Well done, your presentation was well thought out. I am the Reinforcing Instructor at my Local’s Apprentice Training School. I think I will share this video with all my first year probationary apprentices on their first day of classes. Thanks, and be safe.

Dude just want to echo what everyone else is saying, you need to keep making videos. These are really well done and informative. Thank you so much for doing these.

I've been doing rebar for about 6 years and the Klein is definitely the standard as far as reels but I really think that the Mar-Mac Quickdraw reel is the best quality reel I've seen and I've had mine for about 3 years now

    Good video .
Here is my take on the subject.
Packing 60' #11s all day basic = Hard hat , klien belt , scabbard , klien reel , klien # 9s , klien dykes , torch Stryker , white mule gloves , Lufkin 6' folding ruler , 1 stick yellow keel , 1 kotex for shoulder .( Hahahaaaha just kidding )
Foreman , leadman add = bolt bag , paint cans , different color keel , 30' or < tape measure .
Walls or columns set up = klien double d ring belt and kidney pad , bolt bag for extra wire threaded on your harness , double snap position hook and 2 lanyards and a pig tail makes it a little easier .
Some jobs will need something special.
You'll know when you get there .
Or carry what they tell you so you don't get laid off .

Yeah the spud wrench would be useful for getting the rebar up for chairs I suppose in terms of being a rodbuster... what other uses on a PT deck could it have??

I know local 416 iron workers that smoke that gun. It's ok for highway work and tying flat. Terrible for wall ties and column ties. It can only tie a single tie snap.

Double fisted wire cutting, that's a good one, twisted 9s for years bro, single wire, double wire 15 gauge, whatever switched back to 7s for flat work and columns, kept the 9s for pounding nails. Also, fyi, if you're working in So Cal you won't be able to use your own harness, gotta use company provided with integrated yoyo and supplied lanyards and issued positioning hook. Stay safe, learn those placing sheets and structural plans.

Don't really understand the obsession with pliers, end cutting nippers are a far more versatile tool for rebar. you don't need to bend over that much since the handle is longer, you can cut ties&bundles with it, pry&raise bars, hammer nails etc...

Yep Klein linemen pliers 7's and 9's plus a pair of Klein sidecutters/snips/dikes insert your prefered name there, rodbuster/reinforcing ironworkers standard issue since I started tieing in the early 90's.
