Yesterday was my first time playing in almost 2 years and i found a nice skeleton curse user who helped me and my friend out with a order of souls boss fight, they didnt steal a thing which i thought was really cool
I feel ya. I was sailing around wearing skelly curse and found a gally full of noobs. When I tried to be friendly, two of them boarded and tried to attack me. All I did was hold block (cuz they were noobs) and they called me a really bad fighter. All while I was wearing the skelly curse after sinking 150 ships
Ain’t gonna lie it may be nooby but I rock all the ashen dragon stuff because it by far looks the coolest and no amount of experience gonna make me ever change my mind
It’s best to ignore cosmetic sets entirely and focus on behavior. Making premature judgement calls is how you wind up demasted in a broadside. Instead focus on the first few minutes of the engagement. Anchor status, lights, speed of sail adjustment, and ship positioning all speak more than a ship set. Movement, bb use, accuracy, and health management give more away than any hat or curse. A good crews cannon shots will become more accurate as smoke trails provide range information. If the enemies shots go from missing entirely to constantly hitting the ship by the second salvo, play that engagement _very_ conservatively.
Just a quick tip so then you don’t have a solo slooper who isn’t even pirate legend nearly solo your brig (from personal experience i was the solo slooper) Don’t attack them when their doing an ashen winds this is because they’ll def react by moving their boat and then the ashen lord will turn to you and spam their brimstone rock attack every second which inflicts a lot of burning and a very high tier hole and these things WILL SPAM them so whilst your getting a barrage of hellish brimstone rocks burning and sinking ur ship ur dealing with a spawn camping solo slooper stopping u from doing repairs
Trashen dragon :). Sunken Sorrow curse is actually very easy, you don't need to complete shrines. Someone in the crew can just buy they voyage for you.
I don't usually think of the ashen curse meaning a bad player, but if they are rocking ashen dragon and everything else then yeah. I have met mixelplxx 3 times I think and two of them he was wearing ashen curse, there is nothing else to say about him though he can wear anything and still be the goat. Great video
I literally just like dressing cool lol. I have a admiral looking set, a regular pirate set, a dressed down set and a really dressed down set. I do rock the hungering deep tattoos at all times tho
The worst players are usualy the dark advanturer sail, they feel that this sail give them an incredible advandage because they can see 2 pixels more than you, despite the fact that this sail is never gonna make you win alone
I actually joined an open crew with a guy with the ashen curse. He was rude to the crew and acted like he knew everything. He's been playing sea of thieves for apparently 5 years, and yet he has fewer trophies than people I know who have been playing for 2 months
My list is a mix of the legendary set with the Rose set because the purple kinda compliments the red and white so it fits well dress up for pirates is fun!
Either someone duplicated your character a few months back, or our crew ran into you at Reapers. Your character brought us a chest of rage, and we left. We assumed it was the deal since the ship was positioned in a way that it was over lol. I have it recorded on my pc, would love to find out if you recall it or if it was you. I had gamer tags off on hud.
I've got Black Dog and Ferryman clothing sets, hungering scar/tattoo, day one eye patch, launch crew eye of reach, year one pirate legend sails... you absolutely do not need to fear me in PvP. I mostly PvE, and I've taken several long breaks from the game.
Sovereign pirates like myself are the greenest aside from the veteran fishermen 😩🙏 We just like looking fancy and sailing the seas to show off our sexy loot, not to mention- the armor looks brilliant!
I really like the skelly curse. Not bcuz it’s op or something, but because I like the way it looks. Even tho I’m too bad at the game to even dream of gettin it 🤷♂️
As an insider I feel personally attacked. I do none of those bad things. I wear my costume because it shows how much time and dedication of put into this game and that I'm a knowledgeable pirate
I personally enjoy looking like a noob with the shen curse and wild rose cosmetics. Its great for baiting people into thinoing itll be an easy win and lower their guard. Same reason why I sometimes leave my ship with the default appearance so people think Im new and get over confident
I have the hungering deep stuff, but ive been playing barely off and on since then. So you dont always have to worry about people with hungering deep stuff.
The problem is that they are deceiving, a triumphant seadog who can’t sink a skelly ship, a sailor who can give you a beating, a DA sailed server alliancer, a trashin dragon who will stand on the bow-spread and yell you suck, a pl who runs straight into a rock, etc
Oddly enough the Season 8 sails seem to me to be an exception to the rule of "The older the season sails, the better the player". I've seen more good ships than noobs using them
Sailor outfit scares me the most to be honest, either a cheater or a very good player every time. mostly in hourglass they will be good tho because thats where all the sweatys are residing :D i use flower headband, merchant shirt, yellow skirt with white gloves
Personally I use the mysterious stranger hat jacket and boots with the ceremonial admiral shirt sailor eyepatch inky kraken trousers admiral belt naval commander gloves merciless marauder scars and bone crusher tattoos
1:06 fair enough My fav sets are generally easy to get But they do look epic Edit: btw I think it’s ok to bring back cosmetics with exception to stuff like the day 1 patch
"Play for 10 minutes to finish the season pass" Best line and true! lmao! XD Also, I know of a server alliance that cheeses anything in the game but still have the skill level of trying to blunderbuss a meg from a mile away. So I don't really care about others cosmetics until I fight them and see what they are like. The only thing that truly never fails, are kraken, hunter and crab sets, ashen sets and PL stuff. I usually leave those alone or help them, until they attack me that is. All the rest is a roll of the dice really, I have never encountered a good ghost curse user, but have been crapped on by emporium pirates.
I think there’s a few exceptions. I’ve been rocking my pirate emporium costume of Sea of Sand since I bought it and I consider myself pretty good at the game. I’ve been playing before Seasons. I think you can judge based on stereotypes. I do agree with that. But there will always be wildcards that will rock a certain outfit or costume that will not be on par with their skill level.
Called out! i am a year one. have the rum bottle eye of reach, shark bite scars, tattoos, etc. left cause everyone was in arena. came back last month not because it was removed but i missed cruising around. I am happy its gone there was no sense of danger with arena since everyone was there instead of adventure. Honestly though, not great at PVP, but I can out sail just about anyone. Personally I enjoy any and all Sea Dog or Order of Souls cosmetics. the Pirate Legend stuff always looked goofy to me.
You know what is scary? A fisherman sloop with the orca set and Merchant Galeon in alliance. That looked like a overprotective hippo mother with her baby. Bro they deleted us.
Yeah I use the merrick tattoo, scars and the Shark Slayer title and the drums too. Sometimes the blue Meg figurehead combined with the day one eyepatch and goldcurse. And I wear the Black Sea Dog set including the Midnight Blunderbuss and rest of the set. Ah and sometimes the year one stuff (the Sails are so bright :D). Would be interesting where this stuff is on your list :D

Am I doing something wrong (I'm not fucking around all that much, just as much as the normie player) because I am gunning for Pirate legend and I wouldn't consider myself bad at all for my hours.
You need to have emissary flags for each of the faction so when you reach emissary level 5 you can double the rep and gold which is how you level up faster
I got most of the old stuff that you can't get even get anymore from the start of the game but i more likely out sail ya then out fight ya i remember this one time 2 galleons were fighting each other over a fort i saw them took each other out at the same time so i when for the fort and it was just about done so i finished the fort took the key and cut and run because both of the galleons were back and they wanted that key so they started chasing me for 2 hours this was back during launch there was no harpoons or rowboats and stuff so i start changing direction and using anchor drops to do a quick turn around at one point i did a 180 and sail right towards the galleons and sliping right past them getting a big head start they were still chasing but then a random spawn in on my ship and i told him my plan to do a drive by on a island with me and the key then i hide the key on the island then hide myself after a bit they stop chasing him so he pick me up we when to the fort and got all the loot to are selfs what makes one of the best things to me in sea of thieves is the chase

Yesterday was my first time playing in almost 2 years and i found a nice skeleton curse user who helped me and my friend out with a order of souls boss fight, they didnt steal a thing which i thought was really cool
Verdant bones enjoyer here. So little of the community even understands what the skelly curse is, let alone what verdant bones signify 😞
I just like dressing up as my own pirate and roll play. I love the kraken curse because you look like your part of a heavy metal band
I run the Reapers fit cause it’s the only way to represent them being a month into the game lol, only 20 more allegiance for my curse tho
did you get it???
Just a quick tip so then you don’t have a solo slooper who isn’t even pirate legend nearly solo your brig (from personal experience i was the solo slooper)
Don’t attack them when their doing an ashen winds this is because they’ll def react by moving their boat and then the ashen lord will turn to you and spam their brimstone rock attack every second which inflicts a lot of burning and a very high tier hole and these things WILL SPAM them so whilst your getting a barrage of hellish brimstone rocks burning and sinking ur ship ur dealing with a spawn camping solo slooper stopping u from doing repairs
Trashen dragon :).
Sunken Sorrow curse is actually very easy, you don't need to complete shrines. Someone in the crew can just buy they voyage for you.
same with gold curse tbh. you can get the 5 completions for each tall tale by checkpoints from other players.
i still like the design though.
Sovereign pirates like myself are the greenest aside from the veteran fishermen 😩🙏
We just like looking fancy and sailing the seas to show off our sexy loot, not to mention- the armor looks brilliant!
I really like the skelly curse. Not bcuz it’s op or something, but because I like the way it looks. Even tho I’m too bad at the game to even dream of gettin it 🤷♂️
I think u missed the most fearful...
The Merchants...
As someone who uses the sunken sorrows curse I feel called out lol tho now i use blunder a decent amount but used to only use sword sniper
As an insider I feel personally attacked. I do none of those bad things. I wear my costume because it shows how much time and dedication of put into this game and that I'm a knowledgeable pirate
I used to be in an insider, after a break for a while I came back and it said I was no longer in the program.
we need a video about sweaty cosmetics. like da sails for more vision, kraken eye of reach for better screen vision, sailor cannons, etc..
I've seen more good ships than noobs using them
I never feel like I’m that good at pvp, but then I’ll have a few hourglass matches that make me feel like I can take down a galleon by myself
Usually the only time I see reaper pj's is when I'm solo slooping they usually leave you alone if you're in anything bigger
Sailor outfit scares me the most to be honest, either a cheater or a very good player every time. mostly in hourglass they will be good tho because thats where all the sweatys are residing :D i use flower headband, merchant shirt, yellow skirt with white gloves
i'm regularly astonished by the incompetence of pirates dressed in the full pirate legend outfit. it's like they've never shot a cannon before
Personally I use the mysterious stranger hat jacket and boots with the ceremonial admiral shirt sailor eyepatch inky kraken trousers admiral belt naval commander gloves merciless marauder scars and bone crusher tattoos
1:06 fair enough
My fav sets are generally easy to get
But they do look epic
Edit: btw I think it’s ok to bring back cosmetics with exception to stuff like the day 1 patch
same i just rock the jacket with the curse it just looks so good ig im part of the 5% 😅🤣
I use the tuck stuff cuz its practical, and it’s useful when ppl underestimate ur tucking skills cuz of ur clothing
"Play for 10 minutes to finish the season pass" Best line and true! lmao! XD
Also, I know of a server alliance that cheeses anything in the game but still have the skill level of trying to blunderbuss a meg from a mile away.
Calcified is a cool way of describing someone with the bone curse, but for the record ossified is just a cooler and more correct word.
Even tho Im a skelly, if not hg I love to pretend that I want to alliance up, just to easily get close to their ship and keg them. Always fun
I have both skelly and ghost curse. Over level 300 in servants.. That glowing unicorn sail makes me tremble upon surfacing!
if they have the Dark Adventurer Jacket and it fits with their outfit then they are alright at the game and everything else shows they are terrible
@@legendaryoutlaw3534 Shits Himself seeing the NAL and SOC sails.*
@@postaldudesniper6553 haha yeah i would i think but they are so rare never saw a ship with one of those sails but i saw a sloop with the black Reaper sails but this guy was very chilled :)
@@legendaryoutlaw3534 Those kind of people are nice.
as a sunken sorrow pirate, lmao m1 spamming after an eye of reach shot is so accurate
Nah if i see a gold ghost or skeleton im skutteling and server hopping lol
i was so proud of my order of souls curse and my midnight mask... seeing the thumbnail and the title I thought I would get praise... just to hear this... just wait till I come across you scoundrel... I will prove you wrong and will make you taste the salty see
Remember, back in the day when you saw somebody who was wearing the Reapers outfit and had Reaper sails you were like “oh shit these guys are gonna be a tough fight let’s get out of here!”
And now if you see someone with Reapers outfit and sails you go “oh shit, easy win and free loot!”
I just wear stuff that makes me look like a pirate from potc because it makes me feel cool
Me as a casual player, who started about 6 months ago.
I just want to play the game and dress up as i like, i dont care what people think, i just wanna enjoy the game.
right. i love all the bold, absurd over the top, colored outfits cause i personally find them fun!
I am a Pirate-Legend garbed pirate with Ashen Dragon weapons and tools. I picked those things because purple and yellow are my favorite colors and there are no other options, and I'm heavily into all things reptilian. It has nothing to do with what it took to earn them.
A few days ago a was playing the pvp mode and sank a dude who had the golden ghost curse, he was stacking emissary flags and had over 20 of just the reaper lvl 5 emissary flags, thank the lord he was a solo 💀
I run a mix of the ferryman set from the controller… with one, maybe two other peices depending on my mood! And im returning training up a whole new crew! I boycotted Sot while Depps trial was going on cuz i didnt want to give a cent to disney but the point has been made and that whole thing is over
OMG i just got the reapers costume last night lol What he says in this video is pretty much spot on.
7:25 shush we do not sit afk an hour a week, we move once each 10 minutes to not get kicked
Yeeeeeah as a costume runner myself (the season 8 ravenwood set) I can confirm I don't put up much of a fight on the seas by my self, but idc how many times I sink, or ppl complain about "unfair mechanics" (yeah I'm looking at you ashen curse players that complain to me when if I kill them with double gunning)
Both me & my fiancee have fallen in love with this game & have spent the last 4 months raiding, treasure hunting, & having fun making new friends. It's one of the best communities I've been apart of since warframe
Ive met at least three people each with the gold PvP curses, and I can confirm, they do not touch grass.
Nah so many NPCs tho especially the gold curse users on Xbox are extremely bad, not the first time I sunk or tdmed one and they called cheats
@@wiliam291extremely bad? Come get the smoke anytime buddy
@@messy908 idk about u but it doesn't translate to skill the avg lvl 1000 curse isn't nearly as good as let's say lsds in of arena
I don't think they know what grass is anymore
A good day when AShinyRay uploads!
Ok you've said 16 hours to pirate legend and I'm scared now because I have 90 and only rep 50, 35 and 32 ._.
8:48 glad I could be of use in a video again 😂
You little sausage roll, trying to sink me after the win! 🤣
@@AShinyRay haha, any practice I can get with my hand to hand combat because as you can see I’m pretty crap at it
@@JamesGRaptor you were a really good fight, don't be too hard on yourself
@@AShinyRay I don’t actually remember the fight but usually people say my naval is good but the minute they get a good board on me it’s usually game over ggs anyways
i have ghost curse, and the funny thing is, that i did get better at the game, but i always barely have a specific role that i am good at, so i just get thrown at the helm 👍
Seadog jacket and hat mixed with all the other sailor cosmetics is literally the default sot noob skin
i use a simple brown hat, brown jacket, brown boots, and crisp white pants mixed with the legendary curse. nice, simple, clean. :) played for so long i want to look good not glowy
I only fear the golden skellies and ghosts😬. As a blue skelly I have very rarely something to worry about in adventure mode 😅.
hahaha. I love this. I rock the rose outfit for this exact reason. People think i'm fodder xD
I rarely meet beginner outfitted people that aren't complete sweats.
you are talking like being a new to the game is some sort of sickness. Some of us are playing this game for fun, not for sweat.
Whoooooooooossshhhh…..
Yeah, this youtuber is kind of the perfect representation of how toxic the SoT community is. I keep getting recommended his videos even though I dislike every one I watch because he comes off as a huge D-Bag.
Not really, he’s just talking about which players will likely be good at pvp depending on their cosmetics 🤷♂️
@@a__youtube__user idk sounds to me like he is making fun of newbies. Thats all.
@@damiankovanda6858wah wah wah
I absolutely loved this list. The only thing I would have included you didn’t was the funny blue hat and gloves. I’d say that those are both coin flips with the gloves being a bit more prestigious
As a bone head here, I am definitely the outlier. I don’t like to fight but I will if it’s convenient. I usually just like seeing if people have any creative banter in PvP games I do occasionally play
