Our beautiful tongan culture , 36 yrs old and still finding more of our heritage . A little story here . The year 1997 , i remember that night vividly , as Atenisi was visiting our church and during their performance , the huge church chairs i was sitting on , collapsed on my foot , lol what an ordeal ay 😅 i just remember being in pain and trying not to cry . I was a bit traumatised to be honest . The experience of it and hospital. So have a real connection with atenisi 😅 rip to the fallen 1z. I wish i could see them today . Embrace your culture

And we Samoans ended it your empire, long story short but Tui Tonga empire wasn't as powerful as Tui Manu'a empire because without Tui Manu'a, yous Tongans wouldn't have a kingdom, so pls learn your history toko, your royals are Samoans, both Tui Tonga and Tui Kanokupolu come from Samoa, yous think Malietoa was our first king lol no Malietoa was just one of the clans of Samoa that defeated Tui Tonga when he tried and take over the Upolu islands the home of brave warriors, just so yous didn't know Samoa is a divided kingdom that's why we have a "Matai system"(Ancient Samoan system) in place for the many chiefs and clans, did yous Tongans know that there was a king of Vava'u and Ha'apai known as Tui Vava'u and Tui Ha'apai, these two kings had Samoan blood pumping right through them just like both the Tui Tonga and Tui Kanokupolu, Tui Kanokupolu royal family of Tonga are known as Tui Kanokupolu meaning HEART AND FLESH OF UPOLU an island in Samoa where honorable TUI Atua Tui A'ana Tui A'ana, that's why yous adopted Samoan dances like Taualuga and Maulu'ulu including the Ailao(War dance) that's also why your capital is called Alofa not nuku ofa because the royal way of speaking in Tonga is Samoan Mao'i.

@@jonlom8001 Learn your history you laho both Tui Tonga and Tui Kanokupolu are descended from Samoa, all your royals know who're the real kings of the South Pacific are, yous always think yous are better then us Hamos lol Tui Manu'a empire ruled all of Tonga while Tui Tonga only ruled some parts of Savai'i but when Tui Tonga entered Upolu islands that's when he lost his power in the south Pacific, just so you didn't know, Samoa is a divided kingdom, that's why we have a "Matai system"(Ancient Samoan system) in place for the "Tama a aiga" Kings of Samoa, there are many clans and kingdoms in Samoa, there's district who're ruled by ancient kings like "Tui Atua" "Tui A'ana" "Tui Vasa" "Tui Samau'" "Tui Sega" "Tui Ha'apai" Tui Vava'u" and more, Upolu islands is the home of many kings also the powerful "Tui Manu'a" lost his power to these kings of Upolu, now your current rulers are known as Tui Kanokupolu meaning HEART AND FLESH OF UPOLU, now you know who we're, we Hamos are your kings that's why yous commoners need to know why we live under "Matai system"(Ancient Samoan system) the system was put in place by ancient kings of Ha'amoa to govern there own land and district, that's why our Tatau and our culture survived colonisation, because we're a living under the system that was created by the "Tupu Tafa'ifa"(Four Kings of Samoa) yous only have one king we Ha'amoa have many "Tamali'is" (High chief/King)

I just combined what Paul Bloomfield wrote. The old Tongan songs were written as poets with a lot of metaphors and old phrases which is hard to translate to the real meaning of the song. Tongan songs way back in the old days were written with hidden meaning about love, the country and different things. If you want to know the song you better find the original artist who wrote the song who is probably dead now :) but if I try to translate the lyrics to you, I might tell you a different story and meaning about the song. I grew up in Tonga but live int he US now, I speak Tongan perfectly but trying to translate this song into english won't be as good as you want it. Anyway it's weird that you like the song not that I'm against you liking it but you said you are from Argentina :) but that's cool. Good luck..

KNOW YOUR ROOTS: Tongan Flag Meaning--
The red cross represents the country's belief in Christianity. The white stands for purity and the red represents the blood Jesus shed at his crucifixion and reminds Tonga's people that they owe their salvation to Him. The Tongan flag originated in the 1860s and was adopted on November 4, 1875, making it one of the world's oldest flags. A 1875 law states the Tongan flag should never be altered.
