- Paula Vennells is facing a barrage of questioning from lawyers representing sub-postmasters on the third day of her evidence at the Post Office inquiry.
Postmasters have railed against some of the explanations that have been given by the former chief executive, prompting some testy exchanges with their legal representatives.

Not if the powers that be want to maintain a credible justice system. If prosecutions of POL executives and senior management do not follow what is undoubtedly a devastating public inquiry we are all exposed to corporate malpractice if execs feel they are invulnerable.
She’s crying for herself, no-one else. All she’s done is blame everyone else, and say “I wasn’t told”. Her defence is almost literally the opposite of “ I was only following orders”. She has turned that into “I wasn’t giving the orders”. Even now, she’s not apologising. Her behaviour then was despicable, and her behaviour now is despicable.

I loved the Post Office .

when asked the real question ...(she covered up the computer/horizon issue ) she replied " i loved the post office , she loved the power ,money and pension

A very intelligent liar and slippery character with selective memory loss. Amazing how she can recall with extreme detail facts that are in her favour ! Shamefully,after this , she will walk away with her freedom and pockets still very very full! A conscience can't be pricked if it doesn't exist! No justice for the postmasters really I fear!

An example needs to be made to stop this happening again .Tears don't work i am afraid .,too late .Drink drivers cry after being caught .Perpetrators of assault cry after being caught . I am glad she is upset and I am glad she is remorseful ,but she still needs punishing for her deeds.
British managers who run their own businesses work hard. Not these network connectors who are all on a cushy job and wage. The post office managers kicked this scandalous tin can down the road for years for the wind to blow it back again in their faces.
Internal investigation teams should be feared. The tactic internal investigative teams use is to make sure the house always wins. The trick is to find a series of small errors and then put them together to sell a concept to a jury that the offender had thought through everything prior to completing an action. It’s how you sell it to an independent oversight. They all lack integrity, but in truth it goes on today across all major governments/firms/departments. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. You need to employ a decent lawyer to even stand a chance of surviving.
She's lying, there no other reasonable explanation. There was simply too much evidence around that time for her default response, "I didn't know/ i don't remember " to be believable. Sadly it's unlikely this is going to end in a criminal court though.
Difficult to look at her.
More post offices in more communities = more postmasters to jail , odious individual

Why accuse people of being in La La Land - as if they are stupid? These people are not stupid, they knew what they were doing, they were doing their best to get away with it. Nobody buys the "I wish I had been made aware"... lies. Call it what it is. I welcome the accusation "You preach but ..." - a reference to someone who takes the high ground by claiming a religious background and behaving and acting in a way that most non religious people would ever dream of behaving. She probably thinks she has made her peace with God so does not have to worry about her impact on the mere mortals she, and others, have literally killed by putting their concerns about the Post Office brand, and their careers, over humanity.

important not to judge, we all make mistakes, but we all can display courage and take responsibility, the victims here deserve responsibility and accountability, this would require courage and moral integrity

The final line of questions shows how reliable a witness she has been. Total contempt for post masters and their ruined lives. Just a nasty ruthless woman that did and said everything she needed to do to get to the position she reached completely inappropriately, and then defended her position when there regardless of who she hurt
