Great review, I loved the mental image I got when you described Tiger. Dodo Jackfruit is outstanding, it really blew my socks off and I can't wait to snag a bottle as soon as it's released. I also didn't care for the original Dodo, but this one is sooo special, especially as a fan of fougeres. I got Harvest Mouse, and can't wait for the weather to cool down just a bit so I can wear the heck outta it. My favorites zoologist frags are Panda, Seahorse, Humming Bird, Macaque Yuzu, and the two new ones Harvest Mouse and Dodo Jackfruit.
I think the beer extract in Harvest Mouse is to give it that "yeasty" note that I get, like a fresh bread and/or bakery vibe. It's a very cozy scent for sure. Makes you want to get inside and wrap yourself in a blanket with a pastry. I love it. Dodo's such a stunner too. To me it's very much like the previous version but with that oddball rotten fruit/guano/sweaty vibe taken out and lavender jacked up big time. Safe? Most definitely. Wearable and enjoyable? Heck yes.
I'm so apprehensive with Zoologist fragrances. Rhinoceros really offended my senses in a visceral way. And I deeply wanted to like Bee bc honey is one of my fav notes but I found it too animalic for me. However I really do appreciate the artistry of Hummingbird and Seahorse. I remember being neutral about Harvest Mouse but hope to discover other frags I enjoy in the house so will happily try Tiger when I get a chance but never ever will I blind buy from this house LOL
I just got Harvest Mouse as a sample with my order of Bee. My first reaction to this fragrance was: beautiful, simply beautiful. Such an easy scent to wear. I may just order a bottle. I like it a lot, maybe because of the vanilla and the oak moss. Creamy and smooth, as you say. I can see it being an every day wear.
Zoologist Dodo Jackfruit Edition Extrait de Parfum is great. This is so unique and uplifting. I have a small collection of around 60 perfumes and i have tested hundreds of perfumes, but i have never smelled something like DODO. Some people say it smells like cleaning products, i get that why they say it. But i am blown away by this, it is so good. I don’t care what others think, this is just awesome.
I like tiger a lot, it does a good job of balancing the tartness of the vetiver I sometimes find annoying. Also love a smoky frag (Ierofante is worth the hype). I ordered a jackfruit sample about ten minutes before you posted this, looking forward to it. My favorite of Zoologists recent releases is still Cardinal, or now Northern Cardinal. It’s quite sweet on my skin compared to my partner and I like how it blends with a classic green structure. I was also surprised to receive several compliments on it. Harvest mouse was too mousy for me, but it’s cute.
I was going to ask your opinion about Tiger. People compare Tiger to Encre Noire: what do you think ? Ps your thoughts on Cardinal would be interesting too.
I must say the anesthetic of this brand in general is very challenging. I mean, nothing about the packaging says "Come try me" and for me that's part of how I experience a brand or fragrance. But listening to you now, the one that sounds mostly like to appeal to me is Harvest Mouse.
When i heard about this new release Tiger, instantly came to my mind tigers nest from Memo Paris. Any similarity between those to tigers Sebastian? Greetings
They're definitely an interesting brand. I've only tried Hummingbird which seemed like one of their most wearable ones and all I got was floral dryer sheets from it. Still plan to slowly try more from them.
The Dodo JF is nice. Definitely more masculine leaning so i gave the sample to my 20yr old son. It's hard to entice him with anything new but he snatched that sample off me FAST!

These sound really interesting. I will definitely have to try them out. I really like Chipmunk, Bee and the new Bat, but absolutely love Squid and Moth. I've been wanting to try Cardinal and Cow, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

But, I am with you Sebastian - Bee is the ultimate to me..Just a freaking masterpiece! It's going to be hard for them to ever top that one! Of these three today- Harvest Mouse is the one I need for the up coming Fall season.. though Dodo Jackfruit sounds interesting.. probably a bit masculine. Most of Zoologist disappoint me; poor performance big price tag, not meeting the brief or just skanky (personal opinion!), but Macaque Yuzu is a masterpiece. I also like the Prin’s Rhino - I hope for an undoubtedly masculine release but not just burnt or bitter or harsh. A gorilla, perhaps - strong woody green violet leaf masculine release.
Haven't tried them, I'm interested in Tiger, Squid and Sacred Scarab, Dodo Jackfruit sounds interesting but I'm not a big Fougere fan, I like some but not my favorite fragrance family. Thanks for the review Sebastian!!!
I smelled almost all Zoologist fragrances, and I own four: Camel is my favorite, followed by Bat 2020, Civet and Snowy Owl (I definitely love the civet note 😅). Tiger is beautiful, Harvest Mouse is very nice, cosy and easy to wear. The only Zoologist I cannot stand is Elephant, omg the opening 😵
got a sample of harvest mouse and was actually quite disappointed by it. smells pretty basic to me. definitely getting the caramel, brown sugar, and vanilla, but it really just reminds me of a sweet candle

As we talked about when you were here in Montreal, I can't really vibe with anything from this house. Bee, Chipmunk and Harvest Mouse were the ones I like the most but I find even these three pretty challenging. Bee is my favorite smell from the bunch but on my skin the beeswax gets way too waxy and strong. I've smelled Tiger but it didn't click for me. Dodo Jackfruit hasn't hit Etiket yet but I'll go up and smell it as soon as they get it in.
Overpriced brand. Shopping in Bangkok I found a local brand who use exactly the same packaging and their bottles are sold for £30. I can buy Clive Christian, MFK etc which have a much higher credibility for less money than what Zoologist now charge.

Squid is AMAZING. Scarab is the only Zoologist fragrance I've tried that doesn't smell good on my skin. It seems to be pretty polarizing, in general.
