 2 streak. I’m currently lvl 52
That is a good strategy. Do note that leveling up will become harder over time and if you have a good winrate you could increase the streak you turn in.
@@DavidSOT yeah I know. I just don’t wanna get burned out by hourglass. But getting 4 wins a day later shouldn’t be an issue
Waarom zet je de namen van grote Sea of Thieves youtubers in je beschrijving?
is this info assuming you have a grade 5 emissary up or no?
untrue as massive sponge has turned in a 169 win streak hourglass
Yeah I didn't really used the right sentence in the video. I meant nobody has ever turned in ONLY 20 streaks
Also if I sink while on a streak would I still get exp or would I lose all progress
if you win a game the exp is instantly added to your progress, but you have to lower your hourglass to get streak exp ,so if you sink before lowering, you will lose streak exp only.
ik hoor hier een Nederlands accentje
Outta curiosity if I kill some people with flags in just normal and then put hour glass up then sell flags would I get the exp?
Yes if you raise HG first
What percent is level 60 this would just be 47 right??
Does a emmesary flag influence the exp earned?
No, but you can level your Athena and I think Guild reputation by raising their emissary flag
Is there any information how many exp is needed to get lvl 200 from lvl 100? Or how many loses are needed? Really want to get sunken bones for my skeleton
You need another 1,26 million exp because after level 100 you need 12600 exp per level
@@DavidSOT thanks for the information! I appreciate it.
@@DavidSOTalso I wanted to ask how many wins it is and how many loses. Thanks in advance
@@grielfi1221 Its the same as 0 to 100. 1.800 loses and for wins, it depends, because of emissaries, streaks, etc. Say about 180-200 wins. If you were to win 50% of the time and lose 50% of the time, then its about 360 games you have to play. That doesn't include Community Weekends. If it takes you on average 10 minutes to finish a match and say 5 minutes to get into another one. Then it would take you about 90 hours to reach 0-100. 90 hours to reach 100-200. 90 hours to reach 200-300. 90 hours to reach 300-400. 90 hours to reach 400-500. 90 hours to reach 500-600. 90 hours to reach 600-700. 90 hours to reach 700-800. 90 hours to reach 800-900. 90 hours to reach 900-1000. Whilst winning 50% of the time and losing 50% of the time.
Considering all of the above, it would take you about 90 hours to reach 200 from 100, about 360 games. (90 hours ingame, playing only hourglass of course.)
And if someone wanted the golden variations. From 0 to 1000 it would be about 900 hours and 3.600 games, 50% of the time winning and 50% of the time losing.
That is 4 games per hour (About 10 minutes to finish the game and about 5 minutes to get back into one).
I am not accounting for resupplying since if you want to farm games, you should go in with the basic supplies the game gives you. If you lose, you have to arrive at your ship and have to sail to open seas, dive and find a game. If you are solo most of the time its under a minute to find a game. So I say it would be about 5 minutes to get into a game.
If you win and have to take the enemies supplies to have enough for the next battle and then having to dive and wait to find a game, I say its also about 5 minutes. (Positioning your ship to harpoon the barrels, waiting for barrels to spawn and surface, grabbing the supplies with a storage crate or doing it manually, and then diving again).
I am sorry if my reply is hard to read, my first language isn't english. I am aware that I could have compacted everything better and that it might take multiple times to read and understand what I am writing. I had to reread multiple segments of my text to understand what I was saying. 😭

Why would it?
you can sell the flags as athena too
How is Level 50 only 37%
Because the higher you go, the more exp. you need to reach the next level. From that perspective, the guy says its 37% till your destination to level 100.
Rare is so dumb with this aswell.
92 is only half of 99
