T-Rex is my favourite but it is hard to wear. Chameleon is the best and easiest to wear in my opinion. I looking forward to try Cow
Yeah. I got a sample of Cow and Seahorse as soon as they were available..Seahorse leans masculine to me, and it actually reminds me of my father (which isnt a bad thing) but it wasn't for me..Cow on the other hand I really enjoy. But, to me it smells like a milky, spicy, floral bubble bath- Lol! Yeah. I do appreciate it for all the reasons you stated. But, yeah. Bubble bath not Gourmand! My top 5 Zoologist fragrances are now: 5) Cow, 4) Squid, 3) Humminbird and Nightingale are tied, 2) The Original 2017 Dragonfly and 1) BEE!!! BEE is supreme! What a gorgeous fragrance! Thank you for reviewing one of my favorite houses!
How unfair is it that you get better looking the older you get?! Excited to try the Zoologist house. I’m new to fragrances and just discovered these guys today. They are pricey (for me) so I’m going to overload on Reddit and RUclips reviews. Thank you
I snapped up Cow the day it was released and I love it. This and Snowy Owl are tied for top spot from Zoologist for me and I feel like they’re each other’s counterparts. Snowy Owl for cold weather and Cow for warmer weather - like the same place in the countryside in different seasons. Nightingale is my next favourite followed by Chameleon and Chipmunk
Can’t wait to try this one. My faves from the brand are Moth, Elephant, Hummingbird and Nightingale
I’m with you on Bee being my fave amongst the Zoologist frags. It will forever be difficult for any other Zoologist frag to bump it from #1. I like Cow a lot and I’m glad I bought a bottle. I love Zoologist’s Hummingbird and I think Cow is similar in that it’s a perfect lightweight scent for spring/summer (When Bee may be cloying in the heat!)

I enjoy this house enormously because they are unique, daring, and quite different. Macaque has been my favorite for some time now. T-Rex and Camel are great as well.
There's a few that I haven't tried but, so far, my top 5 Zoologist:

I smelled this at scent bar in NYC and I LOVED this. Very apple and milky, very comforting.
I LOVE cow, blind bought it because I really enjoy zoologist and I was pleasantly surprised , definitely smells like a musky milky apple orchard and people seeem to like it !
After trying a Cow sample, I needed the bottle! I truly enjoy the sage and apple opening! I also own Snowy Owl, which is sooooo unique. If I had to purchase a third bottle, I think I would go for Squid, since I really enjoy the ink note!
I love Cow! It's so accessible, but still unique with the grassy notes. My favorites are Cow, Bee, and Squid, but I haven't tried all of them. And I do agree with you in incense. I love smelling incense, but don't want to *wear* incense all the time. That's why I'll always have PoaL in my collection, but have to wait for the right moments to wear it.
If you like Squid, you might like Habibi Ambre of the Sea? They aren't exactly alike by any means, but there is a similarity in the trueness of the ambergris note and overdose of salts and amber. It is very nice.

I own several but Tyrannosaurus Rex is incredible
My favourite is Moth, I instantly fell in love with it. All of my Zoologist perfumes were blind buys and successful ones :) Zoologist has become my favourite house. Macaque Yuzu is next one on my list. Your videos helped me alot in picking out my fragrances, so thank you for that :)

I love this house and their artwork so much. I own Panda, Humming Bird and the original Macaque. I love Cow, Chipmunk, Squid as well. Bee is beauty on paper, but on my skin it gets so stanky. It's my sister in laws signature scent and it's just gorgeous on her, I'm really sad about it.
Zoologist definitely takes the cake for me as the most intriguing house at the moment.
Last year it was Goldfield and Banks and BDK. This year definitely Zoologist.

Great review Sebastian! Camel and Bee still my favs of the lot, but I just found my decant of Elephant and after sitting for a while, it got stronggggggg. 😄 Like a super extrait. Touch of milkiness in that one too. You described it perfectly - gel-y. Still haven't gotten around to sampling Chipmunk though. Nuts.

i've always had the impression that Zoologist is rather experimental with their scents and am cautious abt the wearability of their fragrances since most reviewers seem to keep them for collection purposes, i am personally more curious abt Chameleon and Seahorse so if anyone has tried it id love to hear your personal take on it! for anyone whos tried their scents which is their "freshest" scent?

Its barnyard fresh! I bought it and its like only the best smells of the field and fresh milk. I smell apple milk and fresh hay lol. My other two faves of Zoologist are Nightingale, Chipmunk, and Hummingbird.
Seahorse is my favorite Zoologist fragrance
I have smell a few of them but only only one. The one I own is camel and I do like it but it’s not one that I can wear all the time. Some of the other ones that I’ve tried are Bee, Bat and Squid. The other two that I’m intrigued with or rhinoceros and T-Rex. Once I try those two then I’ll probably buy some more but I’m not sure which ones yet.
I like cow as it reminds me of discontinued Clinique Simply which had soymilk note plus this fresh cut grass smell. I really like Bee and T-rex from this brand. I tried many their frags but most of them are really unpleasant for my nose.

Squid is a masterpiece, and maybe the less challenging zoologist scent

I haven't tried cow yet but am dying to get my nose on it!! My top Zoologist fragrances 5) civet 4) bee 3) musk deer 2) Chipmunk 1) Koala
Apple is the most dominant note in Cow. My brain detects a bit of milk note but I would have loved a more lactonic fragrance. It doesn’t have to be a milky-vanilla shake like fragrance but it could be more like milk, butter, and grains a(wheat, rice) type of combo to make it a comfort fragrance
COW is amazing, love it & my Colleges love it, too!
My female boss goes kind of nuts because of this scent, you can smell it in a big room. On me for sure 😂❤

I own the original MACAQUE and wear it now, in the heat. A humid, dense jungle with a natural apple.

I been waiting for this review. The reviews on Fragrantica were so so. A few people said it smelt like laundry detergent. I was curious as to how lactonic it was. I love Milky Musk from Parle Moi Parfum. I got Chipmunk while I was waiting for reviews on Cow. Lol.

It's so good!
Cow is such a nice fragrance but on me it does not last at all. I am trying to figure out how to layer the perfume without changing the scent. I have tried different types of unscented lotion but nothing works. 🤔🐮
I’m really not an apple note person I feel. I have tried many and they all remind me of shampoo scent. Cow came close to converting me. That milky note does tone down the shampooness for me but alas it still smells like a hair salon although a very expensive upscale hair salon. My fiancé’s first response to it was actually “it smells kind of like expensive hair product.” He did actually like it more than I did and he’s not a fragrance person but ones he enjoy are typically fresh scents like Maison Margiela Sailing Day. So this is in his wheelhouse.
I thought this one smelled like shampoo. My husband liked it though too and he usually likes super earthy scents.

Panda is great clean smell
I love animalics, but CAMEL is too much for me: I have sold it. But nevertheless it is a great scent!
ELEPHANT on the other side I like a lot!
SQUID is the only aquatic scent I appreciate ❤ very edgy, but wearable in my opinion!
I do not like Zoologist for constant changes and making its perfumes more and wearable. It has nothing in common with niche…

Have tried a few . But more testing is needed. the dodo was horrible like decaying fruit.
Interesting.. When I first put this on I got a very strong initial vanilla note, then trails off to a light green floral scent with a milky end. I didn't realize there's no vanilla in it.
And I think my fav from this brand so far is Dragonfly 2021.

I was expecting a lactonic , almondy (because of the heliotrope) apply pie kind of gourmand ..... still i'll try it. My top 3 Zoologist fragrances would be:

I initially was interested in Zoologist when I was looking for perfumes with banana notes, so I really wanted to try Bat, but I know they have since reformulated without the banana note 😢

The old formulation of Bat now exists as Night Flyer by Olympic Orchids, that’s with the banana note. The perfumer took the formulation to a different house
