Let's be honest, most of us came for the reaction to Hyrax, lol. Seriously though, wonderful analysis, Eli. Camel is one of my faves too! Hyrax is divisive for sure but... I kind of like it too, lol. It's challenging in the opening but in the drydown it gets very Middle-Eastern and spicy and I love it. As for me, Musk Deer all the way! 😍It's one of the last ones I smelt a few weeks ago and I'm hitting myself for not doing so earlier. I've been completely obsessed with it over the last two weeks. Incredibly beautiful, sweet floral musk with soft spicy hints. Sexy af. People at work actually commented quite a bit on it, too. :)
I wanted to love hyrax so bad, the note descriptors are so beautiful but it was one ofthe most atrocious smells I’ve ever been confronted with in my life, I couldn’t get the residual scent off of my fingers for hours :( I’m glad to know others can appreciate it!

I just ordered a full bottle of squid today after trying out their discovery set a few years ago, and it was my favorite overall. Not necessarily for the best scent, but more for the longevity. It lasts most of the day, whereas some of the other good scents didnt. The more oriental scents do last longer, but they kind of overpower my nose and head throughout the day and i wind up with a bit of a headache.
I like Koala,Chameleon, Chipmunk, and Deer Musk, Macaque Yuzu edition. I want to get my nose on Panda and Dodo Jackfruit edition, these two are supposed to be the most mainstream of the Zoologist collection.
They do! Just be warned, Sacred Scarab is not for everyone. I personally dig it but it's a very musky and aldehydic perfume rooted in the old school (the OG Sacred Scarab is along the lines of Chanel no.5).
